This isn’t the WDW of your childhood or your kids childhood. My first time was 1996 and true magic. Everything was exceptional. From the Caribbean Beach Resort, the food and of course the rides and shows. A couple of other visits in the late 90’s & 2002 were similar especially the addition of Animal Kingdom added to the experience. By 2014 and more in 2019 the experience had slipped. Bigger crowds, long waits, sometimes really long waits, took the fun out of having fun. Rude guests, surly and apathetic Cast members interspersed with some good entertainment. Now the politics. Ugh! If we can determine your political leanings youve faied. Just go back to being Disney. Quit trying to pander to extremes or the cause du jour and just provide what you used to do like no other. A fun atmosphere, good attentive service, and an escape from a demanding & all to often ugly world.
I to went to Disney in the 90’s and early 00’s was a really magical time for me and my family now it’s like do I really want to go I mean do I really want to then we just go to Universal and have a blast 😁
The first time I went was back in 2001 for my honeymoon, and you are very correct about the magic, hospitality, plus the cast members from other countries which made it extra special so you could learn about their culture as you learned about yours.
Well this is what happens when you cut thousands of cast member jobs and the other cast members are stretched to thin plus there moral is low because they don’t know if they will be losing there jobs. Disney use to be the place. I mean THE PLACE. Now is second to Universal.

I find it very interesting that the author’s ending lines are suggesting that operational issues are to be expected with high ticket costs, as if lower ticket prices would somehow ensure better operations, when usually the opposite is true. Unfortunately, Disney had months to prepare for this event (they’re supposed to have operations plans in place long before announcing ticket sales) but it seems that when the time came, they were ill-prepared and woefully unstaffed. This is not what you’d expect from a high priced ticketed event.
As others have pointed out, Disney truly has lost its magic. Whether due to sloppy operations, rides constantly breaking down, less than ideal CM interactions, or a combination of all those factors, Disneyland and Disney World feel more akin to a Six Flags recently, rather than the cohesive park we all once knew and loved.
I’ve been going to Disney since the early 70’s. When my children were old enough we went to Disneyworld and Disneyland several times, and always had a blast.Disney has changed when they got political. I don’t care which political party you agree with, Disney is in the business of running a theme park not politics I started going to universal with our children and grandchildren since 2021.We will never go back to Disney, universal knows how to run a theme park, bravo universal.

As of now, the cast members jobs have not been cut. The attitude of the DCP cast members have changed in the last few years though.
