I agree that Disney is not caring for EPCOT. The Land pavilion is a disgrace. There has been no remodeling for decades – just look at the old cash register souvenir stand outside the restrooms near Soarin. That entire building needs pride and attention.
I love my WDW and particularly EPCOT, but some of the “not caring” does ring true.
Traveling on the People Mover at the park, we passed above an elevated roof with vents that had a ladder and other cleaning and fixing tools spread haphazardly in full view of every passenger. Worse, when in our room at one of the prestige WDW hotels we looked down on the updating of one of the restaurants with ugly, beat-up panels hiding the view. There were disorganized piles of discarded and new parts and fixtures that i would not expect at the refurbishment of a run-down building in an old section of town.
It takes so little effort to continue the Disney Magic during construction and maintenance.
Gotta say I was at Epcot the last week of October and did not see any of this. Didn’t really notice much wrong, there were some lights burned out at night, but the park was very clean and I didn’t notice any heavy damage or chipped paint. Some things are a little tired, but that’s because they’re 40yrs old.
I thought the park was well kept even with the construction walls. That is always a good sign because that means things are being updated or new attractions are coming. I have never felt like the park was ran down in appearance no matter how dated the area may be and it definitely did not interfere with my magical experience.
Disney’s standards are rock bottom low and they don’t care bc people keep going! The ONLY way to show them you don’t appreciate that level of gross is to spend money elsewhere.
The Disney of old is dead. Fine a new place and let them recalibrate. When the money slows down they’ll change.
I agree with Matt and Shea above. Take my family for a few days once a year and never see or experience anything some of the trolls/haters post here. I’ve even bet $100 that most people who post negative comments here haven’t set foot in a park or resort in years or ever, they just have a sad life and feel they need to spread their misery in order to have a connection with something (that last part is just my opinion).
What standards are you referring to? I just left there last week and went to all four parks. They were immaculate, well maintained, and showed minimal problems.
I even saw a person squeegeeing a trash can to remove rainwater before someone placed their trays on top. And you’re trying to tell me that they don’t care about upkeep?

Why should Disney continue to invest in the parks when Desantis is trying to close them?
John
What a mark comment. There’s no evidence behind this whatsoever. You need to focus you anger on root cause. Disney’s Senior Management
Steven
Where’s your evidence then, that senior management is to blame?

EPCOT stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow; not city….. If you’re going to do a story, at least get the information correct.

Agreed. I was just there last week and it was pretty much immaculate. Old, yes. But very well maintained and perfectly clean.
I think people see what they want to, and when they only care about seeing the negative that’s what they see.

Man take your meds…or up the dosage.

More often than not, the Your Future stories at the end are missing one or both passenger faces. Very disappointing, especially to kids.
