Honestly, they should have security stationed by the exits and when they see this, they should stop the people and verify park tickets, then revoke them and issue a refund for all but the 1 or 2 item limit, confiscate all remaining items.

I think all popcorn bucket purchases should have to be made through the mydisneyexperience app. It should be a mobile order for pickup and once the limit is reached on your account then Disney will refuse the sale. It should be one per person and anyone on the app with a pass can only get one each. It is almost always passholders doing this because they go to the parks every time new merch is released. Most travelers would not have room for all this in their suitcase. This would stop it. I don’t think Disney really cares because they have the technology to end this practice.

That’s how they did figment and I was really happy because I got one this year

How do they get wagons in? I thought they weren’t allowed. I think anyone selling more than what’s obviously personal belongings online should be required to have a resellers license just like stores.
Shut down their sales and they’ll stop hoarding everything.

As long as people keep buying these items the resellers will keep making big bucks. Want to stop the cycle STOP BUYING.

I will say if Disney sold some of this stuff on their website this probably wouldn’t be an issue. People will pay markup because how expensive it is to get a park ticket. And to the point of another comment people who are traveling will buy them from eBay because just that they can’t fit them in their carry-on. You can’t get these items straight from Disney unless you go to a park…. So do that.

I buy from Goodwill and re-sell. I make a living on eBay. So if I find a Disney mug or ears, I sell them. I have never gotten anything from any of the parks or outlets, strictly goodwill. So I should be banned?

Yes, as they say they needs of themany outweigh the needs of the few. Its the policey

  7. Absolutely, ban them. And, revoke their annual pass for the whole year. Those people are horrible humans. And, if those individuals conduct that same behavior the next year. Then ban them for 5 years. Eventually, let these scumbags work their way to a lifetime ban.

We were at Disney when the Figment Popcorn Bucket dropped. My daughter got two, one for herself and one for me. There should be a limit of no more than 4 per person. Also some of these resellers take your money because it’s cash up front, then you never get the merchandise you paid for. Seems like theft by deception to me. Disney should clamp down on these resellers!

  9. Limit 1 per purchase in park only.. That will certainly stop it. They are not coming into your park 20 times to get your buckets. And, neither are your traveling patrons, even if they are buying family Christmas gifts. 1 bucket per customer, per purchase. Stop the problem real fast. You will have plenty of stock on hand

  10. Place a limit per customer at time of purchase for each customer, in park. Stop that real fast.

So why can’t Disney scan your park ticket, pass or magic band at point of purchase with the two item limit? Then that holder can be blocked from making additional purchases of same item for the remainder of the day.

I think whenever a popular popcorn bucket comes out they should have a que like Epcot just did for the most recent time figment came out and you just went on the app and reserved it and you had a pickup time and have it limited to two , it worked out so much better and your not wasting your time in line

I was at disney on October 30th of 2022 I was able to get on of the limited popcorn buckets. And theybdid have a limit the problem with the limit was each person in that family were buy the limit. There was a man there with his wife and 4 teenage kids they each got the limit on the popcorn buckets if I remember correctly the limit was 2 so they walked away with 12 of them. I have seen them on ebay for up too 300 dollars.

There are several excellent suggestions here, and the most urgent one is linking purchases to park tickets. Maximum of 2 per ticket period. Like in a year. This keeps local resellers from going on consecutive days and buying more.
I like the reservation idea as well. Disneyland does that with their coveted handmade candy canes. One reservation per person for the length of the sale.
And yeah, Disney, put these items on your website. Use a reservation as if it were an in-park sale. Many of the people who buy from resellers are those who can’t travel to the park for an item. This will slash the resale market.

Maybe I’m in the minority but I believe the US is a capitalist nation based on buying low and selling higher for a profit. Frankly I believe as long as Disney gets what they ask for a product, then what you do with it is up to you. If you want to buy them all, then Disney can make more and sell more. The value of each item drops but Disney makes more. This is capitalism at its best. Get rid of participation awards, entitlements, and accept some get while others don’t.
