Right???? I grew up in San Jose too….. I miss Santa’s Village and Frontier Village! Those were fun when I was a kid and both were demolished for “development “
Sad to hear Raging Waters is closed. I used to live nearby and my kids went there all the time. Even their school would have the end of year party at the park.
I’m not sure what the city has in store for the future generations. The kids cannot go outside and play anymore due to increase in all sorts of crimes as well as the fact that people think they have to get to the corner in a resendential area at 50 plus MPH. We need more outdoor activities for kids. When kids are out in the world, they learn social skills and they learn responsibility while also being rewarded with a good time. I believe a kid should have balance, work and rewards, just as an adult should. Work being simply picking up their toys to finishing school homework in a timely manner and or household chores. Rewards being a fun safe place a parent or parents can take them where they can be physically active, laughing and smiling and having a good time outside of the home.

I use to reside in San Jose. I had a season pass for Raging waters. I mostly enjoyed the wave pool and the lazy river. It’s very relaxing just floating around.
This has a bad effect on San Jose….with the closing of Great America there will be little to do in the South Bay Santa Clara/San Jose area. Residents are shocked by the decision to close but we should of all seen it coming with a reduction in park hours as well as some issues regarding maintenance. There was a lot they could of done to keep profits up. Raging Waters I believe made the decision to close when they let the lease on the Sacramento Raging waters expire. Recently there was a comment by a city council member to make it a skate park so that everyone could enjoy the area. Not everyone skates and actually brings little tax revenue to the city as Raging Waters brought tax revenue to the city. Hopefully the city of San Jose and Raging Wates might come to an agreement to look for a buyer so that residents and visitors to the Bay Area can keep enjoying Raging Waters for many years to come…
I think it was. Totally. Wrong of them to have closed the water park .especially for the really hot summer days when the young kids need to have a place to go to cool off
WHY exactly is it closing? They’re not saying. It can’t be lack of attendance in a city with a population of 1 million. This makes me sad. Some of my best memories from childhood are when I came here with the neighborhood kids.
No way my family loves this place. This was the only water park we would go to. Well at least we were able to visit last summer and we had a blast. Would of definitely made it this summer if I knew they were gonna close for good.

I remember the loss of Frontier Village. I’m glad I won’t be here for what awaits this country if something doesn’t change soon.
