  1. It needed activities you would have on a disney cruise, inside pool deck. Rotational dining. Kids/adults only activities. Less staring at electronic devices

They actually summed it up fairly well, but another part of the problem was that it didn’t do much for repeat visitors because the underlying story line was always the same and had the same outcome every time. Sure, some nuances might change based on interactions from guests, but the overall was nothing different.

And honestly, repeat guests are some of the ones who could afford this.

Poor marketing and a lack of explaining what the actual experience was. It is definitely worth the cost, but most people don’t know what they would even be paying for beforehand.

One of the commenters already hit on the second big issue – repeatability.
My son and I are both huge Starwars fans and did it together. When asked we always described it as one of the most incredible experiences we ever had, but could not recommend it to anyone as the price was just too high.
Couple that with limited repeatability since the story was the same each time and it was in trouble from the start.
Tieing together two of the other comments – more communication of what to expect would have been huge. This was not an experience “for all to enjoy”, you really had to go into it expecting to spend a lot of money to live out a 2-3 day fantasy of being in starwars. We had a lot of families on our voyage who seemed unhappy that they had to monitor (term used loosely) their kids for example.
The concept was good, the execution flawed and the pricing fatal.

  5. Yes, focusing on the sequel was a big mistake. I am a reseller of new Star Wars toys and role play items. I do a fair amount of business. Sequel item sales are a dud. No one wants Rey products, for instance.

I find “Star Wars Land” at Disneyland boring. Should have had more about the original movies. Only ref at all is Chewbacca
