I don’t think Disney is ignoring Tim Burton’s wishes. I think “The Nightmare Before Christmas” needs to be brought back for a sequel, remake or something like that.

So, that’s quite literally ignoring Tim Burton’s wishes, as he has explicitly said he does not want a sequel, remake, or something like that.

      1. FilthyMuggle

Dude Tim Burton had almost nothing to do with nightmare other than sharing the idea and loaning his big name. It was a masterpiece because of the crew that made it. Not because of tim Burton. He didnt want his wife to be in harry potter either. Therefore who gives a crap what tim Burton wants?

    2. Jistint

Only if tim Burton is directing it. Screw Disney

      1. Matt

Tim Burton didn’t direct the first one…

        1. Kira Mills

I would love a Nightmare Before Christmas sequel or even prequel.

      2. Mat

He didnt direct the first one though.

It’s Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. It is his animation style and movie. They shouldn’t be able to do anything with it without his ok. They are just driving away the amazing talent they’ve had for some of these movies. One day they will regret doing some of the things that they are doing right now.

          1. Jenni

            I agree.

      3. Skyler

        He didn’t direct the 1st one though…

    3. Omar

They have 2 video games for that.

    4. Anonymous

No sequel. A sequel always destroys the original. The original is a classic and no sequel is needed.

    5. Brian

Sir, that is literally ignoring his wish for it not to be-

    6. Nic

That’s exactly what they are doing! Lol if someone makes something and asks for it but to be added on to that’s their wish and If you add onto it you are going against their wishes!

      1. Nic

        Not*

    7. Lori

Well, then. That’s ignoring Tim Burton’s wishes isn’t it!

    8. Angel

A remake is definitely not needed. Nothing was wrong with the original. And by making a sequel that is exactly ignoring Tim Burton wishes. But Disney doesn’t csre they have turned into a greedy whoremonger who csres more about money than kids and families the way Walt Disney intended. He must be rolling over in his grave at the disgusting way corporate tightwsfs at Disney have ruined what he created.

Honestly, I’d love for there to be a sequel. Tim Burtons Nightmare Before Christmas is really amazing. I do agree with Anonymous when they said that a sequel always destroys the original. But I believe that only if Disney makes a sequel without Tim’s consent. If a sequel is going to be made, it must be done by none other than Tim Burton. They are going against his wishes which isn’t cool. But I’m also sad that Tim Burton doesn’t want a sequel. I think it would be really cool if Jack Skellington went on another adventure with a different holiday. But this is only my opinion.

I have watched Nightmare Before Christmas more than 100 times, favorite Holiday Move and anything Tim Burton does is amazing, just let it be what it is and don’t ruin it with another movie. He is the creator and he should not be pushed to change a thing.

    1. Crissy

      Yes I agree 💯%

  3. Aleesha

Tim Burton is what makes The Nightmare Before Christmas what it is. I won’t watch it, least it kill a part of my childhood.

    1. Kris

      YES! This. ☝️

    2. Raymond

Burton knowingly burned a bridge when he spoke out against Disney. He is well aware how his industry works, and in this, his “wishes” are irrelevant. Disney can do as it pleases. Do I agree with it? No. But just because an architect designed my home and a contractor built it, I don’t have to ask their permission to renovate, add on, or raise the building if I so desire.

  4. bwilhoite

Well, yeah! He clearly stated he didn’t want a sequel or anything else done.

  5. Angela

Y’all, just because a director doesn’t want to do it, don’t mean Disney won’t have another director lined up to take their place. This is Disney. They do what they want!

    1. NoneYa

And we just wont watch it. Disney needs to change back or get cancelled tbh

    2. Jeff

I’ll disagree. The director, Henry Selick is what made that movie work. By all accounts Burton was barely on set and when he was there was a disruptive voice

      1. Meh

OMG YES! THANK YOU!! It irritates me so much when nobody credits Henry Selick for being the one brought the movie to life while it gets to be called “Tim Burton’s…” Just makes sound like he did all the work when he wasn’t even there at all. w/Burton only as you said, “being disruptive” on set, I’d just call him a pain in the ass😂 as he kept nitpicking everything Henry did. If anything, it should be Henry Selick who should have a say in this, not Tim Burton. Man didn’t do squat until the last couple of weeks before its release and kicked a hole in a wall in a temper tantrum because someone made a suggestion. 🙄

    3. Jeff

Fun fact, he didn’t direct it. Henry Selick did. Who also directed James and the Giant Peach and Coraline. Tim Burton drew some pictures, but Henry and Caroline Thompson are the minds behind the movie. Bring them back and it’ll be amazing.

    4. Mat

He didnt direct it. Henry selick did

    5. Christian DeNault

Exactly! Disney doesn’t care about the directors, producers or actors. All they care about is $$$ and pushing their agendas down our throats!

      1. Mary Bragg

And how has that worked for the last few movies?

  6. Yato

Disney shouldn’t be ignoring Tim Burtons’ wishes on not making a sequel. It’s his movie. If he doesn’t want to, he doesn’t have to.

  7. Sean

Disney definitely shouldn’t make a re-make or a sequel. Tim Burton movies are great because of… Wait for it .. TIM BURTON! No one does it like he does… The dark and gloomy amazingness that is Tim Burton, can’t be done by anyone else. If he doesn’t want it done… Then it won’t be done/can’t be done correctly.

  8. Jane

I think Disney should let Tim Burton do it for the movie nighmare before Christmas was a hit I for one would love to see the new one

  9. Dude, let tim do what he wants. Tim is a legend, and Disney can’t be talking bc wth is this new villain song? Oogey Boogeys was WAY better.

  10. Shana

I think they need to learn to leave well enough alone. I’m with Tim Burton!

  11. Tony

Unless I’m misunderstanding… Burton would prefer that there’s no sequel nor remake. Disney is doing neither and are using characters they own the license to for a video game. So what exactly is the issue? Using characters in a video game is not making a sequel. Nightmare Before Christmas characters have been featured in video games before now. Nothing new.

  12. Shanitra

I am a huuuuge Nightmare Before Christmas fan, but i also have respect for the creator. Disney is going too far by trying to take this from under him AFTER he explicitly stated he wanted to leave it as it is. Let’s be respectful, Disney! As a real fan, i refuse to watch it if it isn’t a Tim Burton film! #teamtimburton

  13. Anonymous

No sequel. A sequel always destroys the original. The original is a classic and no sequel is needed.

  14. Done

Disney needs to give up entirely. Each time they come out with something new, it sucks. They are destroying classics and making everything perverse. Best to just know when to quit before stocks drop.

  15. Lily

I really hope it’s the pumpkin queen sequel.

  16. That guy

Oh boy here we go again🤦🏾‍♂️. Why can’t they just leave it be and come up with an idea of their own…

    1. Diandra

Dude quit it. Quit making stuff up lol
People wake up…..these ideas were his. That’s why Disney had to ask Burton to approve them using them. He’s a creative genius if nothing else. The director Selick is amazing! If we want to get down to brass tacks it’s the puppeteers and the technicians and animators who do the most “hands on” actual labor.

  17. Hank

Disney is a F%#$?!@ joke anymore they have made that very clear the past couple of years!

  18. T

Man wayy too go disney, way to ruin yet another movie of my childhood.. yall ruined aladdin, lion king,Willie wonka, why not RUIN ONE OF YOUR MOST ICONIC MOVIES EVER MADE.. MY KIDS ARE 46AND10 AND THEY HATE EVERY REMAKE YALL HAVE MADE… WONT BE WASTING MY MONEY ON THIS FOR SURE..

    1. Mary B

They don’t care. They rehash old movies rather than come up with something new. Look at all the unnecessary live versions of their classic animated movies they’ve done that tanked.

  19. Gina

    Exactly! I’m done with Disney!

  20. Ambrose

The original is a masterpiece. It uses some of the best stop motion animation and has a truly unique style. Knowing Disney, they want to wokify it, probably making jack skellington into a woman, Jacqueline Skellington, and make her gay. “Put a chick it and make her gay and super lame”. It’s not needed for the same reason Back to the Future should never be remade.

  21. Kayla

I think if they change jacks voice or his appearance in anyway I will be beyond angry! The nightmare before Christmas has been my favorite movie since I was little and is now my children’s favorite movie. I don’t care how many videos games Disney thinks they need to make DON’T FIX SOMETHING THAT IS NOT BROKEN! I have the dreamlight valley game my children and I both play it and to be completely honest it’s not all it’s cracked up to be to begin with, which is why they keep doing updates to add more characters to keep you interested. At first yes the game was ok but the more updates they do the longer it takes to complete the missions which makes it hard for my children to keep interest in the game. At the end of all of this my opinion is if Disney changes jack in anyway I will never purchase any Disney or Pixar anything ever again! They already ruined pirates of the Caribbean by taking johnny Depp out of it. Don’t ruin a nightmare before Christmas as well
