It’s a great movie for all ages. Everyone I know loved it.

  2. Not a sheep

Nice attempt at spinning it. Based on inflation, $211 million in 1989 is now worth $519 million today.

Tell me about it they should of renamed the movie The Little Sea Monkey

        Lol

And what is that supposed to mean. Are u still so stuck that u think it’s OK to refer to a woman of color as a sea monkey. How ignorant and small minded.

They didn’t do breast as well as what they’re trying to make it look like they needed to gross 511 million in order to make a profit because their budget was 200,000 something and they didn’t meet that opening day last I heard

Is it possible they could have gotten an uglier actress? Good lord.

Please keep your hatred to yourself or at least do not be a guppy and put your name

Hatred? It’s called having eyes and an opinion. It’s an observational comment. Get off your soapbox. You please keep your hatred to yourself, jeez.

        1. You Too

You’re a disgrace to the human race. Crawl back under your rock where you belong.

          1. Me too too

            🤣

    2. Black Mermaids Rock!

They tried but your mother wasn’t available.

        Pig

  4. Just a Guy

It cost a dollar to go to the cinema when the original released.

    1. Black mermaid

      Not

The revenue increase could be a large part associated the in increase in ticket prices from 1989 to 2023.

Disney will do anything to get the public to think this movie is a big success. Actually from what I read it will take upwards of $700 million to break even. It will lose money and the merchandise sales won’t be that great. I have a granddaughter who already has all the Little Mermaid stuff she will ever need, I know we won’t be buying anything else. Oh, and by the way we’ve been to DisneyWorld at least 35 times so we don’t hate Disney but we are getting a little tired of what they’re doing at the parks and with movies. Bowing down to 15 percent of the population 12.5% black about 2.5 gay and whatever.

      The movies was a success

No it wasn’t this movie is a box office flop but at least you liked it I guess

    2. Melissa

      Totally love this comment !

Sure about that considering the original didn’t bomb at the box office, but I’m sure the race card is helping to shove the nonsense down our throats

    4. Ann

      Agree 100%

You can’t compare box office receipts today to a 35 year old movie release. My whole family of 5 went to the movie for $15.00. Today 2 adults and 3 children would be $45-$50. If you compare apples to oranges, yes it’s doing better. If you compare apples to apples, the 1989 version is clobbering the remake. Only the weak minded can’t see that. Yes Me, they could not have found an uglier actress. Just scroll up to the picture at the top of the page and see for yourself.

    1. There’s a lot of low IQ’s in this chat. LOL LOL

Disney needs to stop making live action and go animated for and “remakes”.

  9. John Critic

There is nothing that this live action 2023 remake will ever beat for the original 1989 classic we’ve grown to know back in our 1990s generation.

    1. Black mermaid

Why the movie is beautiful can’t compare animation to live action really they did a beautiful job on the movie 🍿.

  10. Melissa

You can’t beat an original and why race is always brought into movies, what was the reason for remaking this oh I know there wasn’t one except to cause division.

    1. Ann

Yesss.. while the WEF and WHO are planning world domination.. Disney, among other woke corporations has people arguing about race and gender.

  11. Here’s how it works: someone decides to make a movie and they pay somehow to make it their way. YOU only get to choose if you’d like to go see it. You do not get to be UPSET at the genders or races of the characters. Or anything else. Make your own movie or do your research before going to see one! Sheesh!

  12. Anthony L Villarreal

Sure about that considering the original didn’t bomb at the box office, but I’m sure the race card is helping to shove the nonsense down our throats

  13. 2Gender world

Alot of great comments here, seriously the remake is trash and anyone posting that it’s great is clearly looking for an excuse to throw up a race card or whatever the hell a gender hindered clown will say maybe next time we’ll have to please some other crybabies by destroying another classic Disney movie. Oh fyi 2 genders.

  14. Jasey

I like the little mermaid. but I didn’t like the ending where the mermaid people came out out of the water. And there was one scene that was missing.
