Cool, but had zero impact on me. I honestly stopped buying Star Wars books when Disney took over the property. I’m sure there are fantastic books out there, but the pre Disney Books were my thing.
If I could have just one wish for Star Wars going into the future, it would be that they’d focus on being creative and telling brand-new stories instead of incessantly messing with and retconning the past.
I think it’s crud (not the word I wanted to use) you basically throw the legend of the actor who played the force ghost in the trash. All of us who saw the original film remember the original ending only for you to shove this down our throats and told to just take it
Looking at some of these comments–you’re all a bunch of bitter, complaining, jerks. You hate Disney has done, you hate what Lucas did. All you seem to care about is a series of glorified fan fiction novels that even Lucas said were never to be considered canon. (BTB “canon” is spelled correctly. Cannon with two N’s is?a piece of artillery. Just another thing you whiners get wrong consistently.) You all so thrive on the bitterness, apparently, that you feel the need to suck the joy out of it for everyone else. Get a life.
Maybe they could also do a little retouch on the teddy bear fight at the end. Always had a hard time, believing that a few dozen poorly armed teddy bears, and a small patch of jungle would be able to make a difference in toppling a galactic empire. But that’s what they wanted us to believe. It’s also why is the first three movies are actually 2 1/2 good ones. You have to discount a pretty big chunk of RoJ.
Now if they could just do something about the big teddy bear fight at the end. Always a little hard to accept that a few dozen poorly armed teddy bears could make any difference at all in the fight against a galaxy-wide empire.
Return of the Jedi Special Edition released BEFORE Episode I. Haydenson wasn’t in it. He wasn’t in the original DVD releases of the Special Edition either. He wasn’t added until the blue-ray editions, a third or fourth edit, well after Revenge of the Sith released.
Maybe try original fact-based reporting for a change, rather than making assumptions and generalizations and unclear, inaccurate statements.
Nothing changes for me as long as i have the movies. Canon is what i make it. Not what’s made for me. Even the EU is considered canon to me and all pre-Disney era games as well.

More tinkering to ruin a epic movie. Leave the original movies alone…
Pete
I agree, no need to keep tinkering with the original trilogy, especially considering how bad Disney Lucasfilm is regarding their story writing.
Mike
Leave the originals as they are. Stop tinkering
Phil
I agree, I would suggest reading any thing about “THRAWN” written by Timothy Zahn…excellent books

No one cares what Disney does. Star Wars is dead, it was killed by Darth Kennedy.

I figured this out about 4 or 5 years ago, good to see Disney finally acknowledging this, this is where I say duh
Stompydog
I always disliked this retcon. Makes no sense other than to let prequels ride on the coat tails of the original trilogy.
Mr foo
As a lifelong fan that got into star wars via return I can honestly say nobody cares, Disney is beating a dead horse.
AP
That’s wrong, wouldn’t Anakin last time in the light be when he saved Luke by tossing the Emperor? Disney has never understood Star Wars.
James
Funny, I heard this theory long before Disney entered into the picture.
M.E
Y’all are all so stupid, Disney made Star Wars so much more, and it actually made Star Wars more popular when Disney bought Star Wars
Nick
Oh, you are a moron.
Aries ♈
Sorry no they did not they spit on the canon and decided that their garbage is all that matters
Javier
How’s that Kool Aid taste? 😂

Bring back yub nub. Why the hell was it ever removed?!

Get a life?? Says the guy crying about random nobodies on the internet…

ITS FANTASY! STOP EXPLAINING THINGS! “ITS MAGIC” IS AN ACCEPTABLE REASON FOR THINGS IN A FANTASY STORY.
countesspetofi
Exactly! Overexplaining everything defeats the whole purpose of fantasy storytelling. It’s much more fun for the audience to use their imagination.

This greatly adds to my joy over recently obtaining Harmy’s despecialized edition of the ONLY Star Wars trilogy.

Nobody cares we already got the original, edited idea and the extra extra extra Star Wars edits now with more droids in every bite
