I visited Disney World Yesterday, first thing I did was to flip off that ride and hope it burned down, [without any injuries to anyone]. I hope it fails.

    1. Nia

      You need serious mental help

  2. M

The fact that these articles need to talk about Splash Mountain says it all. Tiana isn’t bringing any hype, it’s the lost of Splash Mountain that people are talking about. It shouldn’t have been re-themed.

    1. Nia

      It should be retheme

  3. Denise

Yep, there they are! Roger and M are so triggered. They’re the people who criticize everything without even looking for the good. Better go find your safe space, snowflakes. A new ride is a new ride… And change is okay!

    1. Steve

Change is not okay. Stagnation and regression are good. And there is no Tiana happening, Splash Mountain is open in WDW and will be for the 75th in 2046. And when I take over Disney and usher in the Make Disney Great Again era where everything is done by asking “what would Walt do?” again, I hope you enjoy theme parks stuck in the 20th century that stay the same.

      1. Nia

Charge is okay , you will never own Disney

        1. Steve

No change is not okay. Yes I will own Disney and in fact I’m speaking to you from a distant future year and do own Disney. You won’t be allowed to visit the parks when I take over because you’re not a traditionalist. And you will show proper respect to a member of the United States military.

    2. Wokey Dwarf

But Denise, these easily triggered folks have nothing better to do than spend all day on their computers and phones, venting and ranting about the perceived crumbling of their worldview, because they’re afraid to leave the house and try to assimilate. Let’s show them some sympathy. Change can be scary sometimes.

      1. Steve

You realize you are the minority? Conservatives will always be the majority in the USA. I stand by the fact that change is bad and I can’t wait to make Disney great again by carrying out a takeover, keeping it frozen in the 20th century under a “what would Walt do?” mindset and catering only to the purists, turning the parks into private clubs.

  4. Not-a-sheep

    Good old george floyd mountain.

  5. Disney dude

There is not near universal criticism for the movie. Anyone who is against the movie clearly has never seen the movie.

  6. Drew

What a load of drivel. Splash Mountain was a great ride based on a good movie. There was not “near universal criticism” of the movie, just a clear lack of backbone on Disney’s behalf. The only people complaining are the same ones who are offended by everything that doesn’t fit their narrow world view. You can never appease them by giving in to their demands and if you do they will just ask for even more.
If you don’t like history just erase it and make yourself feel better about a different place and time that you can’t understand. I know it’s asking too much but do a modicum of research and see where the stories that make up this movie originated. At least the ride lives on overseas, maybe it can make a comeback here eventually.

    1. Dodger

I’ve seen the movie and done the research on its history, and I’m also perfectly okay with this re-theme.

No you haven’t and you are committing perjury. If I were interviewing you for a job I wouldn’t hire you for your beliefs. I have a no-hire policy against anyone with “woke” Un-American beliefs.

        1. Dodger

Good thing I already have a job then: Pushing your buttons. The way things are going so far, I can probably retire early.

          1. Steve

You have no job. And there is no Tiana happening. Splash Mountain is alive and open in the US. And besides, I look forward to subjecting all things Tiana to the Dip like Judge Doom did to that shoe after I take over Disney. Nobody likes Tiana.

        2. Wokey Dwarf

          Whatever you say, Steve…ahem…”Johnny.”

          1. Dodger

            Good eye, Wokey. Good eye.

          2. Steve

You have no way of of proving I’m the same person as that guy and you will show proper respect to military personnel in the United States. That rank on my uniform means you take orders from me according to Uncle Sam. Do you understand, civvie? You answer “Yes, sir.”

          3. Dodger

Oh, my bad. Let me show proper respect where it’s due:

Good eye, Sir Wokey! Good eye! And thank you for your service!

I am NOT happy about the retheme….I am not a huge fan (if at all) of Tiana – I have only watched the movie once, wasn’t left with a need to see it again (sorry Disney). Splash Mountain didn’t need to be rethemed – the ride was based around the cartoon characters of the movie (and all the critters that were there already from a previous ride). It was – and still is – a beloved ride that never failed to get people excited to go on it!! Rain or shine I know I always wanted to ride it – and hopefully get the front seat lol Now….now I don’t know if I want to even try it when it’s reopened as Tiana’s ride….I dont hope it burns or fails exactly – but I know it’s still a depressing issue for me & my son who only got to experience it once (and he hopes to experience it more then that). I understand needing to reinvent rides or introduce new ones…but that should not happen to rides that did t need it or deserve it. Again it has NOTHING to do with the movie – it was based around the critters!! Only thing from the movie really is maybe the song – which was always catchy and made you excited to ride. My “happy place” has lost a major point….Cuz Disney is my “happy place” but Splash Mountain has a major place there for me…

    1. Dodger

Maybe Splash Mountain didn’t NEED to be re-themed, but it also didn’t need to stay the same forever. The same can be said for any attraction.

  8. Nia

    @steve

You never own Disney , people do love watching princes in the frog

    1. Steve

Yes I do and will own Disney as if it were a pro sports team. I won’t be allowing you or anyone like you to visit the parks because you don’t have the notarized documents certifying you as a real Disney fan and didn’t go during Walt’s lifetime or are a descendant of guests or educated in the way Disney was run under Walt or believe in the WWWD mantra. Anyone who thinks Song of the South or Splash Mountain is offensive will be turned away. Disney parks are going to be private clubs like the Augusta National Golf Club when I take over and usher in the MDGA era. Nobody likes Tiana and I will come down on all things Tiana like Judge Doom.

      1. Wokey Dwarf

I’m from an alternate timeline in the multiverse with its own WWWD mantra: What would woke do? I’m thrilled to report that stocks have risen to new highs since Rachel Zegler took over as CEO of the company and Seven Magical Creatures Mine Train was updated with multiethnic characters, some of which were copped from the newly-named It’s an Even Smaller World. Each day, there’s a popular 5pm flag ceremony on Main Street Showcase where a lucky family is chosen to have their own flag burned in the town square. Liberty Square does not exist here, but the Strange World area that replaced Frontierland is a guest favorite. Numerous times a day, John Waters reads a story dressed as Ursula, and for this popular experience the park has recently added more showtimes and implemented a virtual queue. It’s been a magical time, friend.

        1. Steve

Sure you are and I’m the Wizard of Oz. Rachel Zegler will be blacklisted from Hollywood when the old Studio System returns, taking Hollywood back to the 1930s and 40s, with movie stars being under contract and MGM returning to its former glory. Her life will be controlled by a studio to the point of having her dating life controlled. She will quit acting while screaming that Judy Garland is spinning in her grave. And before you can respond, no Judy did not die because of MGM and the way she was treated. And none of what you said is happening, ever and Disney under my control will be like the 45th POTUS were in charge. And during flag retreat during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner, I just might encourage guests to scream and cheer throughout the anthem like Chicago Blackhawks fans.

          1. Wokey Dwarf

Well, Wizzy boy, you seem to have figured out how to time-travel, but you clearly haven’t mastered multiverse-travel, so you can’t prove what is or isn’t happening in my timeline. I assure you, it’s ALL happening. Believe me. Additionally, the Chicago Blackhawks don’t exist here, all hockey occurs in New France (an area you know as Canada) and the 45th POTUS from your timeline is named Biff Tannen here and currently waxing Liz Cheney’s car as I type this.
