“We focus on bringing you all things fun so you can plan your theme park vacation, enjoy Disney at home, and more” or at least what this website says it’s all about, more times than not it’s gives never been failed journalists a place to put words on the internet.
Yes, it can be viewed as “artificial inflation” with “artificial demand” to get people to buy into it. Its no different than what happens with the stock market…and or like pre orders of a new video game system( sure the game sysgems sold out, but how many did they actually have available).
Its basically a marketing sales trick, and paychology to have the consumer engage of frenzy of what gottta have it or gotta buynit before its gone.
Is it a fair prwctice?…not really, but fair practice takes a back seat at the end of ghe day when all that matters is how much $$$$ did it make for us that day.
Again, put the Genie back in the bottle, throw into the cave on wonders and be done with it.
Sure Disney is gaining day to day end of day profit but at what cost? Guests at the parks are going to become so fustrated, with this they will either not visit Disney parks anymore, and or find a new theme park like Universal, SeaWorld, or they may just stay home at go to amusement parks in their area.
What ever they may decide to do, it is apparent that Disney will lose long term repeat guests in loyalty, fandom, and profit. It ia better to take a smaller profit per day to sustain the long term than to get as much for the one day and loose the guests forever.
Remember not all the blame goes to Chapek, or Iger, a lot of it falls to the board of directors, and the CFO McCarthy.
