These are probably the same liberal fools who got all upset because little white girls were dressing up like Moana. Remember that controversy a few years back?
You lot don’t give up do you. You want equality and representation and then when a non white performer appears as a non white character their not dark enough! Light black lives matter!
But no one is upset that they are talking about bringing the black little mermaid to the park when the character is lily white with fire truck red hair?
She looks like a beautiful light skinned Black woman to me. Typical liberal rant. If you want to talk about skin color being integral to characters how about Snow White (in the book she is literally described as having skin as white as snow) whom Disney is apparently having played by a Black actress in the upcoming movie, and Little Orphan Annie who they had played by a Black actress recently (in reality there is only one small tribe of Black’s on earth who even have the gene making red hair possible).
To be more kinder,
I believe the clever change is to try something new and let each dreamer to play their favorite characters no matter what skin color they have it would be interesting and fun.
In the future we would love another African American Princess in an another future movie.
Our current is
Roger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella 1997
The Princess and the Frog
The Black Panther Wanda Forever and coming soon
The Little Mermaid Remake.
It’s a matter of convenience for leftist liberals. For example, while it’s okay to call Vice President Kamala Harris black, (and yes, I won’t capitalize the “b” until the “w” starts getting capitalized when referring to White people), it’s not okay for a comparatively light-skinned princess to be called black, right? Why? Because the former works in their favor while the latter doesn’t. It’s all bullshit. The more companies like Disney try to acquiesce to everyone the more divisiveness they’ll cause.
What about the remake of Cinderella that was done with a black actress years ago. What about Whitney Huston playing the Fairygod Mother? What about the new live action with a non-white Ariel? It’s okay to replace a character that was written white with a black actress but if it’s the opposite people get all upset and nasty.
A black actress was cast a Cinderella along with Whitney Huston being the Fairygod Mother. Another actress was cast as Ariel who was written as a white character. Why is it that when it’s a white character being played by a black actress that’s okay but when it’s the reverse the world go nuts?
