You people are nothing but little dictators or communists. All you want to do is erase, erase, erase. Pathetic.

    1. DDS

      Absolutely Agree! Keep Splash Mountain!!!

      1. Steve

Splash Mountain is alive and well in the US parks and will be there for both WDW’s 75th anniversary in 2046 and Disneyland’s centennial in 2055. I have ways of knowing future events and I was there for both.

      2. LWA Politics

If Brer rabbit is wrong then I don’t wanna be right!

    2. Kim

I agree, the lunatics are always the loudest in the room. Its time sanity and rational thinking got a little loud.

      1. Hate to see any Disney project fail but the Splash Mountain one since a small group of WOKE caused its demise does. Glad l sold ALL my Disney stock before WOKE culture took over !!

    3. Johnno

Yes, exactly, they would love to erase the 2020 election!!

  2. Kim

I don’t think its offensive to call a playground The Laughing Place at all.

  3. EM

Not excited at all. It should have never been changed. Ask any kid who went on Splash Mountain about the theme and they have no idea what Song of the South is. That being said it will be the same ride so nothing to be excited about.

  4. Bruce

How does Tiana fit with Frontierland?

    1. Sherri

It doesn’t but it fits in with the New Orleans section which is closer ie Haunted Mansion and Blue Bayou. I was for keeping Splash Mountain though.

  5. Brandy

Problematic??? You keep referring to the movie as Problematic….
This is history. Stop erasing history. Don’t be ignorant to history. And the actor won an OSCAR for his performance in the movie.
James Baskett was voted Academy Honorary Award for his portrayal of Uncle Remus. He was the first African American man to win any kind of Oscar.

    1. Marie

Not only that, the characters from Splash Mtn (Brier Rabbit…etc…).are based on African folk tales.

      Nice job Disney…..

    2. KarenM

      Great point!!

  6. No, I’m not excited for the change.

  7. Ted Hill

Pretty soon we will be trying to say there was never a Civil War. Song of the south was one of my favorite films. Uncle Remus was one of my favorite storytellers. The music was and still is wonderful. Pretty soon you will be getting rid of Micky Mouse because he has big ears.

    1. Johnno

It seems the DeSantis’s and his “education” leaders are the ones trying to erase slavery and black history from our schools. They hate that kids are learning about the Civil War and how Southerners did everything that could to keep blacks enslaved.

      1. Jan K.

You obviously don’t live in Florida and are simply listening to the woke media! I live in Florida and what you are saying is all false! The woke want to erase our history so they can repeat it in the future! if our history is out and in our faces (statues, etc.) then we can talk about it to the children, so it never happens again!

  8. Gary

“Caved to backlash?” How about Disney recognized the movie’s stereotype portrayals of colored people?
And it’s NOT ERASING HISTORY! It’s NOT real! It’s a corporate property.

    1. Marie

How about the brain trust at Disney look at the fact that the characters of Brier Rabbit, bear and fox are based on AFRICAN FOLK TALES…… Oops….!

    2. Keil fleischbein

It is erasing history. These are real African folktales told by caricatures in a historic setting. There’s nothing wrong with stereotypes, there aren’t any negative stereotypes in song of the south.

  9. Deb

Maybe, just maybe, you are the one that is problematic. The big issue with the Song of the South was that people assumed that it was depicted during the slavery era as opposed to Reconstruction era. The Uncle Remus stories were based on African American folklore. Now I do understand how those stories were written in the vernacular which might be an issue. I can never understand how erasing a group’s culture is a good thing.

  10. Tattykattav

I bought the movie. I still love it. I feel sad for the actors of Song of the South. They were great especially uncle Remus. If they erase the movie they erase some great actors….

Just like Aunt Jemima her fame and history erased by ignorance….

    In Gonecwith the wind
Butterfly McQueen as prissy wonderful actress, Hattie McDaniel as Mammy, Oscar Polk as Pork on and on..

  11. Chris

The problem among many with the woke brigade is they have no problem targeting what hurts their little weak feelings but when they look further into what they targeted they then have no plan on how to totally erase the subject because now they have new problems that they can’t control lol.

  12. She

Woke Disney has list their collective minds. They seem to be on a runaway railroad ride to oblivion

  13. Heart Broken Mouse

Why is society always conforming to the whiners? Whatever happened to the majority wins?? It’s bad enough they got rid of Splash Mountain, the best ride ever, now what’s next for the whiners who’s feelings got hurt gonna complain about??

  14. Rob

Only the purple haired, college educated, gender confused thought splash mountain racist. And yet Disney catered to them. Sad!

  15. Bob

A small group of people who have didn’t like it and Disney kiss there ASS and change it in the USA. But the other parks around the World don’t have. And those people who don’t like probably never gone a lot of time. Like alot of us.

  16. Dave 62

Maybe disney needs to put the song of the south on TV on ABC on Saturday night and see what the ratings are for that night . Might be the way to show the real story behind the movie, if you have never seen it you shouldn’t have any opinion about it. It’s really one of the best disney movies of all times

    1. Yes!! I agree.
Why don’t they go ahead with Tiana in WDW but leave Disneyland the original? Then we can have the best of history and new.

  17. ROGER D STEVENS

I rather watch Tellatubbies before tiana false adventure ride. Bring back Splash Mountain. Enough said.

  18. Momo

I am not excited for the change. I agree this is a vain attempt to erase the past which is very sad. When we were there this summer it was just plain sad to see the closed down ride full of scaffolding. And why, because “some” people were offended. It’s ridiculous that the loudest whiners, yes I said it, get to dictate what most don’t see as an issue. If the issue at hand truly is a problem then point it out, bring it to light as a learning experience so history does not repeat itself. When we erase history we will repeat it.

    1. Why don’t the woke people start their own park funded by George Soros !

  19. RickTR

Yeah talking animals are really “problematic”. Just raze the whole park and start again with Woke Kingdom.

  20. Brandon

I really hate the word “problematic.” Do you know what has become problematic to me? Disney. And I will solve the problem by not giving them my money.

  21. Geoff

I still don’t understand why they couldn’t have just kept Splash Mountain and tone down the Song of the South references? If you asked many, if not most new people that rode the ride what the theme was, they would be hard pressed to come up with SotS. There may be people that find history offensive, but they shouldn’t ruin it for those that have learned to face it and move forward. There are ways Disney could have accommodated everybody without having to shut down one of their most popular attractions. After all, it wasn’t the SotS overlay that made Splash Mountain so great. It was the combo of a flume ride with a roller coaster and funny, dancing, singing animals and then “the drop” that made Splash so much fun. If they were so eager to add a Tiana ride, a simple dark ride could have been added, and Splash could have been saved. If you have a 2 to 3 hour wait for a ride, it’s probably not something guests are taking offense to. A few minor tweaks can go a long way.

  22. Jeff

No where in the ride is there any reference to Uncle Remus or any other African Americans.
    Still don’t understand the problem.
