Put the Genie+ Back in the Bottle, as Ive said over and over….
Genie+ would not “sell out” if there want a cap in placefor the number of available reservations per the day per the attraction, on top of the parks reservation system putting a cap per day per park as to how many guests. I can assure all, that the per day guest cap fluctuates each day, set by corporate. So there is no true meqsure to gauge what is actually the maximum cap.
Placing a cap on the Genie+ , and parks reservation , is a fascade for cost saving labor and maintenance within the parks. Of course cap the guests, cap the availability of the attractions, the less wear and tear, and less hourly paid cast are needed.
Cap limits should be compared to pre covid19, as to what the limits were. During those times the only way to know if a park reached full capacity which was goverened by a maximum number, was if the the parking lots were closed, yes park.capacity reached.
The current system is dubious because it is an artifical cap per day per park per atteaction, which the cap numbers max would be determined by the previous day, week profit to cost expenditure of operations.
Dianey is king of illusions. Well, the Genie+ is one such illusion that no one yet has called out the magician as to how the tricknis donewhich is nothing new in terms of financials as to practices of artifical.inflation and or demand.
Putting aside all that financial mumbo jumbo, what did Genie+ take from the guests?
It took piece of mind. It segregated the guests into sub classes as to who will and who will not be able to access/afford it, and to who cannot afford, nor access yet.
This is the result of a diverse trend set off by Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Apple, Samsung generatiin of…everything online…everything on the phone….
Disney has put into place an Amazon effect., as Amazon primary driving tag line do all your shopping online, no need for brick and mortar stores…but what does Amazon do, open Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh stores…OMG brick and mortar…The very innovator totally want against the grain here and used counter culture trend.
Similar to Disney, youre there, actually there brick and mortar, but wait, Disney wants you to still do it all.on the phone. Kinda of a twisted Alice in Wonderland world, down the rabbit hole mentality.
Relaxing vacations to WDWR OR DLR are no more. In the past heck yea, get up at 3am, get ready, out from the resort, to the Disney Transport, to the patks for first rope drope. Now its get up before 7am, get that iphone, samsung, and refresh, parying you may get a reservation for an attraction. that you pay for the service and pay additional for the attraction.
Pay to play…nothing new…ever notice the airlines make you pay for this that this that in addition to the ticket, even pay to book a reservation while speaking to someone on the phone at the airline.. Your bank account goes below the minimum balance, you must pay. Late on a bill, you must pay to pay.
The end result will culminate in agrowing backlash over the Genie+ Disney will realize thatnits artifical capping cannot sustatin long term.profit. What you make today isnt enough to sustain the future. Lower profit today to sustain the future with continual profit.
The biggest salt in the wound here is Disney will continue to loose guests..first timers that just cant cope with how complicated Chapeks genius Genie+ is, and long time fans of Disney will throwin the towel and question why should they support a company that once was koved and admired, now just a money machine for everything.
Promises, speeches by Iger and D Amaro are just that words, once a reputation has been soured, its soured that will leave a lasting distain for future enjoyment. Guests may continue to visit Disney but with distain, and a nice grin.
A lot og guests are finding themselves questioning thwir devotion to what was once a beloved entertainment company.
Genie+ has taken more than just access to the patks and attractions. It has taken enjoyment away, it has soured many guests/fans, it has taken away years of peoples lives devoted to Disney, now all for nothing.
Again put the Genie+ back in the bottle. Hold your head down low Mr. Iger, as the immediate effects of this system, has long lasting sorured many a families whose enjoyment of the parks now juat seem , well a memory.
