Sometimes you have to spend some money to make money. You’re losing fans with increased prices and decreased service. You’ll only lose more if you keep this up. Universal Studios is looking more inviting every day.
Ditto!!! Not sure how they don’t see that the more prices go up and frustrations go up with the fan base they will lose even more money. Lower the prices keeps us fans happy and make money! How many billions do they need? Pure greed
I agree since. Its been out of disney family hands. Been. Going. Down. Hill . Nothing thats whats been Walts vision for families . Too many major changes. And fees .one being. Fees for. Entry rising way too high. Should. Return. Yo OLD fast pass making. More fair to All who want to ride a paticular. Ride. Stop getting rid. Of. Older be rides .just update. Them. . people dont want to renew. Their .season passes.. stop adding on. Extra fee attractions. I. Can. See Disney going down hill more and more.
We just came home from a terrible Disney trip. The worst! On our first day at Hollywood studios. Tower of terror, rocking rollercoaster, toy story mania and rise of the resistance all were down at the same time. Rode one of the only rides open the millennium falcon smugglers run. Said 60 min wait. Ended up being over 2 hours due to technical difficulties. From early entry to after 1pm we only ride that one ride. Later that night we went to see fantasmic. It started 30 min late while sitting in the rain. Then the show went dark halfway through through due to issues. By then it was after park hours. This scenario carried on at magic kingdom the following day as well. The magic Disney once had is dead! I’m really sad about the whole thing.
I agree Disneyland is phasing out middle class guest from going to Disneyland….only the rich and famous are the only ones that will be a le to afford to go…very sad
Hey Disney, play stupid games win stupid prizes. You should look at who your fans are and realize you’ve ruined Star Wars, and Marvel for the loyal fans who have read the comics and know the stories. Stop trying to change everything to your woke agenda or you will lose more then you bargained for. I quit Disney when you changed your annual pass program and I don’t miss your wokeness at all.
This guys are headed for bankruptcy Walt Disney world and Disneyland resort in Anaheim, they should update the attraction’s,not raise ticket prices, meny people complain of the prices of tickets, food, parking is 30 dolls in Disneyland, hello, drop your prices,or your headed for bankruptcy bob CEO president operations.
No times don’t change. Being woke is Un-American. I have never changed and never will. When I get my hands on Disney, it will stay the same frozen in time.
On the nose! I loved Disney in part because I didn’t have to worry what my kids were being exposed to. In the parks I could let them (when they were older) wander on their own (WITHIN LIMITS) and not worry. Last time we went I felt out of place with my ( used to be considered polite) manners- and this at a time I’m finally not on a budget and can spend what I want on restaraunts and lodging instead of what I can afford. If you want to make money you might not want to irritate the people who have it. And if you are planning for the future, my kids (who loved Disney and still watch the older movies) won’t go to the parks because it so focused on being woke it forgot to be fun.
Just stop with your “woke” nonsense snowflake. I’m a real Star Wars and Marvel fan. I was in line Day 1 when the original Star Wars was released in 1977 and I’ve been reading Marvel comics since the early 70’s. I’m excited Disney had the financial ability to bring both of these franchises to not only television but the movies. I don’t agree with every story move but I don’t run around screaming “woke” “woke” “woke” nonsense whenever I disagree with something. You don’t like what Disney/StarWars/Marvel are producing it’s a big world. Go somewhere else and find something that doesn’t “offend” you.
The law, which DeSantis governor in Florida signed Monday, prohibits teachers from providing instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity for kindergarten through third-grade students. It also provides parents the ability to sue if a teacher violates the law.
C’mon! Sexual orientation, really? If you see nothing wrong with this, you have some real moral and parental issues.
This move shows the shortsightedness of Chepek and why he should have never become CEO. He is driven by numbers at all cost, failing to recognize guests in the parks drive those numbers. When you change the experience, the culture and the “magic” that Disney was known for fans stop coming because THEY know Disney has changed and they don’t like it.
He should fire himself. It’s been down hill since ce he took over. Iger handed him the playbook for printing money but being out of touch with the fans and his own staff is what brought this on. Get rid of him!!
They must abandon the whole streaming project as it was a money pit from the star and cannot sustain itself- make the business decision you need to make and dump it.
I’d like it more if Disney+ content were on Netflix or Amazon. Too many streaming services already, Disney strongarming their way in was a mistake. Just focus on content.
The streaming services are a drag to the company.also remakes of movies are essentially killing off revenues. Get back to family values is what Disney was good at. Sunday night movie night was a great thing for Disney
Maybe if you froze prices instead of increasing prices you would get more people to come.
When people can’t feel they can afford to coming therefore Disney loses money and patrons
It’s sad
These are the same types of moves by CEOs that cause recessions and depressions. Instead of realizing employees and customers are most important they focus on making more money short term.
Went to Universal this year instead of Disney. MUCH better. Plan to take two trips in 2023 to Universal and avoid Disney until Chapek and the company get straight.
Just returned from a week at Disney World. The magic is gone. No spontaneity having to make park & dinner reservations 6 months in advance. He is pricing out the middle class. This was my last visit for sure.
TRUTH!!! Been saying this since I took my family to Disney last January….worse vacation ever!!! My husband and I have been visiting Disney since it opened…even spent part of our honeymoon there, but it has gone downhill on a toboggan in the last 5 years! Walt would be ashamed!!! Told the family we are not going back this year…perhaps we will visit Universal, since they seem to care more about their visitors instead of the almighty dollar, like Disney!!!
We’re has the magic gone . Long lines were good family time.. Parades, fireworks, character photos .That is what made all our little dreams come true . Bob Pay-check never knew that .
Larry dont you know you cant fix stupid? You can only slow it down. I no longer have any desire to go to disney anymore. Between the lack of service, rides breaking down, less for your money,an annual pass that restricts your days due to having to have a reservation to get into the park, and unruly visitors.starting fights, what’s the point.
We have spent alot of money in Disney. We have two properties and every year they take more from thier customers. DVC is a shadow of what it once was and the constant “tweaks” they make are never for the better. We are looking to leave soon.
Disney has become a joke. I had a premier pass for 18 years and then the pandemic hit. They finally got their chance to make Disney an elitist park for only the super rich to enjoy. There are plenty of other parks to enjoy, spend your hard earned money there!
CC is absolutely right. Chapek made this mess with his stupid policies. In a recent poll, 70 percent were disappointed with their Disney vacation, saying that the magic is gone. The worst part is that they’re right. Disney’s surveys are now totally about cost. The economy will get worse and Chapek will get his wish. No one will be in the parks. You want to fix things, Bob? Resign. In the interim, stop laying off hard working castmembers who must answer for your policies and take less money yourself. I worry that the Board won’t wake up and get rid of him until it’s too late and there is no company left to save.
Andrew: Are you on Chapek s payroll? “Salvage” the company??
I’m been visiting Disney since I was 25 years old. Then it was a magical place, it was clean, the food was good, and the roses worked. There were some lines, but not bad. Fast forward 40 years, and things have changed. The parks aren’t clean, the resorts aren’t properly cared for and they are so expensive it’s ridiculous. The food is expensive and not that good. You have to plan your vacation the way you plan your days at work….that’s not a vacation. They need to get back to basics, take care of their cast members and customers, and quit overpaying the lousy CEO. It’s not the place that Walt envisioned…it very sad. My husband insists we have to go in January so we can be there for the 50th anniversary ….I hate to waste my vacation days like that.
They won’t, they would lose a cash grab that force actual fans of the franchise to watch terrible sequels and woke shows that only please an agenda of fake fans. The CEO would rather watch Star Wars burn to the ground, than do the fans a favor by allowing it to grow with a company that would do it justice. The CEO would rather stay and watch Disney fall apart to an empty parking lot and milk the cast members and guests of Disney of they got, than quit the company. I could go to Disney anytime that I want but rather not, due to the insane prices, lack of caring, and crazy woke atmosphere that increases every day. I remember seeing a 12 year boy walking around Animal Kingdom wearing a short female skirt with panties jacked up but that’s it. It was beyond disturbing to say the least but nothing was done having the kid removed and/or asking him to change to something else or at least wear something over the panties, if he still wanted to keep wearing it.
Last vacation at disney. Unheated pools. No Christmas decorations. No music. Broken rides everywhere. No maintenance. Long lines. Paid fast passes have broken the park into haves/have nots. Food quality is way down. Prices are in the stratosphere. But the icing on the cake is the murder of splash mountain. An absolute classic ride that is being destroyed because it’s too expensive to maintain all those animatronics with no staff. Dvc owner that is contemplating selling…because I’m not sure if I need a long, long break or if I ever want to come back at all now.
Chapek sucks and has to leave, likely involuntary. He’s driven Disney World into the ground, it’s way overpriced without value, depending on the reputation. That “magical” reputation for a quality visit at a family price is gone. Just out of reach for an average family and it’d be long lines and broken rides anyway. Vacation elsewhere, trust me.
Keep up the woke agenda! I was a Disney super fan, most vacations were spent at Disney properties or on cruise lines. We had Disney Plus, Disneyland annual passes, Hulu and own a ton of old movies. We even own two DVC properties. But all this has ended because of their work agenda. I’m out and won’t return until the Disney I loved is back.
Agree w all of the above. Family used to vs for a week at least 1 x per year. Not since 2020….could start yo see negative changes in “THE MAGIC” back then (housekeepi ng, magic express, fewer castmembers, fewer opt IP ns for dinner reservations, quality of merchandise down but higher prices, , condition of rides, WOKE on steroids..
Absolutely agree. We’ve not given up the parks entirely but we’re certainly spending less. We used to watch new movies and shows, now we skip those. Streaming is eating losses because it’s an agenda operation, not a business effort.
Without normal non woke people Disney will go out of business. When I get my hands on Disney in a hostile takeover, you undesirables will stop going and no one will miss you. Disney parks will be time capsules stuck in the 1960s where they belong and “What would Walt do?” will dictate decisions. I don’t give jobs to anyone woke and have been boycotted by woke people for decades without a ripple.
Say what you want but he’s right. There are lots of families that don’t want progressive agendas forced on their children, especially ones with traditional values. Leave that junk for politics and adults. I just want the old Disney back that was more concerned with making kids smile rather than catering to progressive ideologies. You might say “glad people like you stop going”, but people like that are a majority of families that consists of 4+ household members… That’s a HUGE chunk of revenue for the parks. Clearly the “woke” movement has had an adverse effect on their bottom line.
Woke! Woke woke woke! I watched Tucker last night, and he told me all about what to say. Woke! What will Disney do without people like me investing their parks?!?!?
Walt is probably rolling over in his grave. He wanted Disneyland to be affordable for EVERYONE to enjoy. Bob Chapek is running the Disney name into the ground. They need to dump him and bring back Bob Iger.
My family has decided to end our biannual Disneyland trips and spend our hard earned money elsewhere thanks to Bob Chapek.
Why would you cut back on what is actually making money and paying the bills, and not on the top of management that has made poor decisions to put the company in this position? The company should stand by it’s hourly people, improve the performance of it’s park operations that is actually making money, and improve quality in it’s operations, merchandise, and employees.
Between Bob Chapek’s dismantling of the Disney Experience, the inclusion of the “Woke” agenda, radical price increases, decline of maintenance and staffing – the Disney Magic is gone! Greed for the pockets of Chapek and the Corporate Elite has become the purpose of Disney now…
It seems sad that theme parks, particularly WDW and DLR have to subsidize the streaming business, and be starved of investment as money keeps being poured into streaming. Steaming was supposed to turn a profit this year or next and no one is being held accountable for its failure. Cost cutting your way to profitability is a fools errand. Even in theme parks, wacky, zero return investments like the Star Wars Hotel are folly. If nowhere to invest cash, raise wages to get the best service cast members or give back as dividends or split the difference.
Paycheck has ran that place in to the ground. I can’t understand why he hasn’t been fired. I’m have not heard one person say anything positive about him. I’ve been going to Disney World on a regular basis for the past 30 plus years. The last time I was there was in magic kingdom on October 1st, 2021. Don’t get me started on what a disappointment that was. Needless to say, I won’t go back till he is gone and this mess is fixed!
Disney world is supposed to be for kids, and not only has the family of four been priced out of going to Disney, but I wonder if I can afford the price increases. Yet the Parks are packed, so start to cut the high paid employees to get some balance to it. Try to limit the number of people attending to make it more pleasant for those who do make it to the Parks. Stop expanding Disney+ so fast!
So much for Disney being for everyone. At this rate, only the extremely wealthy and elite will be able to afford it. Our kids and grandkids all wanted to go to Disney but I think we’ll rethink that one. Lots of other places to go and see that don’t cost your life savings. Walt Disney is probably rolling in his grave.
I agree with most of the comments. In today’s economy I believe you will lose more customers which equates to money as you continue to increase prices. Have you considered why Disney, Hulu and ESPN are not doing as well. I know some people who gave up on professional football years ago. As more and more sports divisions acting and supporting their own agenda I know I don’t care to watch it. It seems like the parks are supporting themselves don’t make your guest pay the price for your failing divisions. Reach out to your customers and get insight from those who use or once used it.
Salvage the company? Disney wouldn’t have to be “salvaged” anything if they stopped trying to destroy everything their predecessors created in the first place. That includes Iger, who’s still heavily involved in the creative aspect of the company.
Chapek and the executives only care about money and shoving a Woke agenda down people’s throats then complain their company is in trouble after treating cast members horribly, jacking the prices up on everything, and often blame their customers for the company’s stupid, greedy mistakes.
I agree they destroyed Disney for Families with the woke/BLM and the Transgender agenda and crapped on the 90 percent that supported them. My family and many others that I know will never go there again unless they reverse there sickening agenda there pushing on our kids.
There’s just one more cut I would recommend which has cost Disney more to keep than any other expense, cut Bob Chapek. Then and only then will you see a positive change!
So let me get this straight they are losing money on their streaming apps and services but made billions in profits at the parks and they decide the right move is to lay people off and raise prices at the parks on top of the cutbacks? Seems ass backwards.. upgrade your streaming content or get out of the app business.
I’ve heard of Disney+ requiring your age and gender for subscriptions, just ridiculous. Until Disney makes some big changes for the greater good, I’m out.
Woke, woke, woke. I’m so tired of this aspect being
blamed for for the problems. How has that got nothing to do with it? Chapek and his money mad agenda is the problem. I saw this coming since the parks reopened. The profits were way up at the beginning but profits like that could not be sustained. People would get tired of the lousy experience for exorbitant prices. And here it it. If I could see that, and I have no business training or education, couldn’t someone like Bob Paycheck see that or did he just not care?
We used to go every few weeks, and we are not locals. Won’t go
back for a long, long time. Just not worth it. I’ll go to Knotts Berry Farm or Universal Hollywood. Or maybe just Downtown Disney to get a taste of Disney for free and avoid the huge ticket prices.
Everyone blaming the new ceo when it’s marketing, and pushing all these super hero movies and shows. The general consumer is tired of the super hero plot. It’s the same thing over and over. People in spandex save the world. Bring back disney properties they would see a dramatic increase in disney plus and viewers. The parks will always make money.
Have been a long time Disney person with over 50 visits. My last visit was a terrible disappointment, cutbacks in cleaning cutbacks in maintenance all visible everywhere you turn. I want my old Disney back. Disney is no longer a place for middle class families to go. Instead making it a playground for the affluent has become the norm.
I’ve been an annual pass holder for 6 years and the Magic is gone for me and my family. We’re not renewing due to all of issues with rides being down and the extreme price increase for everything. Very sad something needs to be done and it’s not raising prices in the parks or cutting staff. Your cast members are your face to face team every day all day 365 days a year. Take a look at your salary and other higher up executives and start your cost cutting there.
Bob Paycheck killed the company by ticking off it’s family fan base and sucking every penny he could out of us. It was only a matter of time before his bubble burst.
Maybe it is time to find a new CEO. This current CEO is raising prices and the consumer is getting less and less for their money. Sad it used to be the happiest place on earth now I would say with all the changes the magic is gone!!Certainly not Walt Disney’s dream.
In summary the parks are making money, streaming is losing it. Their proposed solution is to cut back on park staff instead of on streaming production budget? Proof that agenda is more important to them now than profits and fans.
Chapec should be on the chopping block! As a stock holder I want him gone. He thinks the Parks will bail the Company out! Ditch the streaming and get back to the basics!
Strong management with your only successful venture being Disney Parks why not try to ruin them as well. Disney Parks can not support all of Disney’s business concerns each one needs to shoe a profit or a strong plan to show a profit or divest from it….. ESPN business stinks and its not improving.
Why hasn’t he been fired! Increased prices, awful with park reservations, genie and lightning lane. You can’t even really relax without being glued to your phone to take care of it all. Not to mention its lost some real magic. Reservations and its more crowded then before 2020?
Bob Chapek attempt to savage company..
Just the title tell the story..
The company is in trouble Walt Disney company 100years serviced the miller years of g”reed is good” hostel takeovers.
Who put the company this position.
Why does this mean still have a job..
Eisner was forced out for less.
I been stock holder since 1980s bought stock lately at $120 then $110 and recently at 85.. stock should be $200 not $90..
How is a man who does not knot how to talk to the press the followers , fans people who love Disney going to save the company who know nothing about Walt or Roy going to save this company. He can’t even quote on thing about Walt or imaginering.
I’d like it more if Disney+ content were on Netflix or Amazon. Too many streaming services already, Disney strongarming their way in was a mistake. Just focus on content.
Your effort to be inclusive and promote transgender children in a culture designed for FAMILY fun has turned many away. I don’t want to have to explain to my children why a boy was in my daughter’s bathroom. You made your choice (woke), I made mine. See ya Mickey. Plus your prices
He’s an ass hat, I hope they fail.
I was a life long Disney fanatic.
Yearly trips, stock owner, proposed to my wife there in front of Cinderella’s castle, annual pass holder…. It’s all gone now.
Their greed and woke agenda have gone too far.
Bob Chapek is running Disney like a “normal” business. Disney’s “magic” is what made Disney successful. Chapek is getting rid of all the things that made Disney “Disney”. I’m a big Disney fan. I was a cast member at Disneyland. I WAS a long-time AP, but now I can’t afford it. I am now a shareholder. Chapek needs to go. The Disney CEO needs to understand Disney magic. It’s not always about profits because that will happen no matter what.
Go woke, go broke. To fix this all they would have to do is go say they are returning to true values and turning away from what they have been doing for the last few years.
We’re Disney stock holders who can’t even afford to go to Disney now, much less with the price increases.
As for Disney+, it will do better next quarter. When Disney+ launched, D23 members could pay $120 and get three years of service. That 3 years ended this month. Unless canceled, we all got charged $80 for another year. I have a feeling most didn’t remember to cancel.
Cfo’s ( Cheapak) always make bad CEO’S too caught up in penny pinching while forgetting how it affects the experience. The decisions he has made have ruined the park experience. He is out of touch with the main street population. We used to book 3 free fast passes weekly and have dinner and drinks afterwards. We no longer go very often and never eat or drink in the parks. The park entry fee is out of control then he ads the unpopular pay as you use Genie. The parks stink of greed and without the post covid hang over revenue would be considerably worse. Wait til the hang over ends he will be begging for people to return off there expensive awful experience.
In a recession and the middle class is living pay check to pay check you raise prices Disney was for kids of all ages all you care about is money for your pockets I’ve always been a fan of Disney but this isn’t Disney not anymore you need to step down or be fired as CEO customer and employee first not the other way guess who make you money the guest and your driving them away with your woke agenda and politics you need to step down or be fired for the good of Disney and let someone who actually cares about Disney
What happened to the good old days of Disney? You purchased ticket, walked up to gate and you were in. Don’t want to plan my vacation around Disney. The “magic” is gone
Quit getting involved in politics. Regardless of your opinion, you’re going to alienate someone, investors are going to go away, viewers (subscribers) are going to find another source of entertainment. .
This comes back to Iger. His biggest mistake was letting his ego get the best of him and blaming Staggs for Asia. If Staggs had taken over, Disney would not be a mess. Chapek just doesn’t know how to lead and he’s focused on the 1%
What a genius Bob Chapek is. Company makes tens of billions of dollars but greed says it’s not enough. People like myself aren’t renewing park passes and Disney+. His solution is rye aise prices even more. I guess he doesn’t understand that’s part of what is driving once loyal fans away. Average families and retirees on fixed incomes can no longer afford Disney. Only the wealthy can stay at the Galactic Starcruiser hotel. My advice to Chapek and the board is stay away from politics, make Disney magical for ALL, make prices reasonable and adhere to Walt’s ideas.
But his Twitter followers are happy because he alienated 60% of the population of Florida. That is all that matters anymore for these failing companies.
How about he cut his pay what he makes and dome of the other executives that sit there and make big decisions and how about he go to a Disney park and actually work
At this point, I don’t think Bobby could right the train he helped derail, even if he went back to the time of complimentary Magical Express, free magic bands, dining plans, AP’s etc. He has alienated so much of the deep rooted fan base and just doesn’t care what they want. I’d sell my shares just so I don’t lose more.
Ever since Chapek took over the magic of Disney has disappeared. It’s sad that my children will not get to enjoy Disney because of the continued pricing increases.
I was at Disney on Oct 1 of 71 opening day and have seen all the changes. Walts desire of a park where dream became magic and anyone could visit the park. His Vision is Destroyed by Political correctness, Greed, and laziness. My 14 yr old son is a toss clothing leave things scattered and his room was way cleaner then certain park areas. We were there a week during the 50th and we actually found graffiti on a few walls and rides. I worked for 2 yrs at WDW and we never let guests down. I cooked and I drove a monorail. Quick Decline after Eisner left.
For all I have seen this is really getting ridiculous raising the prices , really ? He is really lucky Disney isn’t around … Disney made this park for everyone to have fun not to pinch a penny lol He made sure everyone can afford everything not to scrounge around to get a ticket now raising the prices he just needs to get out of that job a get someone one else who is understands and cares like Disney did …
I never write comments but just got back from Disney as out-of-state passholders and family of 7. Raising prices again 8 Dec to $1399 per ticket and for another $100 we get to add photo pass to our ticket, which used to be included. Greed, greed, greed! We’ve decided not to renew our passes as it would be $10500 to walk into a park, not including resort costs/food/travel to FL. Moving on over to Universal for sure where their guests mean something. On a brighter note, we met some really great cast members including bus drivers that knew how to make our day magical.
I wouldn’t mind higher prices if we were getting higher quality or even if it was the same. But we’re losing the cleanliness, the happiness, and extras that Disney provided all while paying more. That’s really the issue.
Disney has been prompting a woke agenda and it really turns me off. They need to focus on entertaining us, not promoting a political agenda. I cancelled Disney plus once because of this. I am cancelling it a second time.
Getting our first ever Universal Studios passes this winter. Disney has gone off the rails with this greedy grubber. Thought I’d always be a Disney girl, but times change, and this has been too much even for us ride or die types.
Unfortunately I will not be taking my family there. We just can’t afford it anymore. It was once this magical place to go. Now it’s price gouging and the whole Genie service and lightning lane system is a joke. We’ll be going to Universal Studios from here on. It is way more affordable.

Patty
The law, which DeSantis governor in Florida signed Monday, prohibits teachers from providing instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity for kindergarten through third-grade students. It also provides parents the ability to sue if a teacher violates the law.
C’mon! Sexual orientation, really? If you see nothing wrong with this, you have some real moral and parental issues.
Ree
I agree
Debbie
I agree. You have priced and taken away until we cancelled our trip. You are losing the magic that Walt started with. Big mistake!
Eric
This move shows the shortsightedness of Chepek and why he should have never become CEO. He is driven by numbers at all cost, failing to recognize guests in the parks drive those numbers. When you change the experience, the culture and the “magic” that Disney was known for fans stop coming because THEY know Disney has changed and they don’t like it.
Wyn_01
He should fire himself. It’s been down hill since ce he took over. Iger handed him the playbook for printing money but being out of touch with the fans and his own staff is what brought this on. Get rid of him!!
Dan
They must abandon the whole streaming project as it was a money pit from the star and cannot sustain itself- make the business decision you need to make and dump it.
Blackstar
Hey I like Disney + 😡
Kiry Ohal
I’d like it more if Disney+ content were on Netflix or Amazon. Too many streaming services already, Disney strongarming their way in was a mistake. Just focus on content.
Bob
The streaming services are a drag to the company.also remakes of movies are essentially killing off revenues. Get back to family values is what Disney was good at. Sunday night movie night was a great thing for Disney
JON K
Then the cross takeover will return it before you get a chance. Hahahaha
SC Disfan
Or stop making content for the sake of virtue signaling vs what’s actually popular.
Wing
That works better
Steve
The majority of their employees are working to send a message, not make a good product.
Iger packed the company with leftists and the normal people quit when Cheapskate took over.
Steve
The company was headed for destruction under Iger. He was horrible. Chapek only accelerated the Iger Decline.
Rev. Gelene R Grice
I totally agree. I knew he would take down this company!
D hall
Maybe if you froze prices instead of increasing prices you would get more people to come.
When people can’t feel they can afford to coming therefore Disney loses money and patrons
It’s sad
Tish
Agree 100%
Aaron
These are the same types of moves by CEOs that cause recessions and depressions. Instead of realizing employees and customers are most important they focus on making more money short term.
Jo
Went to Universal this year instead of Disney. MUCH better. Plan to take two trips in 2023 to Universal and avoid Disney until Chapek and the company get straight.
Karen
Sold all disney points and have gone to universal last 4 years. Walt would cry
Yvette
Agreed. Unfortunately we skipped Disney last year and went to Universal.
Tim
Just returned from a week at Disney World. The magic is gone. No spontaneity having to make park & dinner reservations 6 months in advance. He is pricing out the middle class. This was my last visit for sure.
Linda Walker
Yanet
Spot on.
Ralph
We’re has the magic gone . Long lines were good family time.. Parades, fireworks, character photos .That is what made all our little dreams come true . Bob Pay-check never knew that .
DC
As a Florida native and an top tear annual pass holder I can say that Disney has lost a lot of its magic and prestige under the CEO.
I’ve had annual passes to all three major theme parks and I think at renewal time it’s time to going back to universal.
Sabrina
Larry dont you know you cant fix stupid? You can only slow it down. I no longer have any desire to go to disney anymore. Between the lack of service, rides breaking down, less for your money,an annual pass that restricts your days due to having to have a reservation to get into the park, and unruly visitors.starting fights, what’s the point.
Matt
100%.
Tish
Agree 100%. I won’t go back for a long long time.
F'Lama Tia
Then don’t go.
Elijah Abrams
They need to sell off 20th Studios!
SaddenForMickey
We have spent alot of money in Disney. We have two properties and every year they take more from thier customers. DVC is a shadow of what it once was and the constant “tweaks” they make are never for the better. We are looking to leave soon.
Christopher
Disney has become a joke. I had a premier pass for 18 years and then the pandemic hit. They finally got their chance to make Disney an elitist park for only the super rich to enjoy. There are plenty of other parks to enjoy, spend your hard earned money there!
C.C.
If Disney wants to save itself, they have GOT to get Chapek out. All he does is ruin it more.
DHC
MsChemicalEngineer
Brandy O'Hea
1000% accurate!
He totally destroyed the company.
Samantha. M
Sell Lucasfilm back to George Lucas
Wing
Or to anyone with Elon Musk level money
Vanished Fan
James
Last vacation at disney. Unheated pools. No Christmas decorations. No music. Broken rides everywhere. No maintenance. Long lines. Paid fast passes have broken the park into haves/have nots. Food quality is way down. Prices are in the stratosphere. But the icing on the cake is the murder of splash mountain. An absolute classic ride that is being destroyed because it’s too expensive to maintain all those animatronics with no staff. Dvc owner that is contemplating selling…because I’m not sure if I need a long, long break or if I ever want to come back at all now.
John
Chapek sucks and has to leave, likely involuntary. He’s driven Disney World into the ground, it’s way overpriced without value, depending on the reputation. That “magical” reputation for a quality visit at a family price is gone. Just out of reach for an average family and it’d be long lines and broken rides anyway. Vacation elsewhere, trust me.
Kurt
The only thing that Disney need saving from is the CEO
Michael
Keep up the woke agenda! I was a Disney super fan, most vacations were spent at Disney properties or on cruise lines. We had Disney Plus, Disneyland annual passes, Hulu and own a ton of old movies. We even own two DVC properties. But all this has ended because of their work agenda. I’m out and won’t return until the Disney I loved is back.
Adele
You have that right Michael the movies and everything is going down hill. Tired of the woke agenda!
Wyn_01
You do realize loving all that stuff and being a man is super gay but your upset because it’s now spelled out for you, 🤣
Jo
Or he had kids/grandkids
Joan grasso
Agree w all of the above. Family used to vs for a week at least 1 x per year. Not since 2020….could start yo see negative changes in “THE MAGIC” back then (housekeepi ng, magic express, fewer castmembers, fewer opt IP ns for dinner reservations, quality of merchandise down but higher prices, , condition of rides, WOKE on steroids..
Waldo
Later dude. There are others willing to take your spot.
SC Disfan
Absolutely agree. We’ve not given up the parks entirely but we’re certainly spending less. We used to watch new movies and shows, now we skip those. Streaming is eating losses because it’s an agenda operation, not a business effort.
S1
Without normal non woke people Disney will go out of business. When I get my hands on Disney in a hostile takeover, you undesirables will stop going and no one will miss you. Disney parks will be time capsules stuck in the 1960s where they belong and “What would Walt do?” will dictate decisions. I don’t give jobs to anyone woke and have been boycotted by woke people for decades without a ripple.
DaddyWallStreet
Say what you want but he’s right. There are lots of families that don’t want progressive agendas forced on their children, especially ones with traditional values. Leave that junk for politics and adults. I just want the old Disney back that was more concerned with making kids smile rather than catering to progressive ideologies. You might say “glad people like you stop going”, but people like that are a majority of families that consists of 4+ household members… That’s a HUGE chunk of revenue for the parks. Clearly the “woke” movement has had an adverse effect on their bottom line.
DA
Woke! Woke woke woke! I watched Tucker last night, and he told me all about what to say. Woke! What will Disney do without people like me investing their parks?!?!?
Steve
You made these same posts under like 10 fake names. Disney is woke and woke is garbage. You are garbage.
Karen M
yes agree
Star
Someone who actually cares about the Disney company needs to take over and boot chapek out!
Wyn_01
100% agree!
Denny
Unfortunately, that person died in 1966.
marajade
Spot on. Too bad we can’t clone him.
Kim
When will someone step in and help. Don’t let Disney fall by the waist side. Kids around the world and adults would miss Disney.
Matt R
Agreed, screw the libtards and theor woke BS. Dump Chapec Paycheck and bring back Eisner.
SR
Walt is probably rolling over in his grave. He wanted Disneyland to be affordable for EVERYONE to enjoy. Bob Chapek is running the Disney name into the ground. They need to dump him and bring back Bob Iger.
My family has decided to end our biannual Disneyland trips and spend our hard earned money elsewhere thanks to Bob Chapek.
James
Why would you cut back on what is actually making money and paying the bills, and not on the top of management that has made poor decisions to put the company in this position? The company should stand by it’s hourly people, improve the performance of it’s park operations that is actually making money, and improve quality in it’s operations, merchandise, and employees.
AB
Between Bob Chapek’s dismantling of the Disney Experience, the inclusion of the “Woke” agenda, radical price increases, decline of maintenance and staffing – the Disney Magic is gone! Greed for the pockets of Chapek and the Corporate Elite has become the purpose of Disney now…
J
I knew someone with an oversized ego would try to speak for Walt from his Grave on this thread. Boring
Mark
Yeah, Bob Iger and Michael Eisner is spinning in their luxury mansions, they would never approve.
Steve
Who do you think will buy Disney?
Bruce M
It seems sad that theme parks, particularly WDW and DLR have to subsidize the streaming business, and be starved of investment as money keeps being poured into streaming. Steaming was supposed to turn a profit this year or next and no one is being held accountable for its failure. Cost cutting your way to profitability is a fools errand. Even in theme parks, wacky, zero return investments like the Star Wars Hotel are folly. If nowhere to invest cash, raise wages to get the best service cast members or give back as dividends or split the difference.
Vern
Totally agree
Jennifer
Paycheck has ran that place in to the ground. I can’t understand why he hasn’t been fired. I’m have not heard one person say anything positive about him. I’ve been going to Disney World on a regular basis for the past 30 plus years. The last time I was there was in magic kingdom on October 1st, 2021. Don’t get me started on what a disappointment that was. Needless to say, I won’t go back till he is gone and this mess is fixed!
Carol Halter
Disney world is supposed to be for kids, and not only has the family of four been priced out of going to Disney, but I wonder if I can afford the price increases. Yet the Parks are packed, so start to cut the high paid employees to get some balance to it. Try to limit the number of people attending to make it more pleasant for those who do make it to the Parks. Stop expanding Disney+ so fast!
Lea
So much for Disney being for everyone. At this rate, only the extremely wealthy and elite will be able to afford it. Our kids and grandkids all wanted to go to Disney but I think we’ll rethink that one. Lots of other places to go and see that don’t cost your life savings. Walt Disney is probably rolling in his grave.
Tammy Smith
I agree with most of the comments. In today’s economy I believe you will lose more customers which equates to money as you continue to increase prices. Have you considered why Disney, Hulu and ESPN are not doing as well. I know some people who gave up on professional football years ago. As more and more sports divisions acting and supporting their own agenda I know I don’t care to watch it. It seems like the parks are supporting themselves don’t make your guest pay the price for your failing divisions. Reach out to your customers and get insight from those who use or once used it.
Ann
Salvage the company? Disney wouldn’t have to be “salvaged” anything if they stopped trying to destroy everything their predecessors created in the first place. That includes Iger, who’s still heavily involved in the creative aspect of the company.
Chapek and the executives only care about money and shoving a Woke agenda down people’s throats then complain their company is in trouble after treating cast members horribly, jacking the prices up on everything, and often blame their customers for the company’s stupid, greedy mistakes.
Michael
I agree they destroyed Disney for Families with the woke/BLM and the Transgender agenda and crapped on the 90 percent that supported them. My family and many others that I know will never go there again unless they reverse there sickening agenda there pushing on our kids.
Kitkat
It’s too expensive with less perks. Why is everything about WOKE? You sound like a middle school kid.
Steve
People don’t want your agenda, weirdo.
T
Chapek is taking this company down to ground and it will probably be too late before they accept that.
LC
There’s just one more cut I would recommend which has cost Disney more to keep than any other expense, cut Bob Chapek. Then and only then will you see a positive change!
Mason
Disney died in 2020.
Vern
So let me get this straight they are losing money on their streaming apps and services but made billions in profits at the parks and they decide the right move is to lay people off and raise prices at the parks on top of the cutbacks? Seems ass backwards.. upgrade your streaming content or get out of the app business.
SC Disfan
But streaming is where they can push their agenda…….duh
Steve
If they stopped making agenda-pushing garbage no one bur their twitter followed wanted, they might not be failing.
John S.
I’ve heard of Disney+ requiring your age and gender for subscriptions, just ridiculous. Until Disney makes some big changes for the greater good, I’m out.
Kathy
Steve
Woke is definitely a large part of why Disney is failing. You sound angry that people are calling it out. Grow up.
;)
Bro, you triggered?
Steve
Head back to Twitter where you are wanted.
OH!
Alba
Everyone blaming the new ceo when it’s marketing, and pushing all these super hero movies and shows. The general consumer is tired of the super hero plot. It’s the same thing over and over. People in spandex save the world. Bring back disney properties they would see a dramatic increase in disney plus and viewers. The parks will always make money.
Kandi
And now holding hostage on new movie to Disney plus. Won’t do it, out
Ken
Have been a long time Disney person with over 50 visits. My last visit was a terrible disappointment, cutbacks in cleaning cutbacks in maintenance all visible everywhere you turn. I want my old Disney back. Disney is no longer a place for middle class families to go. Instead making it a playground for the affluent has become the norm.
Dien Post
I’ve been an annual pass holder for 6 years and the Magic is gone for me and my family. We’re not renewing due to all of issues with rides being down and the extreme price increase for everything. Very sad something needs to be done and it’s not raising prices in the parks or cutting staff. Your cast members are your face to face team every day all day 365 days a year. Take a look at your salary and other higher up executives and start your cost cutting there.
Curtis
They should have fired him a year ago.
Delmar Shortt
Bob Paycheck killed the company by ticking off it’s family fan base and sucking every penny he could out of us. It was only a matter of time before his bubble burst.
Rai
Maybe it is time to find a new CEO. This current CEO is raising prices and the consumer is getting less and less for their money. Sad it used to be the happiest place on earth now I would say with all the changes the magic is gone!!Certainly not Walt Disney’s dream.
SC Disfan
In summary the parks are making money, streaming is losing it. Their proposed solution is to cut back on park staff instead of on streaming production budget? Proof that agenda is more important to them now than profits and fans.
Mike
Chapec should be on the chopping block! As a stock holder I want him gone. He thinks the Parks will bail the Company out! Ditch the streaming and get back to the basics!
Corn Flake
I’m sure this comment section will be rational and civilized
Sharon
Trying to salvage it? He’s the one ruining it!
Steve
Strong management with your only successful venture being Disney Parks why not try to ruin them as well. Disney Parks can not support all of Disney’s business concerns each one needs to shoe a profit or a strong plan to show a profit or divest from it….. ESPN business stinks and its not improving.
Wann
Why hasn’t he been fired! Increased prices, awful with park reservations, genie and lightning lane. You can’t even really relax without being glued to your phone to take care of it all. Not to mention its lost some real magic. Reservations and its more crowded then before 2020?
Steve
Reservations are about cutting staff hours – cost cutting. Nothing to do with capacity. Never had anything to do with it.
Hank
Good, let them burn. I can’t wait for the investors to start calling for his fat, bulbous head on a pike.
Pal w
Pal w
Sorry for type Os
Kiry Phal
I’d like it more if Disney+ content were on Netflix or Amazon. Too many streaming services already, Disney strongarming their way in was a mistake. Just focus on content.
Bill Jones
Your effort to be inclusive and promote transgender children in a culture designed for FAMILY fun has turned many away. I don’t want to have to explain to my children why a boy was in my daughter’s bathroom. You made your choice (woke), I made mine. See ya Mickey. Plus your prices
Michael
He’s an ass hat, I hope they fail.
I was a life long Disney fanatic.
Yearly trips, stock owner, proposed to my wife there in front of Cinderella’s castle, annual pass holder…. It’s all gone now.
Their greed and woke agenda have gone too far.
Jeff
Bob Chapek is running Disney like a “normal” business. Disney’s “magic” is what made Disney successful. Chapek is getting rid of all the things that made Disney “Disney”. I’m a big Disney fan. I was a cast member at Disneyland. I WAS a long-time AP, but now I can’t afford it. I am now a shareholder. Chapek needs to go. The Disney CEO needs to understand Disney magic. It’s not always about profits because that will happen no matter what.
Steve
In a normal business, he would already be fired.
James
Go woke, go broke. To fix this all they would have to do is go say they are returning to true values and turning away from what they have been doing for the last few years.
Jenni
We’re Disney stock holders who can’t even afford to go to Disney now, much less with the price increases.
As for Disney+, it will do better next quarter. When Disney+ launched, D23 members could pay $120 and get three years of service. That 3 years ended this month. Unless canceled, we all got charged $80 for another year. I have a feeling most didn’t remember to cancel.
Gary
Thomas
In a recession and the middle class is living pay check to pay check you raise prices Disney was for kids of all ages all you care about is money for your pockets I’ve always been a fan of Disney but this isn’t Disney not anymore you need to step down or be fired as CEO customer and employee first not the other way guess who make you money the guest and your driving them away with your woke agenda and politics you need to step down or be fired for the good of Disney and let someone who actually cares about Disney
Barbara
What happened to the good old days of Disney? You purchased ticket, walked up to gate and you were in. Don’t want to plan my vacation around Disney. The “magic” is gone
SarahG
Quit getting involved in politics. Regardless of your opinion, you’re going to alienate someone, investors are going to go away, viewers (subscribers) are going to find another source of entertainment. .
Ree
This comes back to Iger. His biggest mistake was letting his ego get the best of him and blaming Staggs for Asia. If Staggs had taken over, Disney would not be a mess. Chapek just doesn’t know how to lead and he’s focused on the 1%
Wayne
What a genius Bob Chapek is. Company makes tens of billions of dollars but greed says it’s not enough. People like myself aren’t renewing park passes and Disney+. His solution is rye aise prices even more. I guess he doesn’t understand that’s part of what is driving once loyal fans away. Average families and retirees on fixed incomes can no longer afford Disney. Only the wealthy can stay at the Galactic Starcruiser hotel. My advice to Chapek and the board is stay away from politics, make Disney magical for ALL, make prices reasonable and adhere to Walt’s ideas.
Steve
But his Twitter followers are happy because he alienated 60% of the population of Florida. That is all that matters anymore for these failing companies.
Ryan
How about he cut his pay what he makes and dome of the other executives that sit there and make big decisions and how about he go to a Disney park and actually work
Mickeymouse3
At this point, I don’t think Bobby could right the train he helped derail, even if he went back to the time of complimentary Magical Express, free magic bands, dining plans, AP’s etc. He has alienated so much of the deep rooted fan base and just doesn’t care what they want. I’d sell my shares just so I don’t lose more.
Charles
Ever since Chapek took over the magic of Disney has disappeared. It’s sad that my children will not get to enjoy Disney because of the continued pricing increases.
Scott
Little to late for that whole he is in charge!!!
Sam Panzarella
I was at Disney on Oct 1 of 71 opening day and have seen all the changes. Walts desire of a park where dream became magic and anyone could visit the park. His Vision is Destroyed by Political correctness, Greed, and laziness. My 14 yr old son is a toss clothing leave things scattered and his room was way cleaner then certain park areas. We were there a week during the 50th and we actually found graffiti on a few walls and rides. I worked for 2 yrs at WDW and we never let guests down. I cooked and I drove a monorail. Quick Decline after Eisner left.
Michelle
For all I have seen this is really getting ridiculous raising the prices , really ? He is really lucky Disney isn’t around … Disney made this park for everyone to have fun not to pinch a penny lol He made sure everyone can afford everything not to scrounge around to get a ticket now raising the prices he just needs to get out of that job a get someone one else who is understands and cares like Disney did …
Larry F Fearing
Go woke ho broke
Ashlyn Blake
Start by laying off the top 20 in the corporation. It’s their incompetence that is causing revenue drop.
TM
I never write comments but just got back from Disney as out-of-state passholders and family of 7. Raising prices again 8 Dec to $1399 per ticket and for another $100 we get to add photo pass to our ticket, which used to be included. Greed, greed, greed! We’ve decided not to renew our passes as it would be $10500 to walk into a park, not including resort costs/food/travel to FL. Moving on over to Universal for sure where their guests mean something. On a brighter note, we met some really great cast members including bus drivers that knew how to make our day magical.
Don
Sarah
I wouldn’t mind higher prices if we were getting higher quality or even if it was the same. But we’re losing the cleanliness, the happiness, and extras that Disney provided all while paying more. That’s really the issue.
Gary
Salaries at the top should be chopped but never are, you need a workforce to do the job in the parks, not more management, too many chiefs
Ron
Stop listening to the 3%, Families don’t want to see of be apart or the “New Magic” I guess that whole WOKE go Broke is knocking on Disney’s door
James
Disney has been prompting a woke agenda and it really turns me off. They need to focus on entertaining us, not promoting a political agenda. I cancelled Disney plus once because of this. I am cancelling it a second time.
Deb Hall
That man has done everything he can to destroy Disney and getting by with it.
Ruth
Getting our first ever Universal Studios passes this winter. Disney has gone off the rails with this greedy grubber. Thought I’d always be a Disney girl, but times change, and this has been too much even for us ride or die types.
Paul
Unfortunately I will not be taking my family there. We just can’t afford it anymore. It was once this magical place to go. Now it’s price gouging and the whole Genie service and lightning lane system is a joke. We’ll be going to Universal Studios from here on. It is way more affordable.
