Last fall, a friend of mine bid on (and won) the dinner with Pete at Flying Fish from the auction for GKTW as part of a fundraiser. The friend had been a huge Pete fan for years paid through the NOSE for this experience. Fast forward – nobody ever contacted them about arranging the dinner. The person reached out, and was given Pete’s email address. This was November/December. They were going down in Feb and wanted to arrange it for one of the nights in Feb. Multiple emails to Pete, no replies. The person made the reservation – continued to reach out, no replies. Ever. Finally reached out to GKTW and asked THEM to contact Pete. They also emailed Pete repeatedly, couldn’t get in touch with Pete either. The person asked for a refund as Pete never was in touch, never made good on the auction item. It wasn’t even weeks after the auction was over that Pete went dark. Did he ever even intend on doing the dinner? Was it supposed to have been on DUT’s dime and the credit cards were closed down? We will never know… but to those who are nay sayers, this just happened Fall 2022/Winter 2023.
I’ve been listening and watching the Dis Unplugged for many years. After reading about the allegations, I unsubbed and cancelled my Patreon. Their weekly YouTube show has become very contentious this past year anyway. They all seem to dislike each other. The new host seems to dislike everyone. I find it very hard to believe that those in the upper levels of management/ownership were completely unaware of the behavior of Pete towards young male staff. It will all come out in the wash. I just cant watch them anymore. What the victims went through is so tragic, sad and upsetting
