.DeSantis has to far, you have the right to say what you want under the constitution.he is acting like a dictator

For those of you keeping score at home, that’s:

    Disney: 23, 586…Whiny Tyrant: ZERO.

    (The numbers don’t lie.)

      Good one

I agree completely with Disney. DeSantis is punishing his largest tax payer, largest employer in the state, as well as the company who made Florida the tourist attraction that it is for expressing their opinion – one that conflicts with the Governor. Sure looks like a violation of First Amendment rights to me. How can this tyrant be our Governor? Worse yet – how could he ever be an American president!

He’s like a petulant child. Orlando would be nothing without Disney and everyone knows it. He needs to take his ball and go home. He cares only about himself not the people of Florida. He is a buffoon.

100% back Walt Disney. Desantis is un-American and is on the cusp of being an authoritarian leader. He should not be leading Florida let alone his aspirations of wanting to be president of the United States.

  6. Walt's Kingdom

No, we all have the right to say what we want. However, the state is not OBLIGATED to provide or continue to allow a private business to have control over a government entity or subdivision of the state. Fundamentally, Disney should have NEVER had full control over the RCID board.

Then the Florida state government should have dealt with that years ago, not right after the company exercised its first amendment right to free speech that “coincidentally” went against the governor’s bill. If Desantis had a problem with the Reedy Creek District, he should have voiced that years ago, like during his first term as governor. IMHO.

Perhaps, but the deal was made long ago and Disney should not be punished because Gov DeSantis disagrees with them politically. He is more in the vain of a Facist than a leader and protector of our Constitution.

I agree totally with Ron DeSantis. I live in Florida. I use to go to Disney World. No more. When they decided to have a “Gay Day”, that is when I could take it no more. Why not a “Christian Day’? Their standards have changed through the years. Their movies have changed. Walt would be very disappointed. He stood for family entertainment, family movies. It is not like that anymore.
Disney should have NEVER had full control over the RCID board. No body else does.

What exactly makes something a family movie to you I wonder? Is it the evil characters or the practical child brides?

      1. Dodger

I think she’s drawn to the family-friendly nonconsensual kissing of women while they sleep. LOL

Settle down with your redundant comments there, Deb…or should I say “Walt’s Kingdom”? Your suggestion that Disney doesn’t do enough for Christians is absurd. In addition to their regularly scheduled Night of Joy events, they devote two and half months just to Christmas alone and it gets acknowledged resort-wide while other holidays like Hanukkah and Kwanzaa are usually relegated to small corners of Epcot.

Disney continues to make family entertainment. It’s just that their definition of “family” doesn’t match yours, because it doesn’t meet with your narrow-minded approval.

Believe me when I say, your decision to stay away from Disney parks is a blessing to Disney park fans. If Jesus saw the sense of entitlement that you and certain Christians show, he’d be very disappointed.

Thank God he can’t run for governor again, so he definitely will not win another term because he will be term-limited out.

  9. Mona

I agree Desantis is using his authority as governor to take revenge on Disney and stifle Disneys 1st Amendment rights. He needs to be prosecuted for abuse of authority.
