No, I won’t be going to see any of the Little Mermaid remakes. What I think needs to happen going forward is that Disney needs to create NEW movies! Leave the classics alone!
Sweety, it was a flop. It barely broke even at the box office and ranks one of the lowest in sales for a live action. I’m an afro-latina and have loves TLM since I was 6 years old. The movie was not good.
Educate yourself a little bit I promise it won’t hurt. Look up the ORIGINAL Disney stories black people back then had no rights they way they do now. Just saying
Disney should make the little mermaid with Indian people from India. And then Chinese people and then Japanese people make each movie with a new flavor. Oh I forgot Eskimo little mermaid..
The more Disney tries to remake classics the more money they lose.Come on Disney you have to be kidding yourselves. You are going in the wrong direction. Come up with some new ideas.
I have to say Leave the classic’s alone, I kinda stopped watching after the live action Aladdin cuz what ever how Bob Iger tries to milk them out instead come up with new fresh stories like the “gigantic movie” oh wait he canceled that one.
Come up with something original and stop “remaking” classics that aren’t remakes. Nothing to do with race, but a true “remake” has the same character types in them or its just a bootleg version. If you want to make a new movie like this then use a different plot and story. We don’t need anymore bootlegs of original stories.
If you want a black mermaid then how about you go make your OWN black Mermaid story instead of ruining European culture all in the name of “Diversity”, hmmmm? How do people NOT get this simple point yet?
Also, why do we need another remake of this movie? The first remake was bad enough. Ffs, please leave this alone, Disney. They deserve to go bankrupt if they don’t stop with this nonsense.

To, not too.
Try education.

Why are so many people defending this trash?

Lazy. Instead of highlighting Africa’s rich cultural heritage, just keep blackwashing traditional European stories.

Of all the movies to say “Let’s have a do-over”. They pick this one? If the fans don’t like it, they don’t like it.

The sing-a-long will be as big a flop as the live-action remake. Maybe even a bigger flop.

I’m sorry but Aladdin brought in more at box office. I haven’t seen this remake, but sure won’t be seeing any of of its sequels.
Chris

Call me crazy…but it’s almost like people are sick of movies being “remade” get a new idea and maybe that would help.
Aimee
Disney missed a huge opportunity with all the Barbie hype not to make a Toy Story Barbie and Ken spinoff movie! Now that I could get excited about!
Shinji
Does anyone really care?
