We took our 4 year old great experience not worth the money even close. It was so neat to feel inside the story but there was no incentive to go back. It was fun but there wasn’t a lot to do going from Disney world to the hotel.
I enjoyed my ‘cruise’ on the Halcyon last year but it’s tragic how so many problems, both technical and creative were allowed to damage the reputation and ultimately destroy the promise of such a fun idea. I hope they open her back up as a simple SciFi futuristic hotel rather than an overblown dinner theater whodunnit.
The Galactic Starcruiser was an amazing feat for the imagineers and cast members. It’s a trip that will ruin every other vacation we take. Nothing will equal it’s ingenuity, attention to detail, delicious food, talented cast members, and overall unique dream vacation. I am so disappointed in Disney execs in making this wrong decision to close it. They didn’t market it right, nor give it a chance to take off. There’s a reason that this experience has garnered the highest satisfaction ratings EVER from Disney guests…the creative team and cast members knocked this one out of the park. Shame on the higher-ups for not fostering it and allowing more people to get to experience this in the future.
