Mickey is my favorite Disney character and I would be very sad if Disney doesn’t use him in anything, let alone animated films, shorts, specials and stuff like that.

It’s the law. In the US, copyrights last 95 years. Unless the law changes, Steamboat Willie is public domain. That’s the way it is. But Mickey IS NOT public domain so let’s not have a mickey meltdown. 😂😂

You all sound like a bunch of whiney Disney babies who clearly don’t understand what public doman is or means, they still own mickey, juT steamboat willy and characters are up for grabs so new new creators can try giving a stale classic a new twist of life ..plus, most of disneys golden age animated films are swiped from public domain characters, ( pete pan, Pinocchio, the mermaid, beauty and beast,etc…) it’s only fitting that what goes around comes around. .
