  1. Something is wrong. That’s way too many animals dying. We don’t have an endless supply of marine life. I vote to close the marine park.

  2. I think they should be freed.Shut it all down.If you want to see the marine land take a cruise or go diving. They we’re never ment to be contained.Let them live in their natural habitat.God put them where they belong. Not in containers.Free the marine life!!!!!!!!

I have one question? How many Whales, Dolphins and other have died in the wild. I bet more of them have Died. I believe taking an Heathy Animals should not be removed from their home Waters! In say.
No Whale or Dolphin in human care by birth can not be released. RESCUE, REHAB AND RELEASE IF POSSIBLE . SeaWorld Rescue program is releasing more Animals back in the Wild every year.

Whales orca s and other whale mammals belong in the ocean they are intelligent beings captivity for them is the same as chaining an elephant to a post we have all sorts of video and audio tools available to see them & study them . The whale come to see us in boats is that not good enough.we as a human race should be taking care of our oceans air and planet so we can all eat be safe breathe the air and find ways to not overheat our beautiful planet that God has given us to take Care of .

This park should be closed, theres obviously neglect and other things going on there, for that many to be dying. Please no more whales or dolphins in shows or captivity anymore.

    1. Necole

      Absolutely

I’m completely against it just for human entertainment. Shame on them and shame on us, includes me as well. I have partaken in my share of Marineland since I live in Buffalo, Ny. We went there a lot as children. However, around the age of about 14 I just knew something wasn’t right with keeping these beautiful creatures in captivity just for viewing pleasure.

Let them be free, the way they are meant to be. Instead of keeping them captive, if we want to see them, we should go to them in their natural habitat. Companies can just as easily make money from us that way and entertain us. Let them live free!

      1. Necole

        👏👏🖐️

Yes I’m against it because it’s not fair to the mammals which is what we are talking about, not fish. I think they need to be released with their own kind so they can live their lives. I like that the kids get to see them and you can swim with them as well, but I don’t want to see them die

Shut the damn places down, and release these animals. We know far to much about animals in captivity. Sadly this ugly world is all about money first, not what is right.

  9. Stephanie

All they sea mammals should be released to an appropriate sanctuary and allowed to live in a free manner. No more sea mammals or animals should be captured and put into this sea facilities. It’s time to end this Antiquated behaviour and move forward and behave in a humane manner.

  10. Please Free ALL the Whales and Other Marineland Animals! 😡Dolphins and Sealions and ALL! They Deserve to Be Free to life their life as we do! And Any Ither Animals in Capacity Period!!

It should be pointed out that Dawn had a major part to play in her own demise. Never antagonize or try to buddy up to an animal you have already angered. Leave them alone and try the next day
She refused his reward because she have him the wrong directional command. His blind eye was up so he missed his cue. He got mad. I don’t blame him. That is like doing a job and the client refuses to pay you.
Then, she did not tell anyone where she was going. Big No No. Even bigger No No: she got in to the water with an angry animal. No spotters were with her. She thought she knew it all and paid for her arrogance with her life.
My Chow Chow develops an attitude with me, I put her in a secure room with yard access and leave her alone for a long time. After that, we try again.
She never should have got in the water eith an angry animal.
Let that be a lesson everyone learns from, please.
As for marine life staying in captivity, it would depend heavily on any injuries that they had. An injury that eould single them out as easy prey for killing, it would be better for them to stay at a facility where they can be an animal ambassador. The ones that can be returned to the wild, let them be free.
Otter 841? You nevrr taught her how to make friends. Now, she is trying to figure out where the beings with green hands are and getting frustrated. Make the surfboards taste bad to her and she will stop. Don’t punish her by relentlessly trying to trap her. She is way too smart for that.

Free them! These animals are suffering and needlessly dying! We are selfish humans by putting our entertainment (& greed) above their wellbeing & life. There was a day that I believe we truly didn’t know better, but now we do! In 2023 there is simply no excuse to keep them captive… and ‘breeding to preserve them’ is an excuse. Maybe they’ll eventually disappear in the wild, but who would argue that dying free is better than dying as a helpless innocent hostage?!

I don’t even consider myself an ‘activist’ and this sickens me.

  13. Todd Hudson

    Me to

  14. ANIMALS ARE NOT FOR HUMAN ENTERTAINMENT !!!
THEY ARE LIVE SENTIENT BEINGS !!!

  15. Cain

I’d rather u put me in a prison for life than keep one single marine animal in captivy, for the simple reason of money greed these animals live horrible tortured lives.

  16. Aide Kopito

I don’t believe wild animals should be held in captivity at all. There is no facility that can replicate what they need to live healthy and enriched lives.

  17. AD

I have refused to visit captive marine life since seeing Blackfish. I had no idea thwir poir living conditions. If this many whales and dolphins have died at this park, i feel that shoyld be enough to close them down. They’ are living, breathing, feeling animals that deserve better. Shame on them.

  18. Dawn Carson

I wish I would be able to see one in the wild, but today’s technology you can see them anywhere on the internet living in the wild living their best lives. I’d rather view that way than seeing them doing tricks at a theme park. Definitely should not be in captivity. Ashamed to say I visited Sea world Orlando as a child. Free Willy changed my mind on all marine life in captivity. Tragic. I’m 55 now and hate to see any animal caged or kept.

  19. Winon

It is archaic to still have healthy whales in captivity. With all the evidence pointing to reduced quality of life and stress on them. FREE WILLEY!!!!!

  20. Amy

I hope you will consider releasing marine animals to rescue organizations. Animals are not put on earth to entertain us. They should be enjoyed in their natural habitat.

  21. Kim kaberle

All ma.mals should be set free they should never ever been captured at all

  22. Deedee D.

Stop this madness. Either release these sentient beings from captivity or transfer them to a real sanctuary.

So disgusted that animals are still gravely exploited in 2023!

  23. Stop using these beautiful mammals for entertainment. It’s time to stop this inhumane practice!

  24. Caus

    Close the park

  25. Leave animals live free people are killing the earth and animals and all the beauty that goes with it !!

  26. CAROL

The fact that so many whales have died in such a short period of time …..murdered actually, is clear proof that they should absolutely never be kept in captivity. That goes for all sea creatures and Zoo’s too!!

  27. Melody

Wild creatures do not need to entertain people- let’s leave them be free

  28. Absolutely against!

  29. Theresa

This is a travesty. If ppl want to see marine life tune into Nat Geo where you can see them in the wild and learn some Tru facts about our aquatic family.

  30. Mary

There is no reason to keep these large beautiful animals in captivity. Slavery should be outlawed for both humans and large species.

  31. Periel

I am completely against keeping marine animals captive. These animal need to be free and they need to be protected from fishing nets, and Navy sonar. What humans have done to nature is inexcusable. Exploitation for greed is just evil. The people who go to these parks should be ashamed.

The fact that people take this story at face value shows a complete lack of research. Firstly, Blackfish was found to be riddled with falsehoods. It interviews disgruntled/ fired animal trainers and pushes a very specific agenda meant to emotionally charge it’s viewers against parks. Tillicum along with many of the orcas in captivity come from a lineage of one specific male whale who was special needs. Breeding retarded whales in captivity will ultimately lead to disproportionate aggression but regulations prevented them from capturing other male orcas so his sperm was used. As for Lolita, she outlived the average life expectancy of wild female orcas by 7 years. How could people assume she was mistreated given her lifespan. As for Canada, I can’t speak for their regulations but housing animals in captivity is extremely expensive and they receive incredible care in the US. Teams of veterinarians and scientists care for these animals. Lastly, disbanding sea world and other aquariums will result in the loss of billions of dollars in conservation funding. Revenue from patronage to sea world and aquariums generates this funding. Not only that but how do you inspire a connection with nature without the ability to be up close and personal with it. Do we really want more people to watch social media videos of influencers touching whales to become a norm? Consider the impacts. Increased tourism is destroying coral reefs all over the world as being up close and personal with nature has become a push on social media. It’s a shame how emotionally charged people are about this issue showing a complete lack of forethought. We cannot interpret that thoughts or feelings of whales nor should we personify human qualities onto them. If people feel these whales are jailed then I ask them, do they also consider a backyard to be a jail for dogs?
