This has to be said and it will upset some people. About 98% of large people are to blame for their condition. In these are the same people that you see at the restaurants and food places scarfing down enough food to feed 3 or.4 people. There are interventions today that can help oneself to become healthier. The other side of this is that in order to accommodate the large people makes the rides more dangerous for the smaller people which is still a larger number of the population especially when you factor in the foreign guests. Instead of blaming everyone else for your size take accountability for yourself as all people need to do. The height issue is a different issue just as being very short you have no control but have accept that you will be limited on some things. But girth is an individual choice that can be controlled by ones self.
I’m a big guy (6′ 1″, 235 lbs), I’d rather know if I can fit and safely ride an attraction before wasting 45+ minutes in line and then finding out at the loading area. If it’s embarrassing then you have a pretty good idea that your body shape is “above average” . Just my opinion.
Unless you have an under active thyroid. Plus size riders pay the same cost sonthey should be able to ride all rides. Just like children have a different price because they cannot ride on all the attractions!
Yeah no. Some people do have hormonal or metabolic conditions which cause this kind of waking nightmare (the couple months old baby weighing as much as a toddler comes to mind; thankfully he got diagnosed and is doing well now). More commonly, it’s medication side effects. I was put on one once, which when they raised my dose, made me gain 20 pounds in two weeks. I lowered my dose back down as soon as I realized, but never lost the weight.
I eat like… half a sandwich for lunch. My stomach doesn’t take much. I can’t stand greasy foods; too many problems. But I can’t exercise either since if I over stress my body, it likes to have seizures.
Not all overweight people are the same. Attitudes like this are why doctors don’t listen to us either. “Oh, lose weight.” Second opinion: “You have stage 1 breast cancer.” That one happened to my mom. She’s cancer free now (knocks on wood) and I hope she stays that way.
Disney talks about impulsivity what about handicapped people , we pay the same admission price as everyone else but our choice of attractions is limited . So much for an inclusive environmen
they have ride vehicles for disabled people and special loading areas for us disabled people. you probably don’t see it because we don’t load in the same areas as you.

Not fat-shaming. All of us bigger people know we’re heavier than average, but some of us like to pretend we’re not and be outrage at the world for not rewarding our unhealthy choices.
Size is not the important thing here. Every park everywhere, every vehicle you ride in anywhere has size restrictions. You cannot make any thing that will fit everyone no matter what.
Being bigger myself there ate some rides no matter where I go I know I may not fit. Just move to the next. People have to be happy with themselves so trying a seat to be safe so be it. What is more embarrassing trying a seat and knowing to move on, or getting all the way to sitting on the ride and being asked to leave. Delaying everyone else’s ride. I have a few rides at Disney that are uncomfortable and I do not ride them. Sea world however even when they say they have seats for larger people very few could fit me. Yes I have been on TRON with no problems.
Many problems people have prevent people from riding rides.
Why shame them and companies with articles like these. It is what it is. SAFETY FIRST.
This one is a good comment. This is how I think. I haven’t encountered a ride I don’t fit in yet, but if I did, I’d just move along. My sister likes thrill rides and so do her kids so she runs into it sometimes. Whereas me… I’m not into roller-coasters and such.
What I have had to do is adapt based on my knee. I have a total knee replacement; I got it at 29 due to repeated injuries. Getting into and out of the Autopia cars in Disneyland was extremely painful, so I’ve made the call to simply not ride it anymore. It’s a fun ride, sure, but it hurts too much.
Unfortunately not Everything is for everyone. Some people may be to short to ride certain rides, some people may be to big to ride. There is always something that everyone can enjoy. Enjoy the rides you can do.
I think you are missing that Flight of passage also discriminates against guest of a certain size and shape as well as guests who are handicapped. That one especially could have come up with an accommodation.
Not Everything is for everyone, im bigger and couldn’t fit in the tron seat, that’s my problem not anyone else’s. i’ll just lose weight if i really want to fit in the themed seats. They have different seats in the back, they’re acting like they can’t ride at all when they very much can. if you’re gonna be mad that you can’t fit in a special seat then that’s your problem. if you’re embarrassed at people looking at you that’s your problem. people need to realize not everyone is staring at you for being overweight or disabled. most people don’t care and are minding their own business at the park.
Why do they got to cater to fatasses and ignore tall people. It’s all about the over weight. But like always us tall folk gets ignored. 6’3″ and 220 lbs. Not a fatass but tall and limited cause of that but they will never accommodate for that just for fatasses
Husband is 6‘4“ and has to sit sideways on many rides because of those long legs of his. He gets it. If all rides were made to accommodate his height, then shorter guests might not be safe. Same goes for weight extremes. I think in general disney goes out of its way to accommodate many abilities and conditions with special cars on most rides.
This is a pet peeve of mine. From drinking fountains to ” Rides” I personally cant believe some off the comments. Im 6’5″ and weight is right around 240, bmi is around 15 percent. My head fits in sunroofs, and I can drive most convertibles. I just get tierd of complaints, whining, and in general they me attitude. My size never bothers me its me, and my life. I have the experience in a stick ready to jump, and not fitting in a Rental cars. I enjoy my size and think the complaining of this or that is pathetic. For all the complaints remember ” adapt, overcome, and execute” its life.
I’m 6’8″ and 245lbs. Not overweight for my height, but my tallness prohibits some attractions. Personally, I would love to know whether I can fit on an attraction prior to wasting x amount of time, as Max has mentioned. It’s embarrassing trying to squeeze into the car/boat whatever, only to be told…in front of numerous guests…Sorry, you can’t ride cuz you don’t fit. Fortunately, I’ve been to Disney enough times to know what works and what doesn’t, but for other parks, it can be an issue.

Should not have to pay same price if all rides not available to overweight people

Keep going woke! Absurd already.

for this ride they have a car at the back people can ride in if they can’t fit in the light cycles. it isn’t like they can’t ride at all

I’m sure this is for safety reasons so I think it is a good idea. Could be a good incentive for folks to be more health conscience. Me included.

Good thing I can scroll through the 5 minutes of nonsense to get to the point. Sadly that’s life, everything cannot accommodate everyone.

Disney does not prohibit certain people from riding, they just cannot do so in the themed seats. They have to ride in the modified one.

No you don’t. Sometimes you have to wait in line 2 hours or more only to be told you are not able to fit

Use better grammar if you want to insult fat people. Using the word ‘got’ whe it should be ‘have’ is irritating in the extreme!
