I was under the impression that in America we have freedom of speech and freedom to be who you are and not being anyone that anyone should say otherwise!
I think Iger is poking the bear. Mega Corps influence politicians to get what benefits them. When they try to influence policy through their “free speech” they risk alienating the citizenry. Politicians make law and can amend existing law. Disney should stay in their lane which is entertainment, not public policy. If Disney becomes too woke they should consider the current Bud Light backlash.
So, what if she said on air, “I hate Jews, Gays and Mexicans”? Is she protected under freedom of speech? No! When you are hired by a company there are basic rules, and if you break them, you know the consequences. Disney speaking up against Florida was speaking up against hate, not promoting it. This reporter is lucky not to be fired, because I would have fired her.

Being employed as a spokesperson for a company, by your choice and free will, can limit your rights. Otherwise we will have chaos in broadcasting.
