For years, Indiana Jones required the coming together of Lucas, Spielberg and Ford. For years we knew this. Everyone with a brain knew this. When the Big Three became just Ford, fandom was scared. Many like me did not even show up. On top of this you base your villian on Werner Von Braun. No matter what his his past, he put us on the moon. He did not steal a time machine and try to bring back Mr. Hilter. The movie bombed. It got what it deserved.

Personally, I thought it was the best Indiana Jones movie since Raiders of the Lost Ark. I don’t know what more anyone could expect from a summer blockbuster. I get the feeling people are watching things looking for stuff to criticize(frequently through a political lense) rather than just relaxing and experiencing what is.

I agree. It was a good movie, and time travel is just as believable as some of the previous stories. Why is it considered a flop? I saw it 3 days ago, at a weekday matinee, and the theater was half full, a month after its premier. You can’t judge a movie by the opening weekend gross.

Exactly! I’m not sure what people are complaining about. Was it not woke enough? I’ve been a huge fan from day one and I loved this film. I’m going to see it again before it leaves theatres.

This wasn’t like any of the Indiana Jones franchise before it and I’m sorry I saw it. It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that such a great series what’s so poorly done especially since it’s with the last movie. If you haven’t seen it, don’t. Just assume that “Indiana Jones and the last crusade” was the last movie of the series and you’ll be much happier.

I have seen it twice now and enjoyed it more the second time than the first. It was very entertaining and had many “feels” moments for the characters.

You can always find something wrong, from whatever lens you are viewing a movie from. I try to avoid that when possible & just enjoy the ride.

The ending with Marion, reaching back to the first movie, was epic and a great ending for the Indiana Jones adventures. I enjoyed the ride with Indiana Jones.

  6. Robert Hungerford

    I enjoyed meeting Archimedes.

I believe that it is the negative hype around this movie that killed it, especially from those who haven’t seen it even before it was released. The Crystal skull I admit was weak and people were expecting weaker with an older Indiana Jones for the Dial of Destiny. I went to see it anyway and honestly was surprised. I found the writing and acting to be good; it wasn’t overly “woke.” The character of Phoebe Waller Bridge was well done and didn’t take away from Indiana Jones’ character. The ending seemed to move seamlessly from the rest of the plot. I completely enjoyed the experience of watching it and would rank it second to Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Ruined film for me because I haven’t seen it yet .

I loved this movie, and I’m not sure why you keep referring to the time travel as “whacky” and “zany.” It’s not a slapstick marx bros movie. In temple of doom a guy got his heart ripped out and survived without issue long enough to be burned alive. It’s a movie, suspend belief and enjoy it.
