It also comes out a week before the new Hunger Games movie which will steal a lot of the female audience. It’s really a bad spot for the movie. It is sandwiched between two big name action/adventure films. In fact if Disney doesn’t move the date on this I almost have to think they want it to fail especially with the strike still going on. How are you going to have your first all-female team super hero movie and then also have it be the only MCU movie in 15 years not to get an IMAX release? Either they have a lot of faith in this or none at all.

Why do u assume people are excited about the new hunger games. Its a prequel and there isnt the craze for young adult movies like there was before. Dune while liked isnt that popular and the next film isnt likely to do huge. So long as the marvels is good they will be fine

    1. Absolutely!
I tried to watch Dune (at home) and lost interest.
As far as the Hunger Games…not my kind of movie.
However, I will be going to see The Marvels.
I will never let the hatred and jealousy of horrible people (you know who you are) dictate what I watch in the theatre!

You’ve already sussed why this movie will fail. People are “Marvelled” out, they’ve had enough of superhero films. We’ve had them for over 30 years & all the good stories have been told. Plus most of these female heroines have not had satisfactory character arc development. They’re awesome from the outset, no antagonist ever presents a real threat & this is just boring.

“The most likely explanation for the dissent toward Larson is, whether most fans want to admit it or not, sexism.”

She literally outright said she didn’t want White men reviewing her movie.

That’s a racist and sexist remark.

Yet, for some reason, all these sexist white guys are just fine with the other thirty odd heroic women in the Marvel Universe, both the white ones as well as the women of color. For some reason, they only display their sexism toward Larson. Isn’t that weird?

Good old review bombing and sexism, the get-out-of-jail cards of every wokester movie site.

First of all, people got tired of MCU movies. Never thought I will say it myself, but watching new MCU releases is not that fun anymore. Are they so much worse than the old ones? Maybe not, but they are not good enough to keep me interested.
    Second point would be fanbase.
Like it or not, but people.readng comic books in the ’70 ’80, ’90 and even ’00 were mostly young boys reading stories about heroes they wanted to be. If you see which characters were most popular, you can hardly find any of the Marvels among them. It is not very good planning to place your hopes in a product that does not meet expectations of key customer. Disney tries to secure new fanbase among female viewers obviously, but will they be successful with this project? I am not sure about that.
