What I’m excited for in Wish, is the return of the villain.

No villain in Elemental, Soul, Encanto, no villain in Frozen 2.. you’ve got to go back years to get a Disney cartoon bad guy. This movie could do quite well. Let’s wait and see

“Wish” hopefully will be Disney’s saving grace, but I also hope they can still do computer-animated films, and hand-drawn films, separately, even after “Wish”.

  3. I really like the CGI era, but if it is a traditional method, then it would have been in the past. But I suggest that the CGI era will keep on going, to make these upcoming films more fun, bigger, and better than ever.

  4. And just like Frozen, the CGI format will remain the longest-running format that all films will be made, kinda like a 3D version.

A brief nod to a past medium is hardly enough to pull Disney out of the run they are currently in. The movie as a whole will have to be a masterpiece in order to change people minds, but obviously however, that still wouldn’t be enough, given that there’s been pitying confirmation of many failures to come. (Eg. Ziegler’s Snow White and our odd Bambi reboot) Alas, “Wish” itself does look rather fun, and I personally haven’t came across any controversy yet, but we’ll know it’s quality for sure when it comes out.

As far as Disney returning to their roots of hand drawn animation, as much as I love that medium, I highly doubt they will be revisiting it wholeheartedly any time soon. CGI has the majority of the Western audiences support, and although I, and others, would love to see some classically drawn Disney movies, theres just no way they would risk changing it up like that. Which is ironic, but true. I like both mediums for what they offer, bias towards the overall appeal of hand drawn, but both have wonderful qualities.

It would be refreshing to see Disney work with both mediums and cater to both the new fans and old. Which is more than I can say for what they keep pulling in the recent years. We just need to hope they find that balance before they fall further.
