Not just Disney. All USA Hotels are legally required to check rooms for mass weapons or suspicious activity ever since Las Vegas MGM lone shooter 500 dead in 10 minutes.

The first time we had been back for our annual trip to Disney World after this policy was implemented. It was a nightmare then too. Not only did they do the “daily” checks which meant they were not securing the door as they left the room, but we would come back at night to realize our room would have been accessible to anyone who just pushed on the door. No matter how many times we contacted management during our stay about this, nothing changed. So every night we would get back, scan our magic band for fun, get a red light on the door, realize it wasn’t shut, and just push it open and walk in. The final straw with our last stay was my husband had been sick as all get out the night before. No sleep, sick, finally got there around 9am that morning. He told me to take our daughter to the parks since it was our last day of vacation. I was completely torn, but knew it was the last day, and didn’t want to disappoint her. I put the do not disturb sign on the door, then we went to the front desk. I asked to speak with someone to let them know he wasn’t feeling well at all, was finally sleeping after being up all night sick, and to please wait until we were back so they could do their “security” check. The rudeness, complete lack of empathy, and pretty much “kiss my a!$” attitude was shocking. I walked away with my daughter, sat down on the bench, and just started sobbing. As if enough wasn’t going on, now this too? After that last trip, I vowed I would not go back to my beloved Disney. They had changed too much. So haven’t been back. But still brings me to tears to remember that last day, how horrible they had truly become, and I was nothing more than a $$$ sign to them now. Luckily discovered Universal, and haven’t looked back. Never will I give Disney my money again, and this includes no Disney +, no Hulu, no merchandise, no Dvd’s, anything, canceled it all when we returned, and unless a miracle happens and they revert back to their old ways of caring about their customers and patrons, I will not supprot them. Abigail Disney should be the one in charge, not the money grubbing morons who have ruined the DIsney brand and name!

I hate that the moderate and value resorts don’t have daily mousekeeping.

I let them clean the rooms daily. By doing this, Disney employees have work, they get paid and can support their families. My room gets clean, unlike at home where I’m the one cleaning. Along with the tip I leave, it’s a win win
