Ron’s biggest mistake was thinking that Disney had not prepared for this scenario for years, not just the months since the bill was signed, for a governor with his attitude to eventually try something like this. He won’t be winning anything.

Based on the numbers (number of votes he got re-elected vs. Disney shareholders meeting and suddenly changing CEO), it looks like DeSantis is winning, at least until now.

In this situation ultimately it will be the guest/families/cast members that lose if it continues to escalate. These leaders need to act with more maturity. If the company would have stuck to the business of entertainment and not adopted a radical activist political platform this would not have evolved. Bob Iger saying DeSantis is anti-Florida and then saying he wants to sit down and work it out is double-speak, but DeSantis saying he wants to put toll roads around Disney World and hike hotel taxes as a form of retaliation would not be a win for anyone.

Repugs say “coeporations are Pwople, and have the same 1st Amendment rights!”
      Except for Disney, girl?

sounds great, except it seems you have no clue how the US Constitution works.

Tax you 90 % and see how you like it

Disney has done very little but become a money grabbing machine the last 3 years. Genie plus is a joke and nothing but another money grab by the greedy Disney Corp. I hope Desantis finally makes them pay their fair share.

  7. Why does DeSantis still have his job he’s a hater of anything good or different in the world. He doesn’t deserve his position when hate is all he shows get rid of him.

And He got married there? He should have his marriage considered null & void . He has nothing better to do with his time but go after Disney, does he take his kids there or tell them they can’t go

Small p*no’s Ron should wait until his d*ck gets bigger in 50 years. Then maybe he is worth not ignoring.

Disney is the largest taxpayer in the state and if they leave then the Florida residents will be left holding the bag because of their Governor’s temper tantrum. There are also thousands of DIsney Vacation Club members (of which I am one) that are paying property taxes to Orange County through their annual dues. That money will also leave Florida. Then there is the millions of tourism dollars that Disney attracts that would disappear. This will include neighboring businesses that will experience a major loss in revenue.
Disney could decide enough is enough and move their operations to a neighboring state. There is a lot for the people of Florida to consider.

Sure, just call United Van Lines and pack it all up overnight and move it across the boarder…..HA!!!! Disney is not going no where and both sides better learn to reconsile their differences and get along. It’s a win/win situation for everyone if they do this.

Do you not realize how severely underpaid disney employees are? To suggest that is cruel and inconsiderate, especially if i go ahead and assume you think ron is “pro business. Does threatening to punish businesses like disney for not agreeing with some of his political acts sound pro business, or does it sound more like how it really is, pro business but only when they agree with him on every topic. It pains me how you dont see how corrupt desantis is.

For DeSantis to win, he has to have the law on his side. He doesn’t. In addition, this case will still be in the Courts long after he leaves office at the end of his second term as governor. In the end, this case and his demeanor toward Disney and anyone that disagrees with him, makes his election on a national scale highly problematic.

I hate to see what happens if he should become president! If you don’t agree with him he’ll go after you. He’s a dictator and needs to be stopped.

So much for freedom of speech, it seems to me as an outsider looking in DeSantis holds a grudge and acts like a spoilt child, when he does not get his way. Not a very impressive Governor if you ask me.

Not to mention all the extra cost he wants to put on Americans and tourist holidaying in Florida, its a path to his own destruction in politics.

Disney has gone down over the last few years and its reputation for money grabbing is as bad as I have ever seen it, but that’s not up to DeSantis to decide on what a Company can and should do with their business. Come on DeSantis grow up and make Florida better than it already is and stop this petty arguing.

seems he’s asking for more rope!
