In my opinion this couldn’t be more wrong. Compare Pratt’s voice acting in the trailer to that of the previous Garfield voice actors; his voice is way too high and energetic for Garfield who is meant to be a monotone, lazy-voiced cat. As for Mario, he just doesn’t have the right accent and was just using his normal Pratt voice, just as he is doing with Garfield. Hes not trying to adapt his voice to better suit these characters. If he did that then he wouldn’t be receiving so much criticism for being casted.
