Onward was not released straight to Disney+. I saw it in the theatre in March, 2020. It earned over $100 million in box office receipts before the pandemic shut everything down.

So did I. I’m tired of all these sources saying that Onward was a failure. Onward got totally screwed by COVID. The week after it released in theaters, everything shut down, so it couldn’t have a decent theater run. I’m sure that had COVID not been a factor, Onward would have been a box office win for Pixar.

Maybe Pixar should release short animated features ahead of major releases like Warner Brothers did with Looney Tunes before the main feature, introduce a new character on a small scale and see how a theater audience reacts.

Two corrections: Soul, Luca, and Turning Red were the three direct to D+ films, and Win or Lose has not been cancelled, there was a planned spinoff based on Win or Lose that has been cancelled.

Yet another example of “go woke, go broke!” They should stop making films with a political agenda or political message. Go back to your core audience…families. Stop making “message movies” most parents won’t bring their kids to watch those. Look at the minions movies or the recent Super Mario movie. That’s the kind of stuff that families like to watch!

better give soul, luca, and turning red nationwide theatrical rereleases in the US RIGHT NOW exactly 805 days after SOUL won an award at the oscars give this winner its 115 week overdue reward, a theatrical rerelease nationwide on 7/18/23, followed by LUCA on 8/17/23, and Turning Red on 9/21/23 with 9, 39 and 74 days notice given RIGHT NOW exactly 22240 hours after SOUL’s Disney+ debut a surprise rerelease for theaters in the US to occur nationwide on 7/18/23 (10 days before Haunted mansion and 3 days before Barbie and Oppenheimer) followed by LUCA on 8/17/23 (790 days after streaming) and Turning Red on 9/22/23 (560 days after streaming) with 9, 39 and 74 days notice given now with immediate tickets starting exactly 5 days after the fireworks to save Pixar as we know it and retrain the audience to compare box office grosses

All they need to do is stop promoting their woke gay agenda and people will start watching their movies again. That is the true cause for their demise. Companies like Disney, AB, Target and others have lost billions because they all went woke. Americans have had enough and prove it by not buying they products.

Most Americans don’t actually give a shit about what people do in their own time. Republicans care way too much about what people do in their bedroom.

No…it has to do with online shopping and a combination of TV getting much better and Covid changing our viewing habits.
All the right cares about are “the gays.” Get over it. Sheesh.

Already on “life support” Disney should be smart enough to know that jumping into a book to rely on an old recipe cuz your stagnant is the kiss of death ,and worse making sequels of it, you may as well just pull the plug, they need to reexamine their approach and find their spark to what made their magic, stories based on heart, wit comedy and good old fashioned great story telling that’s relatable and inspires and speaks to everyone as people and not try to come up with somethings based on wokeness as not to offend, art and story telling is bold not just being polite trying to give people what u think they want, but just give an experience that takes us all away from the politics, a Disney park ride, Rollercoaster doesn’t worry about who’s who or whats what, it’s ride all ages, genders, ethnicities all ride together on, get back to bringing heart and comedy and a great story fun and exciting for everyone and less about tip thing around what society may thing, you’ve locked yourself in a creative box you need to step out of and dig deep and find your inner magic and child, not cranky old politicians, reset, refocus, re-emerge and above all put some heart, spirit and imagination into it all, cuz that’s what’s people need, that is art, inspire.

  7. Tired of WOKE kids movies

Maybe they should stick to kids movies and leave their politics and social justice causes out of their films, and parents might come back…?

Maybe they’ll finally learn and abandon their woke agenda, get back to the roots the Walt Elias Disney expected and demanded which made the company what it is today.

It’s not just Pixar movies either, Disney Studios is also suffering.

They need to take a hard, honest look at the reason.

Elemental is one of my top Pixar movies. Behind CoCo and Soul. But in all honesty it could be number 1 after I see it a few more times. I instantly connected with Wade and felt like he was emulating me. Pixar is battling against box office issues that will fix themselves. The stories are still very much passionate and devoted to the fans. I personally love the direction Pixar is going, and the only reason they aren’t succeeding to their standards is because they really didn’t promote this movie the way they should have. It’s a romance movie first and tbh, not the most kid friendly Pixar film. But, that is why you all need to go see it. You will be happy you did!!

rerelease soul, luca, and turning red immediately effective NOW 805 days after SOUL won at the oscars with 9, 39, and 74 days notice SOUL on 7/18/23, Luca on 8/17/23, and Turning Red on 9/21/23 (tickets start for all 3 immediately NOW exactly 805 days after soul won at the oscars) that is the only way to save pixar (otherwise triple feature sometime before 9/8/23 on Disney+ day)
