All movie studios need to get a clue and stop trying to recycle the old content of glory days. None of it has measured up for decades. Try producing new content that I’d actually watchable.

Woke Disney will continue to hemorrhage.

I know it didn’t do well in theaters, but our household enjoyed Cruz’s Mummy. We were incredibly hyped for Dark Universe and were saddened to hear they axed it. Still hoping they’ll revive that idea again someday.

I tend to agree. I liked the Tom Cruise Mummy. I think it would have just ad good without the wild action. That beautiful mummy was scary.

Is that the actual quote from Brendan Fraser or is there a sloppy typo?
Do you guys get paid by the word or by accuracy?

Dwayne Johnson you are Black Adam. Find those mystical powers & buy the rights to DC Comics properties. We want Black Adam vs Superman with Henry Cavill. Partner with a powerful investment group & force WB Discovery to sell these Assets. Get a new film distribution & production company. DC comics characters are worth unlimited gold. Acquire DC Black label also. Do independent films. Lay the smackdown & “the people’s elbow on all their candy asses.” You are still “The People’s Champion”.

      Agreed. 👍🏽

Use to like Dwayne, I’m sure he’s a good human being, but recent choices over the past ten years shows his mindset and it definitely isn’t where it was when he first started. He’s making bad choices with Disney as they continue to flush their reputation down the drain with this “inclusivity” and woke mindset. They use to just make great films, now it’s scraping the bottom of the barrel since the creativity is falling short.

He’s made his bed with Disney and stagnant franchises for the paycheck, time to take the ride down Rock.

I mean he still gets paid. He just shows how thin his acting scope is. Another Nick Cage or Liam Neeson straight to Netflix or Disney in his case career.

Yeah. Cuz inclusivity and equality for everyone is just a terrible mindset to have… Least your name is accurate

Johnson deserves everything he DOESN’T get!

I don’t understand how doubling your money is considered a bomb. Nobody lost money on these movies.
And I suspect Jungle Cruise, or whatever it’s called, would have done a lot better if Johnson hadn’t worn that silly hat. Made him look like a pinhead.

BA hardly bombed compared to Shazam 1 and 2, BOP, TSS and The Flash and it never even had a China or Middle Eastern releases where he is Hugely popular, so add on an easy 200M+.

Personally I think The DCEU was targeted from the very start, in hope that it would fail, as it was Disney/Marvels competition and Billion Dollar movies are big business, so somehow the Minority of Loud fans and Critics got their way and Surprise Surprise a Marvel Guy has taken over and his DC movie wasn’t good at all, TSS/Peacemaker are for teenage delinquents and this is what is wrong with CBMs just now…where have all the REAL SUPERHEROS AND PEOPLE went to? James Gunns ego got in the way, instead of creating an amazing Universe using the past, present and future, he just gave 2 fingers to fans of past and current movies, hopeful he hits it Big and everyone praises him as a saviour of DC. Well big mistake alienating a massive fanbase of past and current movies, in the hope that his Marvel followers will be enough and the silly minority of DC fans who yipee went to see Shazam 1& 2, TSS, The Flash etc., such a massive turnout being the Majority they say…right?👎🏽

The only fans who are a larger portion of the DC base are the so called “Snyder” fans that most get tarred with if they don’t agree with current nonsense, these fans are really just normal fans of all ages, who want quality and a more mature content, with fans who grew up with Donner/Burton movies then into the Nolan movies, and like modern films like “Snyderverse” Movies, Joker and The Batman, those are the Majority and are NOT turning up to SILLY JUVENILE MOVIES like TSS Shazam 2 etc., and lo and behold, who has taken over as Co head of DC Studios? Safran and Gunn. Yeah great…Unbelievable! 🤦‍♂️

It really does feel like the DCEU has been the victim of a slow targeted takedown.👎🏽

    1. That’s the most confusing thing I’ve read in quite a while!

Yeah problem with your comment who has actually made money and and has more critical and audience acceptance and of all people you take the word of Grace Randolph who is more wrong than right with her “scoops” where directors have come out and completely debunked her including Gunn, Wan, and Jenkins

I hear you on the movies at home thing. The films don’t even stay in the theaters long enough to find time to see them. There was some movie, I don’t recall which, that heard was in theaters for less than a month.

Assuming a movie is amazing enough that I decide I want to see it in theaters, there’s a good chance it won’t even be there anymore! These days, I usually only go if it’s a Fathom event, something with family, or the trailer just looked that darn good/I’m a fan of the IP (example: I love the Haunted Mansion ride, so I’ll probably go see that, but the last movie I recall seeing at a theater was a Fathom event in January).

Sounds like grasping for straws. These last few movies, honestly – in my opinion – were disasters. Maybe some new blood in the writers’ area and a few new faces will help these studios move on. Who knows, maybe this Hollywood strike will allow some new and different talent to emerge. One can only hope.
