Seriously enough with the tom cruise comment’s…nobody’s even talking about that …he was ..WAS IN CONSIDERATION for a part …like 2 years ago …also…no true fan cares about this …whenever whatever took place…the infinty saga is a masterpiece that will stand as one of the greatest cinematic feats EVER!!!! 25+ working parts made for an amazing decade + and set up things we most likely haven’t even conceived of yet….go rewatch the whole thing and tell me if u care about this article at all….maybe 1 in 1000000 ppl will give two s#/+$…maybe
Thomas, you need to research better. In Iron Man 2, in the bar, before the race, the events of The Incredible Hulk are taking place on the TV. This means Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk have ALWAYS taken place simultaneously, with the events of The Incredible Hulk finishing prior to the Stark returning to the USA.
If I’m reading this correctly, the new timeline would have Iron Man take place 6 months before Iron Man 2, but 18 months before Incredible Hulk, despite Iron Man 2 and Incredible Hulk taking place at the same time.
Marvel isn’t what it once was. They seem to have an agenda to make these movies for 13 year olds now. Have gone beyond “PC” and the newer movies have become laughable. No way the first “Iron Man” gets made with the same material today if it were just being released. Marvel has gone soft. Perfect example is the new “Blade” movie getting a PG-13 rating. Lame. Nice that movies like Deadpool and Logan were released but we need more of them for the crowd who prefers it. Would be great to see Maguire get another Spidey film of his own since his were the best and had the best stories.
I question the the statement that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Bombed, The film has made around $476 million, and is the 4th highest grossing film of 2023.
To put that in perspective lets look at the first 2 films of the series.
Ant-Man in 2015 made $519.3 million
Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018 made $622.7 million
And to say Marvel is in trouble is a joke, here are the numbers.
2 Marvel movies in the first 5 months of 2023 have made 1.3 billion.
3 Marvel movies in 2022 made 2.6 billion.
4 Marvel movies in 2021 made 3.4 billion.
Disney has 2 more Marvel movies coming out this year, The marvels, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse they are on track to make over 3 billion in 2023.
Phase 4 made a total of 5.7 billion with 7 moves.
Phase 5 has made a total of 1.5 billion with 2 moves out.
Marvel has made 32 films for a total of 29.4 billion, that averages out to 932 million per movies, not to shabby.
Haters going to hate.
Just keep doing what you’re doing Marvel and I will see you at the movies.
There’s a post-credit scene in The Incredible Hulk where Tony Stark comes up to General Ross and mentions that, as Fury said to Stark, they were “putting together a team”.
I know that RDJ’s contract was up; but, just like DC’s Batman, I would of loved to see a mature Ironman at whatever golden age. Like we’ll get to see a mature Batman in the coming movie The Flash. Love The Avengers Infinity, but I rarely see End-Game just because Ironman dies… 😢
By Endgame, I was exhausted with the sheer volume of tie-ins and storylines. Endgame itself was exhausting to watch.
I dabbled with Winter Soldier & Hawkeye, but haven’t watched anything else since. “Multiverse”. Crap. I don’t need a 2nd full time job ofkeeping up with 4 series & 10 movies to know what’s going on. Add in all the Woke bs & I’m done. Been done
Disney has effed up both Marvel AND Star Wars.
MCU needs a reboot and they need to stop putting too much woke preachy content and follow the comics, good writing is needed over virtue signaling. It’s not superhero fatigue, it’s a terrible story fatigue we’re sick of.
Comments for Marvel Quietly Retcons ‘Iron Man’ as Studio Deals With Growing Turmoil
Michael Toler
Tom cruise can not even begin to be the Iron man that Robert Downey Jr is honestly he’s not even equal to a pimple on Robert Downey’s ass
Scooter
So true!!!! Agree 100%
Nunya
Truth. Stop posting ads that are critical of RDJ. He lit this candle. Let it burn!
Jeannette Lust
Robert Downey Jr gives Ironman class. Let’s not go back to cave man times.

IM2, 3, Thor 1, 2, Captain Marvel were terrible, Infinity War was the best out of all the movies, end game was a let down. Reboot is needed in MCU.

Iron Man is not being retconned.

I won’t watch, especially pay to watch, Tom Cruise as Iron Man. That’s just disgusting!
Mike
He’d do a great role, he’s not RDjr but Ironman is desperately needed and so is Captain America back.
JThomp
Tom Cruise as an actor is fine. He has ZERO business reprising Iron Man. Stop screwing around and let Don Cheadle run with it.
Steve
No thanks, he’s not ironman, he’s war machine, we can have both.

Probably as he did play a super villain the fictional character probably made him crazy. 🤪

Most of us won’t as you are clearly ignoring that the fan base is leaving do to virtue signaling taking priority over story.
