The animal cruelty is gratuitous and lame. I’m very disappointed in Gunn and Disney for pushing these images into kids’ minds, it’s pure nightmare fuel. The claim that it serves a purpose or advances the story is nonsense–Gunn could have easily gotten to the same place without reveling in the photorealistic animal torture. He’s always had serious taste problems, and this is the worst example of it. GotG is my family’s favorite MCU property, but we’ll be sitting this one out. Shame on Gunn and Disney, its exploitation for exploitation’s sake.
