Disney never needed a streaming service of their own. It was more business savy to license out their content libraries to Netflix, Amazon, etc….
Shows such as the Mandolorian Star Wars and Marvel could have been produced for air on ABC, keeping the network in place with primte time programming. And or the Disney Channel..
Mr. Bob,listen up and Tune In!…You didnt need to buy Fox, you dont need NatGeo, FX, and others…..You need a network!, say it with me now, A…B…C…., N….B…C… C….B….S…. P…..B…..S…
Ever watch the Disney Channel? So many commercials from competitor studio IPs.
Or why be exclusive? (all or nothing)…Disney could have offered specific show IPs to specific networks as exclusive…Disney is a motion picture, tv, production company, and theme park company, not a network!!!!
Here was a chance for Disney not to jump on the bandwagin….While other studios went all in on streaming…Disney could have marketed that and reclaimed network tv, and yes, cable tv, OMG cable tv, thats so not today….Well guess what. … whats so not today, is so tomorrow.
Look at the return of vinyl records, record players, rediscovered by a younger generation, and kept alive by dedicated generations of the past…
Disney, Mr. Bob, Network Exec at ABC, listen up.. prime time programming, have a sci fi nite, one night for game show/reality,… nites for comedy and drama… wow a whole week filled…how hard is that? Should i be getting the big bucks instead of the corporate and network.execs?
Saturday morning cartoons!!!!!!. Bring em back, Bring em back..!!!!Saturday afternoons, Sundays, sports, golf, football, etc…Sunday evening…Wonderful World of Disney…
Oh yea Youtube, a free platform for programming…to appeal to those streamers and thats where it should have stopped for Disney..it would have been cost effective, yea, hardly any to no cost on Youtube…
Mr. Bob, time to tape the cord that was cut for streaming..Network and Cable.is where its at…
Channel.your inner vibe Mr. Bob!
