There are many infections that are transmitted in such situations. Not just Covid. It’s a chance to take when you are in such an environment as Disney or any other park. Sinus infections, flu and many others please don’t Covid shame Disney.
Both my cousin and I got Covid in Disney Was elf in June. Neither of us were very sick, and almost didn’t even test because it seemed like a cold. I was very tired so I tested. I was probably contagious my last day in the parks, but I know I was as I drive home. I did not pass it to anyone here in NJ so I assume I was more contagious in Floridia and traveling.
Well, we just got back from Disney this past weekend and of course my wife got Covid. We did not of course take any major precautions, but luckily so far I have not shown any signs and will test on Saturday morning if still symptom free. She thought it was a cold but decided to test just to be on the safe side. I have anemia so would not notice the tired thing either way. It does seem coincidental though that for about two weeks after the kids go back to school, the Covid and cold and flu are rampant.
Came home in August with Covid. Daughter started to get sick down there so we took her to Urgent Care. They said she had Pharyngitis. Never tested her for Covid. No precautions for it in the waiting room either. Didn’t even consider Covid so it was a surprise to us when we all arrived home with it! Florida is just turning a blind eye towards it. Pharyngitis my eye- $175 later for a visit, z-pack and lidocaine. None of which helps Covid. Those doctors hadn’t a clue what they were doing.
Just returned from Orlando and visiting all 4 Disney parks the week of August 12 to the 18th, 2023 and I flew home on the 18th and tested positive the next morning after having cold/flu symptoms the later half of the prior day (18th). I think it definitely was one of the newer variants because I had fevers, sore throat, runny nose, bodyaches, and a weird rash on my leg! I did also lose my taste and smell for a few days. We had a lot of fun, but I did notice all the sick people around us in line constantly blowing their noses and coughing. There is no doubt I caught it standing in one of the many lines. Ack! This is the first time I’ve had it in the last three years of Covid. I got it at Disney World.
Had great family trip end of August. Day we left one adult felt ill and wore N95 on plane home. Next day at Urgent Care tested positive for Covid. Adult who shared room with him was negative for Covid day we left, but positive 2 days later. Both quite ill – more like a bad flu without the nausea. One had rash start on lower legs early in trip. Week later rash still there and itchy. Other family of 5 in adjoining room seem to have dodged the bullet.
My family just spent 5 days at Disney and came home so very sick because they have Covid. This is just crazy. Disney is such a great place, they need to try more sanitization measures. Their babies are only 3 and 19 months.
We went end Aug – 9 Sep and started getting a cold on the flight back – next day tested positive for Covid. Wonder if a new strain as felt so much worse this time, lots of symptoms I didn’t experience last time and the whole family has it! We stayed onsite too. Great trip but suffering now!
My daughter and her husband just got back from a 20th anniversary trip to WDW, and they have both tested positive for COVID. They were both vaccinated and had the booster. They are saying it feels like the flu. It is causing me to rethink a trip we have scheduled for January with myself, my husband, and our two grandchildren, especially since my grandson is asthmatic. There is almost no way to social distance in the parks, so we may have to find somewhere more wide open to travel!
