    It’s spelled drought not draught.

This isn’t cost cutting. It’s cost shifting. No value is being added. Public traded companies are the bane of our world. Always got to squeeze out that percentage, even if it drives away the customers. My family is not visiting unless Disney cuts the costs as much as our family had to cut value over every public traded entity trying to squeeze out the next quarter. We don’t need Disney to live, and the prices are killing our interest. Pretty soon the kids will age out.

We have been coming since 1972. I remembered when it was wonderful and family loved. Disney has lost that. Since 2023 when we retired we were coming 3 to 4 times a year. Celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary there
Now we can’t come anymore we just can’t afford it. Can’t afford the tickets the hotels. We would come at Halloween party and Christmas parties. Can’t afford that either. We regret no more Disney for us. My house is full of Disney. That’s my memories.

I agree with cutting the size portions with their meals and snacks. All of them are oversized and way too big for one person which causes them to charge more decrease the size and decrease the price. Problem solved, at least in that area more food gets wasted at Disney then gets eaten. How are.

  4. Price shock!!! When we visited Disney world last we got tickets for $350 for a 10 day hopper pass with no expiration date. Food per day for 6 people was around $300 and souvenirs about $300. I would need to mortgage my home to go there. SORRY Mickey never seeing you again. Cant afford you. Walt Disney is rolling over in his grave seeing the price explosion. He always wanted it to be affordable for ALL. Bye bye Disney!!!😭😥

We took our family to Disney eight years ago and had the best time. We stayed on-site at the Yacht Club, and bought a dining plan, which we thoroughly enjoyed. But I priced our 5-day trip recently, and a two week trip to France next summer came in at about the same cost – and that includes airfare! The lack of dining plans, $800/night hotel rooms, $1000/day park fees, and the miserable and expensive Genie means that we will not be returning to Disney anytime soon.

I expect to see sales and multi-day opportunities, but I don’t see Disney cutting the actual price of tickets. You can mess with rack rates at hotels and experiences, but once you drop the actual ticket price, it’s hard to recover.

The other amusement park companies have exceptional sales to get people to buy multi park tickets. Disney will have to do that.

The problem is, Disney is bleeding money on multiple fronts. Disney+ is far from profitable, they lost $1B on 4 movies, TV ad revenues are way down, ESPN has always been a money loser, etc They carry $44B in debt. Hard to cut a revenue stream.

Um… you do realize neither STK nor House of Blues are owned by Disney. Disney has no control over their pricing.

Reducing snack prices from $6 to $3 is not a deal. It’s inventory reduction. They are getting rid of goods that are about to expire, if they haven’t already. Disney does not cut prices, just for the sake of cutting prices.

Cost saving last vist 2022 was $3088 for 6 nights 7 days food cost $30 dollars per breakfast, $6 snacks water, lunch 30 snack $6 dinner $46.00This was daily cost for one person image my daughter and son in law with grandchildren 12 and 16 ! There will be no trip back necg year even after trip I billed 329 after the fact. If they really want bring back families include food program!

Considering one football ticket to the Green Bay/ Chicago game this year ranges in price from $500-$2,000, plus parking and food, I’ll take the Disney World value.

“She did, however, indicate that Disney is looking at a number of ways to cut costs behind the scenes, including “reducing portions” at Disney Parks restaurants.
McCarthy noted that this would be “good for some people’s waistlines” when they visit Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.”

That’s cost cutting but not for guests. Thats food cost to the restaurant that they are addressing by using smaller portions and hiding it behind snarky comments about how “it’s good for some guests waistlines”

Comments like this seem like a bit of a shot at larger guests for such a company that consistently played the DEI card and hints at what they really think about it. It’s more of a complete money grab for the dining division, raising prices, cutting portions and telling you it’s for your own good.

What’s good for me is saving my money and eating off property at this point, and I suspect that many others will continue to do the same.

I have no plans to visit disney anytime soon. Seriously do they think just because they cut the cost of a couple cookies it would give me the incentive to go back? It’s not what it used to be, and may never be again so we’ll just have great memories of the old Disney that made it fun and affordable for everyone.

Disney jumped the stark when they bought FOX and also when they F-Ed the customers, because the customers F-Ed Disney in the end! Additionally vloggers don’t invite guests to visit the parks just the opposite!

My Family hasn’t been since 2005. The family is bigger and prices just got too expensive for us. Then the cost of traveling 15 hours from Arkansas has put a damper on our vacations there. We miss it and they have added so much more but these days priorities change 😕

Interesting to see but I e completely lost interest. They are building so many new cool things in Vegas I’m excited to see this year. Restaurants incrediblely more thematic w better food like Vanderpump paris or Superfrico. A fraction of Disney I got expensive rent to pay
