Disney isn’t going anywhere. They canceled the plans for a back office operation in Florida that had already been paused quite some time ago. Disney doesn’t have the funds to move forward with this project and Disney is busy laying off many of the employees that it planned to work in this location. Disney has no intentions to cancel investment in the parks, including WDW. The park operations are one of the few bright spots in Disney’s portfolio right now.
Disney can not just close Walt Disney World and walk away from the billions of dollars that they have invested in Florida. If they do anything at all they will either sell or break the Company apart and have Walt Disney World as it’s own company. Disney doesn’t have the funds to move forward with this project and Disney is busy laying off many of the employees that it planned to work in this location. Disney has no intentions to cancel investment in the parks, including WDW. The park operations are one of the few bright spots in Disney’s portfolio right now.

They have their own financial crisis to worry about, stock downgraded, shares plunged in value, steaming and movie division hemorrhaging viewers. I know Disney will continue to make appropriate business decisions in spite of the annoying aggressive hateful politicians. I wish the media would get their facts straight and stop with these lies. Disney canceled the Lake Nona project because they don’t have the funds and they are busy laying off the employees they planned to move to Florida. Josh D’Amaro said that he hopes Disney is able to invest $17 billion in Magic Kingdom in the future because if the company can’t solve their financial problems with Disney+, they will not have the funds to invest in the park. WDW is not going anywhere. It’s time for Disney to swallow it’s pride and get back to business before the company destroys itself rom the inside out.

There are States that will be bending over backwards to offer tax incentives to Disney to move. Georgia being one. If Florida loses WDW and the billion$ in tax dollars then a State income tax may be necessary. The price to pay for rainbow rodent bigotry.

IMO Disney should look at building in a different state since the state of Florida is no longer welcoming to them. The current governor is going to drive business and people out of the state. His hatred toward LGBTQ+ people will backfire as they will begin to relocate to more open and diverse states.

What the Florida government is doing has nothing to do with why Disnry isnt “building homes for 2000 Disney employees”. They want you to think that so you’ll be mad at someone else instead of them.

BTW…..Just got back from a Disney Waterpark. Over hyped, over priced, rides not working, (still charging full price though). Food is expensive which would be ok if it wasn’t garbage. This is all speculation based on personal opinion and not business minded. If anything, no matter what political issues WDW has, it would work against themselfs if they would cancel or uphold projects, since every park (worldwide) has its succes (partially) from new attractions and other investments. I believe that WDW clearly stated that canceling the 1b$ investment has nothing to do with Desantis.
