Some parents are terrible. I managed various different hotels in various different capacities over the last 18 years or so. Birthday parties were the worst. Parent rents a single room for one night, then invites 20 other non-guest kids to come swimming in the pool, with cake and decorations and telling other hotel guests it was a “private party.” This happened ALL the time. Like every weekend. One mom tried to get me to organize a scavenger hunt in the lobby, and when I refused, she complained to corporate and got a gift card.
This is a responsibility issue. Adults these days are immature and irresponsible and it continues to get worse. There are so many parents who shouldn’t be parents. It’s unfortunate but this is the reality. People these days are not being held accountable for their actions and people are no longer acting responsibly.
I have been a police officer over 20 yrs, my wife a PICU nurse for over 15 yrs. We were at Art of Animation pool about 7 yrs ago with our two kids (8 & 1) when a young boy drowned. He was with his large extended family and tall enough to stand up in the water. Lifeguards are great but they can’t watch everyone every second. Never let eyes off your kids for even a second around or in the water.
We all did everything we could but it was too late.
Adults are often the ones who behave the worst in the parks – Fights, public intoxication, nudity… WDW has NO standards. There is no common sense or decency there anymore. It’s a shame. Walt would be heartbroken.

Parents should never let their little ones near water without constant supervision

You can enter the parks without scanning your finger. I was told this week that I did not need to scan in to go to any park
