Sometimes, change is necessary. Even in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans see it all the time. Super heroes get new suits. Drastic changes are made to the character, and over the years, the super hero is different. Look at Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, for example. He went from an arrogant prince to a silly super hero burdened with guilt after losing almost everything. Nobody would’ve expected this route for the character, but it’s clear that change can lead to great things.

Loki is centered around change. The original villain of The Avengers (2012) has gone from the God of Mischief into something completely different. Loki Season 2 was all about keeping the Multiverse safe from the hands of He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors) and the inevitable invasion of Kang variants. It’s an MCU series fans will remember for a long time, but the series hasn’t stopped one star from wanting to jump ship for another franchise.

Despite having a great cast with Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Mobius (Owen Wilson), Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), and Miss Minutes (Tara Strong), it was time for one of the stars to jump ship. After appearing as Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), Ke Huy Quan was welcomed back into the family with Marvel and starred as O.B., a gifted scientist who knew how to build the right components to keep the Temporal Loom safe. Sadly, his work wasn’t enough, but fans loved the actor’s performance, considering him one of the best parts of the new season. Unfortunately, Ke Huy Quan has shared with Collider that he really wants to join Star Wars for a new project:

“I love the MCU. You know, I was able to connect with my Indiana Jones family during the award season. And, as you know, Kathleen Kennedy was the producer and she’s the head of Lucasfilm now. I did go up to her and I said, ‘Kathy, I would love to join the Star Wars family.’ That’s another wish list of mine. But honestly, I’ve been very lucky. I’ve been very lucky.”

Ke Huy Quan joining Star Wars would be something fans would love, but it’s hard to imagine what role would work for the actor. He couldn’t play a serious bounty hunter or a stoic Jedi, but it would be great to see the actor in some sort of Star Wars project. Even if Ke Huy Quan isn’t interested in more Marvel projects, it’s hard to imagine where the actor would appear again in the MCU. It could only happen if an Avengers movie needed the top TVA engineer to explain some physics without Loki around.

The Star Wars universe could make Ke Huy Quan into a smuggler like Han Solo and be a fun nod to Quan’s previous work with Lucasfilm. Whatever the actor does next, fans will be excited to see the star, even if it means his acting career will shift away from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and focus on other roles.

Would Ke Huy Quan be great for the Star Wars universe? Let Inside the Magic know what you think!
