That’s you, buddy. Also, you hired him.

    Fire Iger.

    1. I love Disney

      I know, right?

    2. Walt

      Absolutely right!

  2. I love Disney

This whole thing makes no sense whatsoever. I’m a shareholder, Disney+ subscriber, and regular park visitor. Here is what doesn’t make sense, in no particular order:

  3. I love Disney

    1. Chapek was hand picked by Iger when Iger retired. Chapek was a long term Disney employee at that point. Why is he suddenly “terrible and incompetent”?
    2. Chapek didn’t start Disney+, Iger did. Why is it Chapek’s fault that Disney+ is losing money?

  4. I love Disney

    3. Disney announced in the beginning of the year that this year’s streaming investment would be $30 billion, compared to $25 billion last year. He also said Disney+ will make money by 2024. Everybody knows that until then, it will lose money. And nobody said anything against that plan. Personally, I have been completely against sinking so much money in Disney+, but everybody else was perfectly happy, especially back when subscriber numbers were going up along with stock prices.

Iger’s effort to pass the buck on his decisions is a deflection of his decisions to do Disney+, buy Fox, Marvel Phase Woke, Gay Agenda, and Theme Park exploitation. Fire Iger. Break up the company.

I fully agree. Chapel was the scapegoat.

    4. Everybody is mad with Chapek because of the loss of the Magic Express and free fastpass, but the parks and hotels have been stuffed full this whole time, bringing in tons of revenue to help recoup the covid shutdown losses. Not that I love paying for fastpasses or uber, but it matters that Disney doesn’t go broke.

  7. I love Disney

    5. Chapek didn’t do anything wrong with that business with the government and the don’t say gay bill. He said in the very beginning that Disney shouldn’t get involved with politics, but people forced him to take that back and getting involved, resulting the government taking it out on Disney. Iger would have done the same thing, appeasing the vocal crowd. Disney was going down the woke path long before Chapek took the rein. Here is Strange World losing money, and Little Mermaid live action will be next, all of which dates back to Iger.

    6. Iger retired. There’s no reason for him to come back — otherwise, why did he retire? Earlier this year, Chapek’s contract was renewed by unanimous vote of the Disney Board. He didn’t do anything different these few months, so why should he be so suddenly and unceremoniously fired? If he was so “terrible and incompetent,” why didn’t the board notice that before? They can’t simply blame stock prices. Stock prices go up and down, and it’s not because of the CEO’s immediate doing.

    7. Chapek’s biggest mistake, which is what scares me the most as a shareholder, is putting so much into Disney+. 30 billion this year, 25 billion last year — goodness, even Disney doesn’t have that much money. Disney+ just isn’t worth it. I mean, it’s a good idea, streaming old Disney shows. It’s just that they are putting too much money into it. Disney should not try to take out Netflix because they are not in the position to do so. They just have a bunch of old kids shows and movies that they can put online and rake in the money, doing nothing. Disney+ should not show new movies without charging a premium price, and wait at least a few months before doing so, to protect box office numbers. Instead, Strange World is coming to Disney+ in a week, all free and getting no cash. (It looks horrible, like somebody’s intestines, I’m not watching it.)

Igers name was dropped as being a main investor in FTX. On CNBC. Now theres speculation that McCArthy got Disney involved. Chapek likely would have fired her and DOJ would bring charges. Igers not only incompetent hes a criminal as is McCarthy

  11. Steve

How do you know if you are an incompetent CEO? When you do not recognize the people in your succession plan are not qualified. Unqualified and incompetent begets the same

Here are the real problems at Disney along with Iger -BOARD MEMBERS Look into their backgrounds and other dealings. These people are profesisonal board sitters – one big cabal of elites running companies throughout the US. And the result? They are ALL moving companies in the direction of Woke sexual garbage. The guy from Nike is especially radical. PLUS you now have ubber radical hedgefund managers demanding appointments to the board as well. Don’t expect a renaissance ala Roy Disney anytime soon. It’s all about pushing their woke agenda so they all get invited to each others fancy cocktail parties.

That’s rich coming from the old incompetent, Iger. After all, he started the whole thing and right now, he is causing the company’s stock to go much worse ever since he returned. He doesn’t take any responsibility for it. He’s a coward as he is a liar.

  14. I never liked Iger. I kind of feel Chapek was set up to fail.
He was hired at a very difficult time and forced to do things to help the company get back the money lost during the pandemic. And Florida was open but no Disney. What is up with that?

I;m not saying I agree with what Chapek did, but I think he was their puppet (aka Biden).
