A record player couldn’t spin this much. It was a bomb on every level and Indy 5 is going to lose 100’s of millions for Disney.

    1. Anne France Tremege

My friends and I really enjoyed the movie. I highly recommend seeing it to all.
Do not understand the negative reviews.

      1. Curtis

        Same. Definitely worth the see.

      2. Dana

As a long time fan of the Indiana Jones franchise the latest one is just okay. I didn’t hate it or love it.

    2. Doug

Clearly, you did not see the same movie I did. True, it isn’t the best in the series, but it is definitely better than Crystal Skull. It’s a bit too frenetic for my taste, but it’s a fitting conclusion to Indy’s journey.

  2. Beth Moss

Disney’s marketing failed miserably. It was a good movie. It was hyped as woke, which scared away audiences. It was a good solid movie. Lots of fun. Lots of Easter eggs for the die hard fans. I’m hoping word of mouth will boost its box office in the conking weeks.

    1. I agree 💯%. Fantastic movie. Much better than I was expecting. I might even say I’d place it #3 behind Raiders and Last Crusade.

    2. Soren

You clearly didn’t see the film. It has everything but an advertisement for the Democratic party in it. It completely ignored it’s base to the same extent as Bud Light.

    3. Chris

I don’t get the woke label. It was a fitting conclusion to a great movie serial.

  3. Helen

Go woke go broke. Turning a strong hero into a feeble weak one, and bringing in an arrogant, disparaging, “strong woman” to take over, won’t work. Lecturing the audience about capitalism in an entertainment movie, beggars belief. It’s all killed off creativity as well.

    1. Billy

Look at you with all the cute right- wing-grievance buzzwords.

      1. Backcountry164

Word of mouth is why most people aren’t going. Most people don’t seem to share your opinion.

      2. Backcountry164

Don’t you m see mean trigger words?? How long is your list and how do you keep track of them all??

    2. Daniel

You obviously have no idea what you’re talking about and, I would assume, haven’t seen the movie. Helena is no different than the women who came before her (except for Willie). Indy was not shown to be weak and feeble, but realistically an aged man who’s had a lot of hardships, but even still is able to do a lot more than others his age. And one joke about capitalism isn’t lecturing. Even with that being in the trailers, it still emitted laughs in the screening I was in.

      1. Thank you, Brother Daniel. I finally got to see the movie for myself for the first time, & I have only one word to describe my overall feelings for Indiana Jones & the Dial of Destiny: SATISFIED!!! So, to all the so-called haters out there, & you know who you are, maybe think just before you speak next time! Or better yet, watch the damn movie just before you give an opinion first, alright?! Thank you again, Brother Daniel. God bless! 😔🙏

      2. Peter

Sound Of Freedom is a more important film about a very serious subject.

      3. Curtis

As a conservative… I loved this movie. These days no one wants to talk, just attack. Both sides do it. Very sad.

      4. Beverlee J Maschek

Me, my husband and a friend really enjoyed it. Sure, he is old for real, but he is still sexy for 80! There were many exciting scenes!

    3. Dan

Movies have been lecturing about capitalism and
a myriad of other things since they could talk. It’s this country’s political climate that’s ruining it. Everyone bristling and eager to find offense.

  4. Pete

The world’s negativity has to stop! This movie was the perfect ending to the franchise and Harrison Fords “Indiana Jones”! Don’t miss out from seeing it on the big screen, it was worth it.

    1. notmyprob

This movie was an insult to the character. Every Indy fan should resolve to never pay to watch it. Protect your memories, and dot see it at all. If you must, but a ticket for another movie, then pop in to watch this disaster of movie.

      1. Jerry

After wasting my money, seeing”Castle Of The Crystal Skull,” I’m not going the make same mistake again. Phoebe Waller Bridge & her birth mark are both annoying!

        1. I’ll pray for you, my brother! And not just for some movie that you’ve seen or haven’t seen or whatever. No, I’m just praying for you & for others like yourself, that you have your own mind, to make your own decisions for yourselves, rather than being manipulated by the vast majority of others around you, who you clearly have to rely on to help make up your mind(s)for, well… EVERYTHING, really! Just WOW!! 🙄

    2. Shawn

I agree. Was a great movie.

    3. Daniel

I completely agree. I believe people who hate on it so much wanted it to fail and, more than likely, haven’t even seen it and based their feelings toward it based on anti-Disney/anti-woke rhetoric and false rumors that have been spreading around for several months (none of which ended up being true). This movie was pure Indiana Jones filled with more heart and character development than most of the others Plus the ending was sooo good (which, by the way, was not anywhere near how the rumors suggested and was shot early in production so it wasn’t some last minute change).

      1. Tommy

Read the retoric saw it anyway. Great movie, absolutley enjoyed it.

      2. Amen, my brother! Well said. I couldn’t agree more! 👍

    4. Yes it was. The sound was incredible in the theatre.

Great story. Great acting. Fantastic movie.

      1. You have great taste, my friend! 😔🙏

    5. Totally agreed! I had the ENTIRE front row to myself & everything! Heck, I’m not even ashamed to admit it, but I actually got pretty emotional near the end! Needless to say, totally worth it! 👍

  5. Kay

It was fun! I don’t go to Indy movies for anything but a good time and that’s what 5 delivered. Enough Easter eggs to keep me smiling, enough originality to keep me engaged. If you’re a fan go see it you won’t be disappointed.
And I think it’s premature to call it a fail. People, especially older people, still aren’t going to the movies. Let’s see the numbers after it hits streaming.

    1. Jake Soywalker

completely wrong in every way Boring, insulting to the character–people are turning out for good movies. they just don’t go to bad movies, which is all that Disney makes.

      1. Daniel

Because you said that Disney only makes bad movies, that proves to me that your opinion doesn’t matter. You already have a bias toward it and I wonder if you ever even saw it. It was as much as a thrill ride as the best Indy movies and Indy was great. The problem is that people would rather believe the trolls than those who actually saw the movie (it currently has an 88% audience score).

    2. Debby

Indy aged. gracefully, but was still the same Indy. Loved it, can’t wait to see it again!

  6. notmyprob

It’s not a failure of marketing. its not going to break even. another Failure by KK, another franchise killed. Another terrible movie, a completely predictable failure. No one wanted Fleabag Jones. no one wanted to see, yet again, LucasFilm degrade a treasured character to uplift a newer, inferior character.

    1. Daniel

You’re right that it wasn’t an issue with marketing. But it’s not KK’s fault either. The problem is haters who l, for some reason, want to hate on anything Disney or (in this case specifically) Kathleen Kennedy. Waller-Bridge’s character was a great character and well acted. I never felt that they degraded Indy but honored him and his legacy, and never did I feel they were trying to lift her up above him. I’m guessing you didn’t see the movie because you figured you already “knew” what it was going to be (and probably based on false rumors at that)

      1. Backcountry164

Most people don’t share your opinion. That’s ok. You don’t have to be offended. You don’t have to make up a bunch of excuses to explain why most people don’t like something that you do.

      2. Mike J

The movie was bad. Has nothing to do with anything Disney political it was just god awful

  7. Andrew

Im not a negative person but this world is going in a negative direction. Mass shootings almost every day..global warming, people fleeing scenes after hitting pedestrians..etc….then most films today especially from Disney..are preaching a message…a message that promotes and most cases stirs controversy and animosity in a scandalous way to sell tickets

    1. Erik

This may be a great movie but based on the Disney’s recent history of virtual signaling and literally forcing a narrative at every turn which, frankly, making Americans don’t agree with or wanr through everything they do in their movies, their Disney Plus shows and even Disney theme parks etc, people have had enough. At first it was mainly right wingers which I am not, and now it has spread to other groups. I refuse to support Disney or anything they offer. I cancelled my + subscription months ago, I cancelled a massive trip to Disney World and I will not go see Disney produced films even if it is a character I love.

  8. James

I thought it was a bad movie that I wanted the villan to kill shaw. It makes crystal skull look like a masterpiece in comparison

  9. Indy

“‘Indiana Jones 5’ Finally Sees Box Office Success After Disastrous China ‘Flop’.”

LoL, what success?? It lost to “Sound of Freedom” on July 4th which had zero marketing compared to Jones.

It is a woke mess and Disney is going to lose hundreds of millions on it….it is so great to see.

    1. Daniel

For one, Sound of Freedom didn’t exactly have zero marketing. I saw it everywhere online and the studio that makes it has a huge evangelical following because of The Chosen. They also promoted free tickets (bogo and straight free) to get people to go see it. It only beat Indy one day and only because a few million of that was from free tickets that were pre-purchased as a “pay it forward” to cover those “free” tickets.

There is nothing “woke” about Indiana Jones 5, and from the way you talk it’s obvious you just want it to fail and look for any reason to hate it. But maybe if you had a mind of your own instead of listening to conservative rhetoric (that knows nothing about what “woke” means) and false rumors from trolls, you might actually enjoy life… And maybe this film

      1. Soren

The fact that Sound if Freedom even came within a mile of this film’s box office tells you all the need you to know

  10. Debra

Great movie My families and friends love this picture and was wondering

  11. Andrew

    It was good!
    My 4th favorite.
Some of the PC tones DO NOT reflect the times nor the character.

He is 80 and I think they sent him out well. Although he should have showed A LOT more OVER ALL success in the End.

GO see it on Imax or 3-D… Wish I did!

    1. Rory

Can someone explain the PC tones to me? I completely missed them.

  12. Dread Pirate Roberts

It’s a good movie. Don’t listen to the “woke” mob. They want to see this fail because they disagree with strong female leads. This is what misogyny looks like in 2023.

    1. John

Amen sir. A lot of people listen to their own jealousy to even see how great a strength these characters have about them … It’s essentially enlightening and invigorating.

  13. Jerry

After wasting my money, seeing”Castle Of The Crystal Skull,” I’m not going the make same mistake again. Phoebe Waller Bridge & her birth mark are both annoying!

    1. Rory

That’s harsh, I mean she can’t help it, and it’s a little bitty thing I didn’t even notice until well over an hour into it. I thought she played the part great.

  14. Mike J

The movie is terrible. Harrison Ford looks like he has zero interest in it and you can tell by how bad it was. Great movie…🤣🤣🤣 you must be a Disney employee

  15. Tommy

Read the retoric saw it anyway. Great movie, absolutley enjoyed it.

  16. Rory

I thought it was great, the time travel plot device making it all the more interesting. Far better than the Crystal Skull, and I totally missed the “woke” part, and the criticism of capitalism. Maybe it’s because I’m 69, Indy’s tired and worn out persona resonated with me. I was apprehensive due to the publicity, and needn’t have been. See it, I bet you’ll like it.

    1. John

Well apparently you seem to be more open minded about this film than others. I happen to be 43, but I can empathize with anyone older than myself about being worn out on things around me. I’m not a bigot. I see and understand with faith about how to enjoy a film. Namely this one.

  17. John

Being prejudiced doesn’t help anyone on how to enjoy movies like this. People need to be open minded to see any potential for the film and it’s characters, whether they’re male or female

  18. Deez Nuts

PWB was obnoxious. I’m glad this movie flopped. I hope Hollywood learns a lesson and drops this “marry sue” approach to every film they make.

  19. Ron

    GREAT MOVIE
SAW THE FIRST ONE WITH MY TWO SONS 41 YEARS AGO, ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE, ONLY US OLDER PEOPLE WHO SAW THEM ALL UNDERSTAND WHERE PEOPLES ARE TODAY. SIT BACK AND ENJOY.

  20. Wes

I liked the movie myself. They maybe kept old Indy outshone a bit too much by the female lead and I cringed a bit at the joke at the end where he’s going to stay and the classic Indy music starts and ends with him getting punched unconscious, though it did make me laugh. Other than that it was really enjoyable and the ending reunion with Marion was great.
My wife was a bit disappointed in how Indy was not really himself most of the movie. It would have been great to give him a bit more time to get back into his old role but I suppose that would gear us up for wanting another movie and they are supposed to be closing the series with this one.

  21. Flynn

Knocked out of first place after 4 days by an unknown, small budget film, then knocked out of first by Red Door. Once Mission Impossible opens, Indiana Jones 5 will be history. The budget on this film is now confirmed over $325 million + $125 million promotion / marketing – this means it needs to break $ 900 million – just to break even. It will be lucky to break $300 million, netting Disney a nice $300 million loss/write down.

  22. Chris

All this vitriolic nonsense about it being a woke watered down Indiana Jones just ain’t true. His character is 80 years old and he still has a commanding presence, even with his age.
