The coffers must be pretty empty, for Bob to have implemented a return to physical media. Too late, Bob. No one is interested in rewatching any of your terrible shows. Once was enough. Time to take down the picture of yourself in your bathroom, you.narcissist.

  2. Here’s what people need to understand, this isn’t for your average Disney fan. Disc sales are down over 90% from the DVD boom of the mid 2000s. The kinds of people who buy physical media are film geeks like me. We own several thousand films. We spend way too much money to have the best equipment possible. We love limited edition products with lots of bonus material. Physical media has become this very niche market where collectors will pay top dollar for stuff like this box set. I have already pre ordered two.

There’s no way the average American family can afford the set especially in our current economy where housing and the bare essentials are difficult to afford.

Who can afford a $1500 box set of movies when we can hardly afford to eat. 😳🙄

1,500 dollars for 1 set!?!?!? There’s no way I’m willing to even attempt to drop that kind of money! Besides I already have Disney Classics in my home media library. What the company needs to do, is very simple, get rid of Iger. I personally would have given myself a pay cut well before even cutting out jobs especially since Iger had promised there would be now layoffs to save money. Despite having access to all sorts of different streaming apps from those I pay for to those that are free (such as Tubi) I still buy dvd/blu-ray discs for my collection because there is know way of knowing if a movie or even a series of movies will leave their app or any app and get picked up by someone else. They also never should have done away with the premiere access feature for the theatrical movies, because that was helping them rake in dollars for those who either couldn’t get to theaters or those who have no theater to go to because it didn’t survive the 2 year closure. Me, I found it more worthwhile to drop the 29.99 for the movie, because then it meant I could enjoy it anytime I wanted to, and anywhere I wanted to. I did that for Cruella, Mulan, Raya and the Last Dragon, and Black Widow. The only movie I did not pay for was Jungle Cruise, that movie did not capture my attention so I waited to see that one when it became available to everyone on the app, and I’m glad I did, I did not enjoy that movie at all. Disney should not be walking away at all from home media releases, they should be focusing on them, especially as they cut programs from the app.

Like others commenting I too am a big advocate of physical 1080p and 4K blu ray releases as they’re nearly always the way to watch Films with the best A/V quality.

For me streaming is very much a secondary choice and I only use those services if they’re the only way to see a Film that I’m interested in.

As far as I’m concerned Film & TV studios like Disney should always prioritize releasing Films on physical media over putting them on Streaming services.

Also; it may not be economically feasible but if it is then I think the payment model of Streaming services should be pay-per-view and pay to own, not monthly subscription.

That way you only pay for what you want.

If Disney wants 2 be back on top they need 2 #recasttchalla , as a fully capable adult & parent 2 his child.

As a grandparent who is on a fixed income, there is no way I could ever afford that set. At one time I had all the Disney classics on VHS, but sadly that gave way to DVDs that were just too expensive to replace my VHS collection. I currently have Disney + not only for me by for my grandsons. If the price goes up anymore on the service, I will have to cancel. Disney needs to come up with something new and needs to stop being so greedy. They are pricing their fan away in all areas.

Dying to buy up those Star Wars releases. Mandalorian, Book of Fett, Andor and hopefully more like Clone Wars and Obi Wan!

Surely only those with the deepest pockets and no sense of discrimination about their choice of movies would spend $1499 on a blu ray box set of 100 movies?! And they’re not even in 4K!

Also; you can get a pretty good quality, branded and reasonably sized 4K UHD TV for that money. That’s what I’d spend $1499 on.

Most Disney fans will own at least half of these films. Why would you buy something you own half or more of. I am happy that Disney is starting to release the animated classics on 4k disc
