I’ve been going to Knotts ever since I can remember. My first memory was watching the workers pour the concrete for Wagon Train Theater. I remember the row of displays of the California Missions, the miniature “devil” striking the “thunder.” Iyt was my favorite place as a kid.
80 years ago my parents took me to Mr and Mrs Knott farm for chicken dinner. Since I was a good girl and cleaned my plate, Mr Knott took us for a ride on the real train that went around the farm. That was the beginning. Just the berry farm, Mrs Knott serving chicken dinners and the train. Nothing more.
I grew up in the neighboring town of Westminster. We would spend hours sitting on the bench just people watching because it was free to get in. I worked at Bob’s men’s shop as a gift wrapper in the 60s. Happy childhood memories.
Just left knotts after being there for a whole week and it wasn’t the same. Long where horribly long and if you want to by fast pass it’s another 100.00 . But all shows were closed until Saturday and still no more western shows at wagon camp. School house was closed and my friend who works there 29 years said it’s getting very said to work there anymore.
That’s not the first item that’s been lost. I remember going to not when I was younger and in fiesta village there was a small chapel near the big church. It had eight pews and held the painting of Jesus called the transfiguration. I have been searching for that painting and where it might be displayed, but I understand that it may have been destroyed due to water damage. If anyone knows where it is or what happened to it, I would like to hear the story. Thank you

Thank you for sharing that. Been many times in the 70s, wasn’t aware of that history

Went Knots Berry Farm in the early 1960’s. Good time, fond memories.

Isn’t there anything they can do to save it
