Amazing but sad. The movie was very good in not showing what we knew was happening to these children. I guess Disney doesn’t recognize talent and the people that are equipped to handle it. I’m glad they didn’t get my money. God prevailed and the movie had a full theater when we went.
You’re falling for ANOTHER conspiracy theory. Disney bought 20th Century Fox and ALL of their movie and TV content – and they shelved many projects during the transition. If Disney was trying to prevent the world from seeing this fictionalized movie, it wouldn’t have sold the rights to it. They were smart to hold it since Tim Ballard has been exposed as a liar, grifter and pusher of wacko Qanon nonsense and thar one of the producers is awaiting sentencing on his conviction for massive Medicare fraud!
Instead, they sold the rights to this fictionalized story – and it is fictionalized
– and Ballard, himself, exploited those children, and then he exploited you and all the rest of the people he’s targeted in his mormon affinity scam.
I don’t know if anyone will ever read this, but you should do a quick Google search on this movie and the guy it supposedly is about, Tim Ballard. He’s been under investigation in Utah for taking credit for law enforcement work, and most reputable anti-child trafficking groups and law enforcement departments say that this guy and his organization do a whole lot more self promotion than actual rescuing of children, and have in fact disrupted actual anti trafficking efforts. It seems that these are grifters using children as a prop. I’m sad to see Angel Studios supporting this. I really liked the Chosen. A shame that do many good Christian people are falling for this. Please, if anyone reads this, do your research. Act with kindness rather than anger, and deliberation rather than fear.
He’s been caught in lies, he’s pushed inane Qanon conspiracy theories, he traumatized children in his vigilante raids, he increases the demand for trafficked children with the tactics he uses, the children get no after are and are almost released woth no therapy or care shortly after they were “saved” AND one if his producers – also a fellow Mormon – is awaiting his sentence for his conviction of massive Medicare fraud. Actual good people don’t engage in the behavior that Tim Ballard has. He’s a grifter, plain and simple – and you abd everyone like you were his easiest marks.
They weren’t giving away anything. They qwre gridting the movie goers were there to buy tickets for “poor people” but they give no info on who the poor people are who are supposedly getting the tickets and how they are being distributed. All clear signs of a grift. They pocketed that money and couldn’t care less if one poor person gets to see it for free.
Don’t be rubes. Disney didn’t ‘”cancel” the movie. Disney acquired 20th Century Fox and the rights to all of their movie and television content – and they shelved many projects during the transition. Undoubtedly, they were likely concerned over Ballards Qanon ties, the veracity of the stories he tells and that one of its producers is awaiting sentencing from his conviction in a multi, multi million dollar Medicare scam. They were likely holding it partly for those reasons because anything they release would have had their name and would reflect on them – but If they really wanted to prevent people seeing it, they wouldn’t have sold the rights to it. Don’t fall down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole so easily – but you should absolutely do your own research into Tim Ballard. He’s a pretty shady guy whose business model depends on stories long on drama but short on important details but mostly, it depends on people to be so trusting that they believe everything he says without any real, concrete, proof so that they’ll part with their money. No paper trail, criminal players, emotional stories that hook people and literally no real proof these kids are being helped beyond the fundraising photos and footage. This is called grifting – and thos instance originated in Utah, the fraud Capital of the USA and it’s wise to try not to be a victim of it.

This movie wasn’t cancelled by Disney. It got lost in the shuffle. Then the producers bought the rights back and resold them.
Walt
Ohhhh Nooooo it was not (wink wink) canceled by the pedos in hollywood – that would never happen.
Disney IS the dark side.

Clearly you have very selective intellect.
This is a true story that needed to be told.
BD Gilbert
If it got lost, then same on Disney for not noticing it years ago. It might have saved a lot of little kids,; the ones they exploit for money.

Probably because some of the traffickers were cast members they keep arresting cast member pedos so I wouldn’t be surprised.
Disney just keeps failing and failing I love it.

OK groomer.

That investigation was dropped. They found no cause to continue. Just FYI. Tim Ballard is an impressive man who does amazing work.

Correction to above typos: they’re almost ALWAYS released with no after care shortly after they were “saved”.
Someone
They were giving away free tickets everywhere.
Full theatres don’t mean anything when no one is paying
RickTR
Yeah they made 40 million by giving away free tickets. It must have been on the popcorn concession.
Barb
Free? I hardly think a $15 ticket is free.
