TWO YEARS from now we will watch as Disney execs have to offer up the sad news that Obi Wan #2 just won’t work. Key actors including Ewan McGregor will have irrevocably moved on. No surprise because Big Media AIs will have determined that ‘critical story attachments’ (AI tech-speak for human’s need for deep emotional, spiritual and even physical story arches that can ‘fuel’ human ability to see beyond the very disasters they’ve created and attempt to ‘make the world’ a better place) the Financial AIs see a (shall we say) “benefit” in shortening the ‘marketability’ of those ‘hero stories’ for lack of a more techy-talk-term.
Dear Disney execs… Put down your ‘numbers’ sheet and see Obi Wan for what it is – a fantastic hero story in a world that desperately needs one. Obi Wan is human. You’ve only got two other such main Star Wars ‘Pillars’ – Andor and Mandalorian. This is why they are SO popular – they speak to strength and courage that we all so desperately need in a world where there’s likely to be a terrible disaster awaiting us just two hours after we have sat down to watch Obi Wan Season 2…
So turn off your AI and pick up your notebook and find us another hero that will get us through another day…
