Disney films from that start reflected the current times of the day….still do….guess what..any live action film, animated, tv show drama, comedy, cartoon series, broadway, radio, echo some reality of the current time, unless it is a period peice….
Dappers response, though correct in some aspects, is more a like a teacher scolding us, treating us like school students….
The real basis for debate or opinion, are, simply, today the stories are just phooey….Writers, producers, directors, use indoctrination theorem, as an excuse to stir the pot of public opinion, to cover what the story lacks is ….. surprise, a story…
Indoctrination, diversity, political agenda, are just tools the writers are using to fill in gaps in story they have no idea how to write creatively.
Think of it as publicity hype…a controversial subject matter placed into the story, stirs the pot of public opinion, generates publicity….in Hollywood there is no distinction between good or bad publicity…any publicity is good.
Thus the studios count on this hype, and public response to generate publicity for the film, but no matter how hyped up or how intense the debate gets, it cant male up for the loss of the creative story lines.
When that happens, as we have seen the studios, directors, producers blame the public as to why the film or tv didnt do well…seroiusly????….these people come from.top film schools, USC, NYU, UCLA, CALARTS, etc., and this is the creative top of the mountain????
Dappers response, reading between the lines, basically is calling out us as hypocrits…Watch his response again, he totally leaves out the lack of creativity and as to why current films/tv dont do well. Again lets use indoctrination, diversity, inclusion, as fill.ins for the gaps of the what the writers couldnt write.
So what if a film is diverse, a reflection of the population is good….but this heated deabte from both sides forgets that the problem stems from a lack of creative writing.
Example:
Cars 2, well look at the story and writing, Fisney took the James Bond Spy storyline type, and used it as an easy script, then it was a matter of just small writing scenes to be completed and there you have it.
Same is going on, again, indoctrination, diversity, inclusion, are being used as tools for when the writiers cant think of anything to complete the story. Its like cut and paste when using a word processer, yes thats an old school computer term.
Lightyear failed as a film, and as a Toy Story film, because it confused people as to what is this. Then Pete Docter blames the audience because they didnt get it???? Come on people….it failed because of what is mentioned above. Political issues, reality bits were used to fill.in the gaps of what the writers couldnt think of to write. This is a film, leave reality out of it, especially a cartoon…if its live action and a telling of a story, then a light basis of reality is needed to core the script.
Dappers response is the same, putting the blame on others, and not the creative process. No wonder why anything, anyone cant progress in life….our natural.instictive is to blame others instead of the process…
Complexity in film and tv is too complex for the mainstream…..Simplify the story, do not use current agendas as tools to create an entire script or fill.in parts of a script because the writers are that lacking of creativity.
Another example:
Jim Gaffigan, the comedian, tv show first season was a success, hands down. However the second season went to artsy and way over the mainstream publics head, by focusing on art centric, in the village New York comedy clubs, guess what?
After season 2 the show was canned …Middle america is the bread and butter for film and tv. If its too complex of a story, forget it, your film or tv show is dead in the water. Simplify the idea and script that the audiences will get it and enjoy it.
Using political agenda, as tools for film/tv, then using it in scripts to fill.in gaps, then blaming audiences as to why it failed is simply stupid, as to why no one on Hollywood will take the blame, they use political agenda, indoctrination, diversity, and blame the audiences.
Now do films and tv convey messages, Yes they do. Simply Good vs Evil. There ya go, the simplest but yet most effective basis for any story.
Is this real? It sounds like this sprawling company is a religious cult of some kind. Cults tell you that only they can determine the difference between right and wrong, and that only they can teach you this. Why would you publish this about your own company?
Forget all the Intersectional nonsense taught by “academics.” Your company is engaging in so much environmental devastation that I’m starting to wonder if Disney is an actual death cult. Just the amount of people flying into the parks negates any so-called “carbon neutral” efforts.
It’s a relief, I guess to see Disney start to admit they are basically an apocalyptic religious sect of some kind.
Disney Executives and Board of Directors have forgotten or don’t care that they are supposed to be an ENTERTAINMENT Company. NOT A POLITICAL Lobbying Company. When Eisner ran Disney, they made tons of money and had many hit movies (e.g. Toy Story; Finding Nemo; Lion King;Aladdin, etc) however, Eisner did not try to influence legislation in the States!! Iger Does. Disney got used to bullying cities like Anaheim with their High-Powered, Litigious Attorneys, and Now they think they can do the same to Florida. Who built the huge parking Structure at Disneyland? Answer: Anaheim paid for the whole thing. Disney threatened to move and they caved in, and paid for it. Iger and the Woke, Left-Wing, Arrogant Thugs who run Disney need to be taught a lesson by the Courts. You are under State law like every other Company that does business in Florida. Live With it!!
Of course its Disney that’s changing. They’re changing words to original songs, retroactively censoring long beloved movies and actively engaging in political movements. If it was the culture that was changing you’d see support at the box office, but Disney keeps releasing bomb after bomb – the public is rejecting them more and more every day – have you seen their plummeting stock price?
They just need to learn to balance canon lore with pleasing the general public (not just the CC jerks who wanna destroy history and everything they disagree with).
In a way its like their own kind of transition. They are trying to show they are more welcoming/accepting of everyone. Yeah they’ll make mistakes as they adjust but its to be expected as part of the process.
As customers we need to guide them through their mistakes while accepting some of the changes and NOT acting like those CC people about it.
This goes for all irl situations too. The key to a friendlier future is walking a line called compromise.
