I grew up at Disneyland. Both my wife and I worked summers there. I took my grandkids there almost every summer when they were kids, until they were teens. I’ve watched prices go up, again and again. They have gotten to the point that it takes a second mortgage to take one’s family there. Food prices have always been outrageous there and now admission prices are totally out of sight. I will not be going back, ever.
That’s okay, there are people who will. Disney has becomea luxury brand. It’s not the state fair; it’s invited to be an experience for those who can afford it. It would be silly for a business to leave money on the table when there is such high demand; that would not be very capitalistic.
