Oh just go back to work. I work 60+ hours a week at my job in person. It’s annoying I get it but please people. Also I’m under 40 and not some disconnected old white guy.

    1. Angel

Wow, they are a loud group. I swear every week there’s something about remote workers. Pretty sure the grand majority of workers have to be present physically. Don’t feel so special. It’s cool if you get the opportunity but don’t expect it.

      1. Cliff

Nick your correct , I also have not missed a day since the plandemic. It’s sad what this government has turned our nation into with the planned flu bug

    2. Ned

      OK, boomer.

    3. David M

In this type of business, being Disney, communication is important. Collaboration in media is necessary! Sad one positions could be work at home, but being in the office helps with new ideas, in my the artistic world. Good for Mr Iger.

      1. Candace

I can’t agree with you more. Being in the office and talking amongst your team stirs the creative juices. And I’m also a person in my 40s so the “old man” attitude doesn’t apply here either.

  2. DHC

Disney is not the only company calling employees back to the office. There’s been push back across the country from remote workers. While it’s true that some feel more productive at home, others are taking advantage of the lack of supervision and not putting in a full days work.

    1. Candace

Agree with you. We just had a meeting about returning to work.

  3. Robert

Please get to work. Lazy asses.

  4. GEORGE

Wah Wah I will buy you a box of tissues. Blo0w your nose and get back to work. Signed: AN OLD WHITE MAN

  5. YOUR FIRED!! Now you can stay home as long as you want;

  6. What a spoiled entitled group of babies!! Go back to work like most of America does!!!

    1. lovesdisney

It used to be showing up to work meant you had a job, if you are fortunate enough to be employed comply.

  7. Kate

Most companies are moving the direction of requiring people to be in the office – look at Elon Musk leading that charge.
Personally I think a hybrid model of work should be the new normal so employees are in the office part of the week for that face time but also working from home the other part of the week which allows for some work-life balance. If nothing else, cutting down on wasted commute time and gas can mean a lot for some people.
Where I work we are now required to be at work 3 days a week. That was my normal schedule before Covid because they were telework friendly as long as you were productive even before Covid.

    1. Marcus

Eloon had to backtrack quickly when he lost his office space for non-payment of rent….

      1. Andrea

They belong back in the work force not from home. Maybe things will change, guests and cast members will get along better, because the cast members will be observed and suppervised correctly. Have more respect and do their jobs better, and spread the pixie dust.

      2. Dave 62

If they don’t, fire them …iger is the boss of the company handing out the pay checks, it’s their choice to do the job at the work place or not, oh wait then don’t fire them they voluntarily quit at that point so no unemployment either, maybe they should just find another job now and quit complaining.

    2. DK

      Entitled babies.

  8. Charlie Pryor

The Pandemic was the reason for remote working!

    1. Jarvis

      You mean the plandemic

      1. Steve-O

I guess if he’s a moron he means “Plandemic”–normal people don’t fall for that nonsense, though.

        1. JJ

Doesn’t that comment come across as a bit racist? Requiring employees to return to the office has nothing to do with skin color, however, to be upset over not being able to continue working from home and than to criticize the person who made the decision and including his skin color, definitely comes across as racist.

        2. Dave 62

Stop believing their lies.. it was planned

        3. Karen

          Go Mr. IGER!!!

        4. DK

Jarvis, move on. You sound pretty uneducated.

        5. Stephanie

Just because you are more productive at home doesn’t mean you’re turning out quality work. Disney’s as a collective has suffered tremendously over the past 3 years. Getting rid of some of the greatest minds for cheaper newbies. Such a shame.

      2. Dave 62

That’s the truth !! Not so well planned by biden and china through…we caught them in their lies

        1. DK

Dave62…..91 percent of the country is wrong?

    2. Dave 62

When I have called reservations in last couple of year’s I’ve had heard babies crying , kids fighting and dogs barking in the background, ruins the disney experience from the get go.

  9. James

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. If it’s broke fix it. 60 year old white guy.

  10. After reading the comments no one seems to mention that when Disney went hybrid, they also cut the employees pay; if they are requiring them to go back then Disney needs to make them whole again! I was in HR for over 30 years and the concept of working from home was well received; treat people like professionals and they will respond in kind! As long as the work gets done, there should be no issue. Salaried employees typically work way more than 40 hours a week. Having said this I agree there should be a few days per week that they are “in person” for meetings and socialization with co-workers

  11. Anthony

Now maybe the company and parks will start heading back to its former glory. Sheesh do your jobs people and shut up already.

  12. Chris B

“Many are frustrated and heartbroken at having to return to the office regularly and feel more productive at home.” The little lazy babies need to realize that playtime is over with at home and its time to go back to work. Grow a spine and get your asses to work like other people have to every week and on weekends.

  13. Bill

Spoiled snowflakes…Go back to work…or as Elon says, “Pretend to work someplace else!”

  14. Gary

Come on CM’s the long time CM’s loved being out there they had fun. If you want to work from home then get a different job somewhere else & let someone else have fun!

  15. Beth Covin

Iger is right. In person work is imperative for a creative company like Disney.

  16. Steve

By now, everybody should be back in the office. Bunch of spoiled and lazy workers currently in the US.

  17. Smith Nellon

Can’t argue with the efficiency of ” u/DrWernerKlopek89 ” – managed to be sexist, ageist and racist all in one complaint (perjorative old white man crack.) It’s a small mind after all.

  18. Jerry

So many people today are nothing but a bunch of lazy, spoiled weaklings. I have no confidence in the future of this country. No one wants to work anymore! And if you tell them to get a job and work hard, it’s now considered out of touch, fascist, or even racist. An entire generation raised on entitlements. And unfortunately today’s parents and our left wing governments are enabling this behavior. We are in a lot of trouble.

  19. Not a sheep

If you don’t like it… find another job.

  20. Mike

Just be happy have a job and quit complaining And if you’re not happy leave. Quit acting so entitled and accepted the pandemic isn’t what it used to be so that means most companies are going in a require people to go back to work.

  21. Jennifer

No one is indispensable. If you don’t want to work there will always be someone who will twice as hard and for half as much. Why can’t these people just start their own business? My gardener opened a small food truck on weekends and now he owns his own little restaurant chain operating out of some of my properties he rents from me. My kids eat there all the time and they say it’s quite good. I don’t see why these people can’t do something similar.

    1. Barb

I agree. When my husband was ordered back to work we cashed out some underperforming stock and bought a few rental properties. Now we are semi-retired and have time to travel.

      1. Jennifer

Good for you. It’s nice to see how even the average Joe can find ways to pull himself up by his bootstraps. You must be very proud of him. My daughter’s handyman did something similar. And he still finds time to help her in between his little vacations. It is comforting to know there are still people out there willing to work.

  22. Jarvis

Um, why does the media think everyone’s job is to sit in front of a computer all day?

More people have hard, physical jobs. They are not office prisse. Get there or be fired.

And the only out of touch white male is the faker in the white House. Total dementia.

    1. DK

Keep politics out of it Jarvis. There are lots of other forums which undoubtedly belong to that cater to your ilk.

  23. James

A lot of of these people saying they are more productive at home, what a load of bs. My brother is a VP for a major worldwide financial institution and says he has to keep on the back of anyone working remote because they aren’t being more productive. When given the opportunity to go back to the office he jumped at it, he works maybe one day from home. His wife works remote and yes sometimes she works after her scheduled time, but to me that’s because when I was there over the holidays I saw that she took more breaks during the day then if she had been physically in the office. I can bet most of these remote workers are exactly the same way. Get back in the office and stop crying

    1. Brian

Of COURSE they’re all gonna say this on social media, to make their bosses look like a villain, or an “old timer”. In reality, you know they’re all in their pajamas doing the absolute bare minimum for their check. The only way to tell of everyone was doing their fair share at my last job was in person. Being left to “manage yourself” is the dream of the lazy person.

    2. Jennifer

It sounds like your brother has his work cut out for him. Let’s hope he’s able to whip his employees into shape before his business goes belly up. Has he tried outsourcing? Some of these Indian or Filipino firms can do almost as good of a job at a fraction of the cost of what the unwashed here are demanding. Definitely worth looking into.

  24. Erin

More productive at home, SERIOUSLY? Disney has been falling apart for the last 3 years and has been very unproductive according to the consumers. There are certain jobs where you can work from home, my sister does and is very productive. Disney is not one of those. These employees need to stop whining and get back to work.

  25. JD

How about they who complain about their entitled work from home status go work in a factory like me and many others. We don’t have options because we actually make goods that the world wants and needs. You’re not special. Get yourself into the workplace where you belong like we all do or go far away.

  26. jamie coughlin

I doubt many of them are more productive at home. But I’m sure if they don’t like it someone else would be happy to take their job and show up in person every day.

  27. Kevin

Such crybabies to think that actually going to work is a crime. What’s next, they feel when they are sleeping and dreaming of new ideas, they should be paid for that too. No wonder the world hates us.

  28. Me at work

Shut her down a few weeks rehire get ride of the complainers there are people who world love to work and go into an office. Some time you just have to release are you with them or against them. Get off your butts and go to work.

    1. DK

Jennifer….sure, just what we need is more outsourcing.

  29. Bobb

I think what is lost here is anyone who doesn’t like the new 4 day in office work week has the freedom to find a job that suits them better.

  30. Chris Wood

Lol! Calling the man who pays their bills, rent an
old white man is just too much. These people should be fired and hire people who appreciate having a job to go too

  31. Em

Looks like no one here is taking the side of the employees. Stop your crying and go to work. No more slacking off at home. Earn your paycheck.

  32. Mario

Of they don’t like it they can quit. The recent downturn of this company has more to do with the internal culture than it does with the CEO.

  33. DeepRed

Who would’ve thunk it? Liberals whining because they actually have to go to work!?

  34. Phillysub

What the hell does Iger’s race have to do with it?! Disney employees feel entitled to work from home? Biden said that the pandemic is over. Get off your ass and get the hell back to work!

  35. Doug

It’s obvious to everyone, Bob Iger included, why you don’t want to go back to the office. Rightfully so, you will have to work for your money JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. Job’s are never at your leisure. They require time, commitment, and effort. Welcome back to the real world.

    1. Hurry up

What did skin colour have to do with being told to go back to the workplace?
      Why was that even mentioned?
If that’s what they are like maybe someone else might like that job?

  36. Terresa

I see both sides. Remote working was a response to the pandemic. Society is not in the same place it was when it happened. Time to get back to normal. However, if salaries were cut due solely to people working remotely, if they are required to return to the office, their salaries should be “returned” as well. There is, however, the reality that they might be lucky to have a job at all. People need to decide which hill they’re gonna die on – office work or no work.

  37. Steve

Working in an office is an outdated model. If you can’t tell the difference between someone working and someone not, you have a bigger problem than not being able to watch them like a hawk. To be fair, Disney does have that problem.

  38. Truth

I would like to see what the statistical amount of people who are angry about having to work are millennials or genz.

Anyway, who cares. Liberals created this work from home, get free money for being alive mentality. Now they reap what they sow.

As a business owner, I have (had) a few employees pull the work from home move, all have been fired.

  39. DW

Boo Hoo! Get back to work! Are you upset because you won’t be able to cherry pick chores around the house all day? While your multi tasking? I mean actually stealing from your employer.

  40. lorraine

wow, calling someone an old white man that has hired you to work for the company…….how disrespectful can you be. It goes to show you how this country is teaching the kids , hope your moms are proud

  41. Shae

When you own the company or are fully responsible for it’s success or failure, then you get to call the shots. It is time to get back to work. Never should have gone remote to begin with.

  42. Frank

It’s easy , come back to work or don’t work!!
Hire like minded people who want to bring Disney to where it once was.

  43. Randy Barker

All these whiners who are upset having to return to work instead of working from home…Pandemic over get back to office and workj if your not happy there are people out there who would be happy to work.
I agree with Bob Igers decision.
Has nothing to do with being an old man.
Disney is Broken when it was Under Bob Chapek

  44. LegoGuru2000

It all depends on what you do. Some roles like tech support work well either way where as other roles do better in person. That said Iger is from a previous generations mindset where work meant being in the office mainly because executives believed most staff couldn’t be trusted to do their jobs I allowed to work from.home. This remote work issue is going to be an ongoing battle for at least a few years, until the last generation executives are purged from the executive world.

  45. John

Cool. I will go back to the office. But I’m gonna fart all day long like I do at my home office. This will be 100% on them.

    1. Karen

Long past the time to go back to work at the office. Get out of bed, take your shower and get back in the office snd communicate in person with your co-workers. Stop whining snd become part of the real world again. If you don’t like that find another job.

      1. John

Karen I am part of the real world more than you could ever be. And I’m gonna fart on you too.

  46. Shelly

Well OK. But I’m still having my lunch break afternoon sex on my desk everyday whether I’m in the office or working from home. Nothing is gonna change that!

  47. Bryan

Just because a few crybabies on Twitter and Tik Tok don’t want to have to go to work doesn’t mean that’s the way it goes. It’s a JOB. You have to WORK. The second someone says that they are “more productive at home” what they are really saying is “how am I going to get my laundry done, walk my dog, do my shopping, and squeeze in a workout if I’m stuck in an office for 8 hours a day?” Grow up people — everyone doesn’t get a trophy!

  48. Jane

Are you afraid that you’ll have to do your job since someone will be watching? Spoiled and entitled……

    1. Robert

Not afraid of my boss. I do my job very well. That’s why they pay me $120K. And I will continue to work from home.

  49. sam

I don’t understand why all these employers or bosses are so scared of folks slacking off on a remote job. You have the numbers and know what is expected of your average employee (or should!) – use that to gauge how they’re doing.
Like if an avg employee is expected to make 10 cogs in a month and your remote employee makes 15 a month then clearly they are doing a good job. If a remote employee starts to output 7 cogs a month then maybe you have a conversation and consider bringing them into the office.

  50. Andy

They truly are a bunch of whiny children! Welcome to adulthood…sometimes you DON’T get what you want

  51. Steve

WFH has always been a scam. They always crack me up as they constantly change their reasons. First it was about safety but is the company going to pay for my internet to do company work? Then it changed to my commute has been eliminated so I should just stay home for the environment. Then it went back to safety and now it’s back to work/life. Meanwhile they all work for companies where literally thousands of others go to work to actually generate revenue. They can’t find it in themselves to go to the office but they’re furious because their flight to Cancun is delayed and their next package is experiencing supply chain issues.

  52. Kathleen

They can get their butts back in the office. Most stay at home and barely work. They don’t like it – quit.

  53. Steve

My wife is 100% wfh. She would spend 2 hours a day round trip going into the office, get home, then log back on to continue working. Staying home is more productive and more conducive to a work/life balance companies preach about.

  54. Chris

Sorry, but those who work in the parks have to physically go into work, why shouldn’t those in cushy executive type and other office positions? Just because they work in an office, they think they should be able to work from home? No, time to get back to the office and be more productive. Even things like the call centers need to be back to the office, I think the long hold times are proving working from home is not doing well.
