First time we went to WDW (only Magic Kingdom then), I was prepared not to like it. Considered it plastic. But as we drove on World Drive toward Magic, I noticed the green, the growth, the landscaping. Decided, “Maybe this could work.” From then on, we were Disneyphiles. My wife and I even became cast members after we retired. Our kids knew where all the restrooms were at Magic and EPCOT without enrolling at Disney University.
Disney is absolutely not the only park that uses music, smell, etc… commercials on TV emotionally manipulate people right there in your own home. We have so many great memories with family at Disney , I am forever a fan! TV commercials telling people they need a new drug for an issue they don’t have… THAT I have a problem with.
It used to be a place that was very akin to a bubble. Now, unfortunately this is not the case. The minority seems to have a say concerning what they do and wear. Honestly, Disney is hemorrhaging their legacy (their magic). The repulsiveness of the outside (which is what most come to Disney in order to escape) is flooding in. It was weird when Disney was in a time warp. However, that being said, it was a wonderful, wholesome, inviting environment.
