So sick of sequels in general. Like NO ONE at Disney has an imagination anymore to come up with a new idea? There are thousands of books out there if you want to make a movie.

    1. Lana

Yeah, I’m pretty sick of all the frozen stuff

    2. Jarvis

What Disney needs is way more in your face wokeness, make all actors black, scream racism and support transexual indoctrination to young children. Americans love it. Oh, they already are…sorry.

    3. Rc

What he needs to cut is all the woke crap coming out of the studios.

    4. Stacey

It’s for the many that ask for them which is enough if they are doing them.

  2. evb

Go woke, go broke. The groomers and pedos who pushed Chapek to alienate half the country caused this.

    1. Walt

No. But remember when the mantra was “we only want to be married – thats all” We are tired of every immoral alphabet soup letter shoving this crap down our throat. you don’t have a problem with sex changes in kids 12 years old – then you are a part of the problem.

      1. Tiana

        Absolutely!

    2. donjrjr

The opposite of woke is bigoted. You are a bigot. What’s worse, you are a lemming believing what your trumpetmaster is telling you.

    Sabrina is right, of course!!
Also, the parks have seen HUGE numbers and the crowds have been unbearable. So, let’s cut CMs by thousands so that the poor ones who remain, and they’re already grossly overworked, overwhelmed and underpaid, can be pushed further into the mud. Fir anyone who doesn’t quite grasp it all, and I highly doubt that’s anybody, it’s so the top brass can line their pockets even more generous!!!! Look at the pandemic…fire everyone but the brass, make a giant deal that they took a pay cut or pause, then immediately back to huge pay hikes for the top bananas. Duh??!! Smh forevermore!!! So very done and over all things Dizzy n not, that’s NOT a typo!!

The jobs cuts are not going to be from any of the parks, but from the streaming service branch which is the one losing the money.

      1. faackanders2

I doubt streaming service has 7000 jobs to cut. Most likely it will be same % per division/department/section.

      2. Stacey

I agree. They will do this in all other areas. They if anything will pump up park employees. They know this is needed. They know what people on these threads and in fb groups say about lack of magic which is why they keep updating and bringing stuff back.

    2. Kim

Already announced job cuts will not include hourly front line cast at the parks. This is worldwide company cuts.

Reagan’s corporate America the stock holder first everyone else suck it up. Till this is changed by will of the people it will keep playing out the same.

    1. Jarvis

      It’s Reagan’s fault…🤭😆😅😂😂🤣🤣🤣

    2. Walt

Excuse me I hold stock and have not gotten a dividend in FOREVER!!! So spare me your ignorant comment.

      1. Dr. Manny

Ignorant please illuminate me where I am wrong. It is not the responsibility of a corporation to issue dividends on a consistent basis. The stock and market cap dictates value. Before you open your mouth at least have some claim that is arguable. Stop crying about your two shares here. If you really had percentage interest in Disney you would not have time to write your rants over all these boards.

The culture of Reagan and neo-cons got us to this place.

They need to make those cuts in the right places. Get rid of the executives who make terrible decisions and spend the savings on Imagineers with actual imaginations. Also, hire maintenance people with a real work ethic, who take pride in doing a great job. In the whole scheme of things, 7,000 isn’t that big a number when you think about all Disney employees worldwide. It’s just which employees they mean – the ones that just carry heavy wallets for doing nothing good, or the ones that barely scrape by for doing the bull work. Let’s hope this isn’t another bad decision.

The parks are filthy, the Cast Members for the most part magicless. Toilets broken, no soap & firing people before their 40 year pin.

  7. Debra Rusovick

The only explanation for the job cuts is called Corporate Greed!

  8. PP

They fired Chapek because the layoffs were one major reason. LOL!!! Were they fooled. Iger is carrying out Chapek’s plan.

    1. I love Disney

      I know, right?

    2. Fancy

Iger is the cause of Chapek’s failures – he inherited all the problems.

  9. Andrea

The magic is gone. Start firing the executives and cut the CEO’s pay! The workers make nothing, I know, working at the Boardwalk Resort check in, years ago. Universal pays better. The Woke movement was the ruination as well as Chapek.

  10. Dave C

Good riddance. Hopefully they purge the woke tards with the heaviest lisps first. Those arrogant and indignant fools were the absolute worst part of the Disneyland LA experience. Their customer service is completely non-existent.

    1. DS

      Here Here!

  11. Walt

Record profits and stock holders have not gotten a dividend in years. And Iger makes MILLIONS. There is a board election coming up. Pretty much vote against everything the board wants. Iger is not the savior he IS the problem. He is completely and totally woke wake up!

    1. Fancy

It’s not possible to pay dividends when Fox cost $70 billion and streaming cost $30 billion just last year and $25 billion before that. The parks make good money but it doesn’t begin to cover the other departments’ losses.

I have hopes and doubts about Frozen 3 and some of the other franchises that have sequels coming out. Here’s my thought from a few months ago:

I’ve been a fan of Disney film ever since I was a kid, I loved films like Toy Story, Wall-E, Tron: Legacy, Beauty and the Beast, and many more. Recently I’ve heard of dark things that went behind the scenes that I never noticed until recently. I tried to keep away from certain films that embraced heavily on the LGTBQ+ or woke elements, now I heard that Broadway star Idina Menzel say she would be up for Elsa to have a partner should a third film of Frozen is green-lit. I’m not against this idea, but of all the things that I heard about Elsa being a lesbian is ridiculous. People saying that they want Honeymaren to be her love interest really messes up the character we have seen throughout the franchise. From my perspective, I saw that Honeymaren and Elsa were just having a friendly bond over something they knew about the spirits. It’s basically just making a new friend over something they have in common. I’d prefer for Elsa to remain single but to have a love interest in a third film, I’d prefer it to be a prince or another male figure. The reason for this choice is because when it comes to a film like this, it’s not just the adult audience watching, it’s the kids. I would want kids to get the right message in life so when they grow up, they don’t question about themselves or their gender. I’m not against people who support the LGTBQ+ community, that’s their choice and I respect that. But it shouldn’t be enforced to a child at a young age. For Disney to enforce that in their films, is toxic to a family friendly franchise. With Bob Iger back as CEO for two years, who knows what could happen in the Frozen franchise?

my husband and I go to the parks probably 4 to 6 times a month at DW. The cast members are always ready to help you in any way they can…….The only thing I have seen is work that can be done on the rides to keep them from breaking down so much, and put cast members where they are needed instead of having 6 or more of them clustered and talking to each other………….The parks are cleaner than other parks, yes they can be better …………get rid of the slack and give the cast members a raise , they put up with so much crap from the guests , you wouldnt believe what I hear all the time…………and remember the arguments from guests that think they are better than anyone…………that is not the workers fault………..entitlement is too much with these people that visit

  14. Catee

How about Disney make cuts at the TOP,, salaries, BONUSES and jobs starting with CEO, CFO etc.
Let the middle class workers alone. Try the trickle down effect starting at the TOP, not with the people that bring Disney to life every day, especially those in the Parks

  15. Warren Howard

I have been to Walt Disney World over 30x, Walt must be turning over in His Grave for what is going on. I had more respect when Michael Eisner was in Charge. I Love Disney, but for Me. The Magic is mostly Gone, The Pricing is Way to High ( I know that things go up). Now You have to Pay extra to go on the Rides You like. The Average Family is being Priced right out ,so They couldn”t even Afford to Go. The Pixie Dust has left the Building. So Sad

Hardly surprising with the economy in a nose-dive over the last two years or so. If you haven’t seen them in your local area, you soon will. Here we have already seen salary cuts and lay-offs. Buckle down people, it will get worse before it gets better. We need leadership that will make better fiscal decisions.

  17. JE

Cut jobs? The parks have suffered already with the staff they have, rides constantly breaking down, the bathrooms are dirty the majority of the time, the cast members at Magic Kingdom act like they don’t want to be there , and you can’t even go spur of the moment anymore with park reservations I miss the days of surprising my children with a weekend trip now everything has to be planned to the “T” you can’t even get a fast pass to what you want to ride, the kiosk ticket fast pass was first come first serve which benefited the people who were making those surprise or quick trips or locals. The Magic has faded….

  18. DS

I hope he guts all the WOKE Leftist COMMIE NONSENSE!
