We have had 3 items come up “missing ” on three different trips. All three times we were asked if the item could have possibly been accidentally knocked off in to the trash. 2 items were replaced by Disney the 3rd was not. I cansay for sure that none of the items were near trash cans in the rooms. Only one of the items was expensive and yes it’s partially my fault for not putting it in the safe, but then again, if it’s not your property don’t touch it.

My grandson’s earbuds were left on his nightstand. When we came back to the room they were gone. I called management, he called back & said that the housekeeping did not clean near there so they couldn’t have taken them. The next day my daughter found them inside her suitcase, where they never would have been. At least we got them back! We told him to never leave them out again. We used to be able to trust Disney staff, but not anymore.

  4. I was a housekeeper for 26 years, 23 at Disney, and I never took anything from the guests. It is something that depends on the person. If you were brought up with honesty, and a good heart stealing is out of the question. I don’t know about other people, but it could have been anyone. Sometimes when the guests leave too early, managers, maintenance, and anyone that have the key can be the culprit

Hiring illegal aliens encourages this behavior

Definitely if I go back I will be bringing hidden cameras and they won’t be able to see them if they attempt to steal from my family I will make sure they pay dearly for their mistakes I’m not a person that you want to make mad!

No matter where I stay I make sure to not ask for housekeeping. If I need anything extra I make the phone call from my room while I’m in my room to recieve it. I know there is no guarantee that HC won’t go into my room but it could work

  8. At Old Key West this week. Had people stop in the room at least twice today. This together with our cleaning person last year letting herself in our room alone and with her large purse gives us pause for concern.
